Its not like Nikon is robust with all sorts of software programmers. They have one in house programmer to do these updates. He is kept in a locked room and fed under the door. LOL
Adding a direct function "Upload to Imaging Cloud" within NX Studio and Picture Control Utility after adjusting picture control settings would enhance the workflow between editing images on a computer and getting the final output on the camera, too. The cloud could be also used to backup or exchange camera settings like the U1, U2, U3 presets.
The image recipes are highly desirable for Nikon Zf customers, too because many FUJI users have interest in switching to a Zf and they want something comparable to the FUJI film simulations. Limiting the Imaging Cloud only to the Z6 III would be a failure as it would expand the modern workflow like we know from smartphones to any modern Z camera.
Any tutorial colorgrading in Final Cut Pro X? Especially LIbrary color space. I found if I ETTR and applying Nikon's CST the video become overexposed. Another problem is when shooting N-Raw. Why recorded in 2 types of format (Large and 1080p)? The large size (12-Bit RAW) doesn't appears in N-Log and cannot be colorgrade any further (become useless)
Hi there- Nikon's linear focus feature only works in manual focus mode. To learn more check out: www.nikonusa.com/learn-and-explore/c/products-and-innovation/understanding-linear-manual-focus-mode-in-nikon-mirrorless
I’ve followed Mark for many years since his Nikon Canada days. Nikon USA is lucky to have convinced him to come aboard. Quick and to the point videos, please keep them coming !
Please consider a firmware update and improve the behavior of the ISO top dial, C Setting, and Auto ISO. There are countless reports and confused users of the Z f on the internet, and many of them think it could be quickly improved with a small firmware update. Thanks for reading 🙏
Ok but - PLEASE allow the ISO top dial to disable Auto-ISO, when moving from C to a manual ISO value. Currently, Auto-ISO takes priority over the ISO dial and it needs to be manually turned off BEFORE moving from C to another ISO setting (once the top dial moves from C, Auto-ISO is locked / grey'd out...). The result is - the top ISO dial is useless if Auto-ISO is active. Must be moved back to C, disable Auto-ISO, then back from C to ISO value. Hope that makes sense - it's my only request for this otherwise epic camera. Thanks! 🙂
Makes sense. Because you need to put the dedicated ISO dial in "C" mode anyways if you have customized your video recording button to change ISO values and Auto-ISO. Putting the dedicated ISO dial back to a fixed value would disable Auto-ISO. It's like switching if you want to operate the camera in a modern way or with traditional dials.
The information in this video directly contradicts the directions in the FTZII adapter. The directions say to mount the adapter to the camera first and then mount the lens. I even submitted a service request asking for clarification and was told the same thing. Has Nikon done something to change the recommendation?
Just a hint: Native Z-Mount Voigtländer lenses are complementing the Nikon Zf in a perfect sense. I always hear new potential Zf customers that Nikon isn't having appropriate prime lenses for the Zf because they don't know anything about Voigtländer. This lenses should have been made by Nikon for the Zf in the first place. The Nikon SE Z-Mount primes can't match the build quality and design of the Zf. People that are buying the Zf are replacing their Leica and FUJIs that's why they want appropriate lenses. It's just the style, design, handling, build quality and look which are important for the Zf customers. Current Z-Mount lenses look too much like Sigma, Tamron and Sony lenses. This flat design looks modern but is not very exciting. The Zf is about the experience and less rushed photography. The Zf can become the FUJI X100 series in popularity if it's pushed by social media in the same way.
I’m so in my head about getting back into wedding photography. But what you said about being a portrait photographer and an event photographer make being a wedding photographer easier because those skills are already sharp. And I definitely need to get back into shooting for fun and not for the money. I’m broke either way. lol
does anyone know why some of my video are sharp and some have noise? I thought maybe because it's dark or exposure too high? also you can't really see it in the screen. does a camera monitor helps?
Some guys here really make dumb comments. We as customers have more choices at different price points. If you want the best lens buy a expensive f/1.2 lens. Nothing bad about it to have choices.
Great! And a little question: since I entered the lens data in this menu and when I put a non-CPU lens onto my camera, do I have to select and specify the number of this lens used for access to the matrix VR every time, or does my camera determine the lens itself?
Totally agree Joshua expanding skills and exploring new genres is so important for growing as a photographer learning all aspects of photography helps us see things differently and improve our craft Nikon should definitely have you speak more often because your insights are really helpful and inspiring to all photographers
Joshua I just want to thank you for reinvigorating the love of photography that I have and just being okay with not being paid for it. Also being okay with stepping out of my comfort zone which is something that I do a lot. I don't just stick with the one niche because I feel like my interests are pretty broad Nikon needs you there way more
I still have many F-mount lenses since i have collected them over many years. Also very professional ones like the AF-S 300 PF, 14-24 mm f/2.8 or the AF-S 105 mm f/1.4E. I still use them on the FTZ II adapter with a Zf and Z5. To me they look still more beautiful than modern Z-Mount lenses because they had a unique Nikon design.
