The mains are good with a basic Bluetooth set up but if you intend to add a powered sub or do an entire system (2 tops and 2 bottoms) you'd be much better off getting a mixer you wont get much running that set up off Bluetooth alone, signals need to be balanced and properly amplified (meaning signal strength NOT power out put)...those cabs probably beat hard with proper inputs going into them
You need a mixer and also if you're running 2 or more, make sure they're in phase. If you have them running opposite, they'll cancel each other out. Never test on Bluetooth, its absolutely terrible as far as quality and PA systems will make that very apparent. 🤘🤘
So what happened to the subs 18 this brand you returned it eventually ? I was looking also at some jbl eon718s subs and or the Ev elx200 18s any recommendations? This banringer or what ever is the name have a beautiful look like pro level but what really matters is the real power and quality it claims , it seems it definitely needs a bigger amp and some come down to price i believe they spended more money on the look and wood finish and the woofer than the amp module 😅..? Did you even open it to see how was it build ? I contact the company and they had me on hold for more than 35 mins hmm that tell me a lot of bad things 😂
I went JBL.....I bought it for personal use, so I really get lost for hours in the sound quality! But it's kinda overkill for personal use in my garage or backyard....now I'm trying to add a Subwoofer and they are Massive!! Ughhh sometimes I wish I just went with a Partybox instead, but man the PA systems sound crazy realistic.
“The crossovers don’t do nothin’” Dude I gotta be honest, I think it’s the space you tested these out in. Sounds like all your issues had to do with phasing problems. Except the clipping thing. That I couldn’t tell you, but I also know that I’ve seen these things push some crazy air, so again, I really don’t know about the clipping thing. The sound quality issue is almost certainly because of phase though. Did you ever test them in an outdoor or practical setting?

You must of got 2 bad subs cause I just bought the same one and it sounds better than my 18 inch electro voice 18jnch sub , so not sure what’s wrong with yours
Is the (RCF SUB 8003-AS II Powered Subwoofer) a much better sub than the Harbinger Vari V2318 or even better than the QSC lineup? I own 2 of the QSC KS118 3600W; they put out undeniable bass!
RCF stuff Is really good. I've never owed Rcf or qsc but played in bands that have used both. Rcf is super punchy more then low Endy from what I hear both are great though. I think both brands would be better sounding seeing that harbinger is kinda of a budget brand.
Get a digital mixer and connect the main outputs XLR to your subwoofers inputs then outputs plugs on your subwoofers to your speakers inputs (use either channel 1 or 2 on your speakers and switch to line) as left and right. Or if your mixer has XLR main outputs plus 1/4 inches then used XLR for your speakers while the 1/4 inches for your subwoofers. This way, you can control the subwoofers volume independent, same goes to the speakers.
I have the same model, same pair, even the Rockville stands. They sound awesome. I used a small Yamaha digital mixer instead of plugged straight to the speakers. I used them at a small live event (speakers volume around 6'O clock and subwoofer at 6'O clock or zero line on the subwoofer) around 200 to 250 people with a used Rockville 18 inches subwoofer and most of the attendance who knows music says mine speakers were better than previous guy who has a pair of QSC 12 inches powered speakers plus a pair of QSC powered subwoofers. Same room different date. They say mine speakers were more clear, plus the music and the vocals of the singer or general speaking were much better, not like the previous guy who has a QSC music system.
Honestly I brought them back. I didnt have them hooked up the way the manuel said but i heard other people say they clip realy easy. My v2315s 15 inch power speakers are going strong yet! Gonna get some powered jbls prxs.
How did you make out with the subs? Did you use a mixer? Because I just came from Guitar Center and heard sub play.Those things sound incredible.I'm really curious to know what went wrong.
These are garbage. I returned both of mine as well. They clip super easy no matter the eq. My tops put more bass out. The sound quality is terrible. The 12” ones are really bad.
I had one 18 with a two 12" PA for an Outdoor event for about 50 people. The bass was thumping and everyone loved the sound. I used Pioneer DJ Controller to Yamaha Mixer to Speakers, they sound incredible. You need a mixer, bluetooth is crap and I never recommend testing your speakers nor any speakers with bluetooth.
I was first disappointed but read the instructions you might have it set up wrong my bangs so hard my kitchen pans are shaking in my house with one sub I can imagine with 2 do note that you need a good mixer with a good sound card built into it
@brother7059 yea it goes to the subs first then up to the highs and mids pa system and if using a 3 channel mixer your able to regulate the bass but I'm not gonna lie if you don't regulate the bass it will knock to hard and you'll hear it I know on my subs I have the bass knob just turned up a bit literally like half an inch turn on and that's is plenty of bass for my venues I'm in the prosses of looming for 2 more subs of these but a bit hard to find at guitar centers used I see them every where but I want to get a new one just cuz they are 499 new at the moment
Everyone on here saying get this get that might as well spend money on jbl mrx or prx they sound way better and you dont need no drive rack to make them sound good

One most common thing on why you might think they sound rattllly is because they make the objects on the same room move a bit. The rattling is coming from the shaking objects. God i own a Harbinger S12 and yet is sound good
Get an external crossover and set it to 100 Hz, Phase on 0 and the Level on +4 and you’ll get great results, also use a mixer, that’ll get you the sweet spot on these
@brother7059 Yes, it will play , but if it is connected with the source audio into the sub, first, you will not be able to use the crossover. I had a set of those subs.
@wesleywade23 It's not hooked up that way genuis my input source is in my top. The harbinger tops have mixers built in. I'm xlr out of the top into the sub like it's supposed to be.
Them working doesn’t necessarily mean you are using the equipment correctly. 1. You are using a Bluetooth tablet and expecting quality audio. 2. You are going from the tops to the subs when you should go from the subs to the tops. 3. You should use an external mixer to set proper line level also known as setting gain structure (your clipping issue). 4. If you want the most out of your tops and subs use a rack management unit like a Dbx pa2 using the tops as 2 way and the subs mono. Set your x over, limiter, and eq’s accordingly.
Sure that may work but at that point I might as well buy jbl subs. They work fine going out of the tops all its doing is send8ng signal and they have an integrated system that handles that its in the manuel for the subs. They tell you to hook it up that way. But I understand the way your telling me is the better, didn't have much time to try it through a mixer
@@AndrewNelson1985as a sound engineer, you are absolutely correct. I also have jbl, RCF, QSC and they would also sound like trash if tested this way. Lastly, NEVER use 12inch subs for 15 inch mains 🤦🏾♂️. Either go up (18’s sub) or down (12/10/8’s mains & 12 inch subs) 🤷🏽♂️
I disagree, I have 4 of them, use them for live bands all the time. Coming out of a good mixer makes a world of difference. For the money, you can not beat them. I think what you're looking for is a more focused bass response, the crossover on these do not have a 100hz cross over, thats the sweet spot, I do the crossover on my mixer, makes all the difference. I also have the 15" tops, I really love them. Absolutely competes with EV, not so much QSC though.
I can give it a try i still have them, but I've read in reviews, even external mixers they don't sound good. Might make another video with this kind of hook up just to see. Thank you
@brother7059 get a harbinger LV12 from your deck to channel 1 and 2 for your tops main outs and for subs connect with pin connectors to CTRL RM OUTS to subs
Are band has jbl speakers that sound much better and have a better low end. You pay for what you get. These don't have much low-end or punch just sound like a bunch of garble. I'd rather spend my money on a good subs and have good bass. Kinda what I'm getting at in this video. But your right I'm not the sound Gods so it's based off my opion.
