Can you use hobby came instead of lead came? Do you cement the lead came?

I just tried with leaves but the patina seeped through the sandwiched glass. How do you avoid that from happening?

Hi, thank you so much for inspiring me. Can you please share the link to the scraper tool you used? It looks like a smooth glide for the foil.

Thanks for sharing your techniques and beautiful leaf patterns. Sometimes I feel like I need four hands when attaching the jumpers. What gauge of wire did you use for the larger leaf?

I have watched this video three times in hopes that I'm not missing the answer I'm looking for... and I don't think it's in the video, so here it goes: When you're setting flowers in one section of a multiple piece project, the thickness level is different on that flower segment, correct? Is there a way you ensure that it's level with the rest of the glass? Or do you have a preference in how to solder that piece with the rest (ie raised side outward facing?). I designed a little decorative stained glass frame for flowers, but I'm a bit confused if I need to establish the clear glass over the whole piece or if it would work just to layer the floral segment. (My design currently has regular stained glass as the backing as opposed to entirely clear layers.) Thanks in advance, and thank you SO MUCH for this video. It's so helpful, and was able to use the links you offered for supplies to get myself started. x

Hi, great video. How do you avoid condensation building up on the glass when you use the soldering iron? Thanks
@glassypatterns4289
@glassypatterns4289 9 месяцев назад
Hi! When I do this method I only use paste flux. Liquid and gel causes leakage and condensation. Also, when you burnish your foil it needs to be done really well. I use a kitchen scraper. 👍

I camt find plain flat clear glass on Amazon, only colored and/or textured glass so I came here hoping that the glass you use would be on your list of supplies used. Could you kindly point me in the right direction for the type of glass you use for pressed flowers? Thanks!

Thank you so much for this tutorial! I want to make my own glass medallions instead of bying them but they're for wearing as pendants so I don't think I can use solder that has lead in it. Any idea what I can use instead? Thanks!

Baking soda. Make a paste. Flux is an acid. Baking soda removes and neutralizes the acid in flux. Save a lot of money. Many more "secrets".

Are your flowers already dried? Or do you put them in freshly cut? Wouldn't they deteriorate or something if there's still moisture?
@glassypatterns4289
@glassypatterns4289 11 месяцев назад
They are dried already. If you put them in fresh they’ll turn brown and they would be flat enough.

I found your video as I was attempting for about the 50th time to attack jump rings to my first heavy piece and they just keep coming off(solder melting). Thank goodness I found your several of your tips are making good results happening. (This latest only one of the three fell off). Thank so so so much!

did you glue paper on the glass for your templates? or what did you use? I am a beginner and I have been using just sharpie but it wipes off and I am having a hard time getting all my pieces to fit.
