great question, honestly, in and out through the nose is what scientific research has found to be most beneficial. Its ok to do in through the nose out through the mouth but just be mindful you're not straining to exhale completely. xx~LL
I am attending my first Pilate tower class tomorrow so this video has made me feel more confident. No idea if I will be able to do all of those exercises but I am up for the challenge. It looks easy but I know it isn’t because the tension is what makes the movements very difficult 😢Thank you for your help 😅
Equipment is often made for the type of Pilates that is going to be taught on it. So, I haven't used it, however, from what I know its great quality. But, you may be limited on what you can and cannot do on it. So when shopping you want to consider the Pilates you would be doing on it. xx~LL
My program eLevate is a mentorship program for teachers. If you're already a teacher and want to learn Pilates the way it was taught to me you can take a look and see if my mentorship is right for you at lesleylogan.co/elevate there are currently only 2 spots left in 2025 rounds.
Lesley!!!! Thank you so much for what you’re doing!!! This is so helpful and I can’t wait to make it, use it, and learn more!! Also, y’all are the cutest!❤
Thanks for explaining! I always thought the scoop was pulling belly button to the spine which I can never do, I feel like my tummy pooches when I teaser instead of getting sucked in and up!
Hey Jenna, that is was people will say to get a "scoop" but its not considering all body types. Also, it not entirely accurate. Ideally you're reaching so much up from your waist and so much down from your waist that your center get longer and that can create more space. Will it be a scoop...still depends on a body type. So, focus more on the length of your flexion/spine in your teaser and less about just the belly button to the spine. xx~LL
@@OnlinePilatesClasses thank you! That helps a lot. I tried to work on that with my teaser at my classical reformer class today in Scotland. It seemed to work better for me. I guess finding length when doing Pilates is a good thing!
Contrology is my fav! The design is so close to what joseph Pilates created. I got to even spend time on the one it was based on that's over 40 years old and its so amazing! SOOO Contrology is what I recommend. If you want my discount link its in the show notes on this vdeo. Or dm me on IG and I can help you xx~LL
Love this! I would like to make a Ped-O-Pull. Hope you have some ideas for that! I made all of my Gondola and Maple polls and often gift them to my Teacher Training students when they test out.
the poles are such lovely gifts!! A ped o pull .... yes I've seen people hand make. I'll go into more detail in a future live. But the cost of the metal if not readily available where you live plus the shipping of that length.... actually cheaper to buy the contrology one :) xx~LL
What a great class! Thank you! I just tried this on my new Wunda Chair that I built myself =) Always good to try a new instructor for great tips and corrections!
really love the point you make about the placement of the arm not being on the apex but just past. i just tried this on my spine corrector and wow its a game changer. thankyou for sharing
probably not. I'm not a yoga teacher. And I've put out plenty of Pilates workouts. For those who want more we I have a membership. We also have a great community and give feedback on form! xx~LL
This might actually be my favourite live so far. I like to teach those foot exercises, though I have only done them on a mat, not a 2x4. I am hypermobile and my right foot is the most hypermobile one which is my problem child for sure. I am excited for the sandbag video next week.
Hey thanks for the feedback, I'm naturally a fast talker. But, I am always working on it. However, hopefully you can use captions. Or in YT settings you can slow the speed down too :) Also, all of my videos have a blog that explains info and we have flashcards that have it as well. xx~LL
Your instructions reflect your exposure to vintage pilates or Joe's Contrology. I love referencing your videos when I need the pure form. The safe form. Thank you for this video, for sharing about Jay Grimes.
unfortunately to jump you will need an 86" which isn't awesome. 80" is best for you! honestly, I have an 80" because its better for my pilates and use a rebounder for jumping :) best of both worlds xx~LL
Lesley, did you say to try this for 9 days or 90 days? I do this sequence once a week in between other workouts, Its been very helpful to have new tips.
ohhh its been a bit... I probably shared that I did it for 90 days straight. But, this is a full advanced workout and just the straight up moves. If you want tips on connections or use of props our OPC classes have a new theme each week using this order as our framework xx~LL
awe yaY! welcome to Pilates! I have hundreds of free tutorials and some classes you can enjoy! And if you want feedback on your form or personalized tips join us at OPC! xx~LL
Im 143 cm, often vertically challenged. What reformer pilate machine would you recommend, especially for those who are to the smaller side of the height? Your recommendations would be greatly appreciated! ❤
