Lovely car control, easy on the equipment, courteous and courageous. The best there ever was.

For me the greatest ever was Ayrton Senna but the best was defiantly Jim Clark. And senna himself said Jim was the very best.

Unintelligible Scottish accents. How the hell is anyone supposed to understand this garbled dialect?

Porsche of Great Britain had RU-vid videos with a Scottish presenter. I have no idea what they were about.

Jim died before I was born but his life and story for many reasons has a profound impact on my life ... not sure why but it’s as if he is that boy we were all friends with and loved .... normally I would not be emotional about someone I’ve never met let alone from outside my time but it goes to show how special Jim was ..,. Thanks for the video .,, really enjoyed the yarn

Jim wouldn't want it of course.....but there should be a statue of the greatest racing driver ever outside that school

Thank you for adding something new and, in a way, something old for it had more from his mates back home.

JIM CLARK - By far the greatest driver ever - no doubt. He is and was the Best of the Best. No other driver in history until today was so superior as Clark. This man is the Olymp of driving - the Michelangelo of racing - a dynamic art at the highest level. So smooth, so precise, so fast....simply out of this world. One, who won in Spa by 5 minutes (!) in monsoon rain with only one hand at the wheel (!) because of gearbox trouble...One, who takes back a complete lap (!) in Monza and back into the lead... One, who took pole on the original 22,8 km Nürburgring track by 9 (!) seconds and more....One who won Indy by 2 whole (!) laps...For eternity and by lightyears unmatched in the sport. That`s just four examples of his mesmeric unique genius...Above all, a Gentleman and the perfect Sportsman. Quite simple, a nice guy.

Thanks for the comments, not something that I knew much about so learned quite a lot whilst filming this even though Jim Clark's home was just a few miles from where I live.

eastofeastside Once you realised Ayrton idolised Jim and wanted to recreate his success at least in F1 and emulate his driving habits, you realise just how hard that was. Then think about the other motor sports classifications he raced and won championships in. He was in Ayrton’s words “the best of the best”.

@eastofeastside very different eras but Clark was universally liked by all the drivers, he raced incredibly cleanly and he was unbelievably fast in anything, he used to drive local cars when they travelled, he won the British Touring Car Championship, Indianapolis, the Tasman Series 4 out of 5 times, won his class in the Sebring 12 hour in a Lotus Cortina, won the F2 Championship, apart from breakdowns in his final race of the season while leading he should have won the WC in 62 and 64. Would have won in 68 if he hadn't died in a race he wasn't trying to win because of car failure. He also came I think 2nd in class at Le Mans and had 2 x 2nd places at Indianapolis. The Americans loved him as well for some reason. In a F1 race he led from the start, got a puncture, stopped, got lapped while he was in the pits. Came out caught up and unlapped himself then caught the whole lap up again to take the lead then ran out of petrol on the last lap and coasted over the line in 3rd
