At this point open the flood gates, we've played god since ancient times with dog breeds, just now it's purely for the thrill of it. Either it's all ok or none of it is.
This makes me cry because my old dog Odie he was my best friend and we had to put him down because me and my neighbor were outside fighting and she punched me and my dog was from a shelter so he bit her because he liked to protect me and she moved away because of that and we put him down a few months later in early 2023 he didn’t even turn 3 yet ITS NOT FAIR THEY TOOK AWAY MY BABY
I got one, he was a rescue, he wants to bite on you hands and plays rougher than I would like. When he worn down, from playing he is easier to handle. I have been bitten a time or two. The originally owner wore gloves and apparently let him grab at his hands. I been working with this one for about 3 weeks. We get along and he is sweet but he always wants to bite your hands and feet. I have tried a few things , and have had a little success, however he has his days. hes almost 4 years old. Any constructive advice is appreciated
Our Calliope Jane is perfect in every way 🥰 except for her health🫤 she was the runt of the litter and had these attacks where she would go totally limp and of course we brought her to the vet where we sadly discovered that her heart is enlarged and her other organs are kind of a mess too but she’s my first dog I’ve ever had since getting clean and I wouldn’t give her up for the world. Sorry for ranting folks but I think I’m done now and I wish you all a lively day 🥰
The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) does not naturally carry the merle gene. The merle coloration, characterized by a mottled or patchy appearance with lighter or darker shades, is not a recognized or standard color for purebred APBTs. If an APBT exhibits the merle pattern, it suggests that the dog has been crossbred with another breed that carries the merle gene, such as a Catahoula Leopard Dog or a breed that naturally has merle in its gene pool. The introduction of the merle gene into the APBT gene pool is generally considered a deviation from the breed standard and is often viewed with skepticism by breeders and enthusiasts who value the preservation of the breed's traditional characteristics. Moreover, breeding for merle in breeds that do not naturally carry the gene can be controversial because the merle gene can be associated with certain health issues, such as hearing and vision problems, particularly in double-merle dogs (dogs with two copies of the merle gene). In summary, a purebred APBT should not have the merle coloration. If an APBT displays a merle pattern, it likely indicates mixed ancestry.
Louisiana catahuala leopard dog.i may have spelled it wrong but it's a dog good for hunting hogs.but the meryle gene is a dead giveaway that it's been mixed because that gene isn't naturally in the apbt@@ant1k-t8x

They are very active and require a lot of exercise and they don’t like other animals . They are more of a farm animal and a guard dog not much of a pet . They can be pet if you are in a village. They have natural guard instincts and are really stubborn.
It's also known as a 'Bull Boxer' in Bruce Fogle / DK's Encyclopedia of the Dog. It was the very last breed listed in the book until the most recent publication.
