He's not wrong. Finances are a stressor not because people are poor - everyone's young and poor at some point - but because how people view and/or treat marriage as less valuable than material comfort.
Oh wow. I just did this a couple days ago. And I woke up with this playing on my phone. My dearest Christian sister and I had a story god told me to jump in the into 😂 the spiritual pool with her. My dearest soul sister that I could trust. I felt so humbled that we both were working on things that can’t be shared to others. I feel so much better that we could to trust each other and had the exact thing going on. Thank you Jesus

I’ve watched a lot of Focus marriage “advice” videos. Just take a step back and one can’t but help come to the conclusion that marriage as a relationship is messed up. I’ve come to the conclusion that 21st century American marriage (even what’s described at FotF) is not Biblical at all. FotF is just as much suffused with egalitarianism as any leftist.
Interesting how we accept that everything worth keeping/ achieving requires work (our careers, sports, etc) but often think marriages should just work and should be easy. Thanks for reminding us that a good relationship needs cultivating

Check out the video called It's Not About The Nail. I'm a woman and I find this attitude is so annoying. If you can fix it and you're just talking to complain about it, why? If you can't fix it and there's nothing you can do about it, (like a chrinic illness) that I get. But you have an issue you can fix and you just haven't done it or don't want to do it but what you want to do is basically, complain about the situation rather than resolve it. But goodness forbid that this person who cares about you and is listening to your troubles would want to help you and make your life easier. No. Women, we need to do better. Yes, the guys are care about us and try to work with us, but this is just a bad way to be. It stresses a marriage and reduces communication to 'just sit and listen without trying to change or fix anything.' Then when I want you to fix something about you that I'm complaining about, that you should immediately do and you should be able to tell the difference between me complaining without wanting you to fix something and me complaining and wanting you to fix it. Because, you should be a mind reader. No. If you are venting without trying to resolve a situation or learn something from it, in general it's just complaining.
