Christianity do not "Oppress women" If a woman is a Christian she is under Christ Lordship and his authority which he gave all believers, it's the key. According to Luke 10:19, believers authority. Christ do not Oppress, he sets or makes us free! In righteousness you shall be established: you shall be far from oppression, you shall not fear from terror. It shall not come near you. Isaiah 54:14. With all that said to keep in your heart. Woman we live in a fallen world, we do have alot of strengths under valued or unrecognized. We do face some very hard things and feel invisible and misused. Why was this story told? Because God knew many women, young girls and even young boys would go through this horror.(maybe not as far as the cutting). It's not just a story it happens. I went to high school with Daphne Moss. I remember that she and I were the only two black students in our AP European History class and how we would always choose each other when their were partner projects, to the. dismay of the white students who wanted us to integrate with them! We got a kick out of finding ways to integrate Black people into our discussions whenever we could! I was so saddened when I heard that she had taken her life; but after hearing from her baby brother, I know that her life was a blessing.

I appreciate Dr. Lyons recognizing how patriarchy is not inherently bad or negative. But it seems there is a strict adherence to this negative cultural connotation used throughout the discussion despite her comment inviting more nuance into the perspective of the word.
Father God, thank you I may know your decrees in order to live by them. Nevertheless I ask for forgiveness of every selfrigtheousness, not being willing to act out of arrogance thinking to be better or of more worth than another, not being naïeve either to go along with the thinking of lukewarm christians. In accordance with this word and isaiah 65:5, 2 corinthians 6:14-18 I bind to hell every fear of people being different than one while binding one to accept people being different than one in my life, the lives of my family, friends, colleagues, neighbours, acquitances, opponents, the children I teach and the body of Christ, binding to hell every unequal yoke and common share with anyone lacking desire to accept people being different than one while desiring to fear another being different than one, in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah, glory to God ❤.

Well, I don't exactly agree, because God does have principles, like not murdering, and when a political party support abortion, and God truly cares for the innocent baby being aborted, then God is not with a group of individuals that say abortion should be permitted. So, one must think about these types of things. I'm neither Dem or Rep, but I am for the things God approves of, and currently, based on policies, The Republican Party seems to be representing things that God is for, while the Dems seem to have fallen way too far left, and the current condition and inflation in this nation transpired over the last 16 yrs, most of which, the Dems controlled. The only time frame we actually literally had recording breaking benefits they helped this Nation, was when Trump was president. So I don't get down with the hate propaganda against him, us Americans and Christians are far too intelligent to be fooled.
Abortion isn’t the only issue God cares about. The rampant corruption and greed in the republican party and their policies offends God too. Taking away health care, striking AA/civil rights, tax breaks for the wealthy, defunding education, Immigration laws etc. The only reason people can pretend the republican party is godly is because they use Christian lingo so they sound Christian on the surface. But by their fruit we can tell it’s a different story.
