Interesting but I don't think this is an accurate or fair comparison. You are comparing apples and oranges as Burberry has a very wide range of different trench coats for different functions. Comparing a vintage raglan sleeve to a Kensington isn't really that helpful as it should have been compared to a modern raglan, which would be the Waterloo. It also would have been more helpful to make a comparison at an actual Burberry store where they have all this variety in different trenches rather than at a Flannels type multi brand store where they only have 1-2 types of trench max. Burberry offers a wide range of weights and fits in trench coats. If you want Raglan, there's the Waterloo, Kensington is your set in sleeve base model, Chelsea is fitted etc. There is the classic cotton gabardine, still woven in the original mills still in the north of England, there are lighter more trans-seasonal weights like tropical gabardine and also heavier structured cottons like bespoke gabardines made in the UK and Italy. If you're after a heavier weight and more structured as you call it 'survival' cotton, you can find seasonal iterations of this in bigger Burberry stores. You won't find that in a smaller multi brand corner as those will only stock the bestselling base models, which has the widest range of use for most customers and the general trend in trench coats is for them to be lighter weight and less stiff these days, which doesn't mean they're lesser quality, it's just a different type of trench coat. Also this video I can see is 2 years old now. The Kensington 2024 is different again, with other details and made out of organic cotton these days. It's a shape and details are ever changing so it is interesting to keep track of what these changes are.

You seem biased, but thanks for highlighting the differences between old and new. I prefer the newer version.

I still have 3 ilife's with around 6 yo. I need to give them some proper maintenance every year, batteries are almost gone but hey, they've been great so far and they're really reliable

I bought myself a vintage Burberry and it's damn near bulletproof, looks amazing, and gets compliments constantly. You can tell it was built for functionality first, and the fashion followed. Modern trenches chase after lighter easier to care for clothing, and often wind up being wasteful in materials used and quality.

They made it more wearable for the normal day to day outfit nowadays. Actually alot of people didnt liked the thick and quiet heavy coat and wanted something more lighter to put over your suit for example in breezy autumn or spring weather.

Important thisng is maybe vintage's model is flare shape more than kensington. And one pannel sleeve makes shoulder natural. That is why i find vintage's model

Cool. Another notable change with the pockets is that a lot of the vintage burberry models have the flaps that button over the pockets to keep them protected, which most modern versions do not. Looks like your coat has the flaps.

I have an LTO 6 drive myself, it also seems to overall handle LTO 5 cartridges faster than LTO 6 specially during writes (with BeFe or MP), LTO 5 i can get 100+mb/s and with compression and adequate data for it 200-300mb/s on LTO 5 all of them LTFS formatted, i don't like using the old ways seems a little too much work for what can be done with windows explorer and drag and drop i don't even mind the slower write speeds for the sake of quick and easy access also playing videos straight off the tape. Also feel like LTO 4 is too small for my needs at this point even LTO 5 is too little data but if you already have one and access to cheap tapes it's still decent :)

IA-64 is dead, even Intel said that. The future looks to be ARM, for better or worse. At least we'll have a real RISC machines available, not this Frankensteinian contraption Intel is currently selling.

I think so, there's a ofppc port of NetBSD I think. Never tried, never bothered. Linux seems to be bigger on RS/6000s than BSD Unix.

The only one that really worked (fullscreen) was vo sgi. There was also one suboption under SGI for TRAM enabled MGRAS graphics, but each time I tried that, the X server crashed so I stuck with the software colorspace conversion+texture mapping. I think VPro graphics does color conversion in hardware, so it might use a lot less CPU. Can you find out?
