Neither of these options will do whats needed. A traffic scramble would likely work best, but the arsthetics of Sample gates is probably why its not being considered.
After reviewing the photos, the Goldenrod was MUCH too tall for April, and their were other photos of plants that were included which were stated in the Notice of Violation that should be mowed... except they should not be. One was a Garden Sorrel (perennial food plant known in French cuisine as the first spring green used in soups) and the other was Comfrey (Russian bock 17 variety), a plant often used in Permacuture fruit tree guilds as a dynamic accumulator, living mulch, habitat for insects, and a favorite of bees. They are not supposed to be mowed. Also, they are not listed in the Municipal Code as plants that should not be grown within the City limits.
Someone that lives outside the district gets to vote. And, one of the candidates gets to vote for themself rather than choosing to abstain. Not a good look for the Democratic party.
It's very difficult to hear public comment, even if the volume is turned to high on the computer and on the uploaded video. Perhaps the commission could ask the speaker to come to the table to speak. And, also somehow increase the sensitivity of the microphone in general.
No mention of Brown County State Park, McCormick's Creek, or Spring Mill State Parks, no mention of nearby lakes Lemon, Griffy or Lake Monroe or Limestone heritage. Apparently Bloomington consists of mostly women and most of them are women of color. No mention of the Buddhist stupa or many choices of churches, temples etc.
Bravo to Councilmember Sandberg for reading the email from the incoming Mayor to the current Mayor to not make any large fiscal (and other) decisions that impact her administration. And also to Councilmember Rollo for bringing to light that the administration is holding off providing information that were requested, so that the fiscal responsibility can be maintained. Very disappointed in Councilmember Flaherty that he compares apples to oranges simply to support the Mayor in pushing through his agenda during his final days in office - the argument you present falls flat. Also, it's surprising Councilmember Flaherty would take such a stance against the incoming Mayor while his wife holds a lofty position in Planning.
I'm glad that someone asked about leaves not being picked up, but this is more than about saving the City money. Yes, passing this was short-sighted as there is an issue with City code, I think it's Title 7, which considers composting outside of a bin "putricible," a safety hazard, and residents have the potential to be fined. Fined for allowing a natural process to allow their yard to revert to a forest rather than mowing or raking and placing into bags that must be hauled away.
It seems there is a lack of understanding of the history of these commissions, what was going on at the time each commission was created. Where's food? That was a reason for this commission, that the Environmental Commission doesn't include. Sad when those included in making decisions are ignorant about the community they're supposed to represent. Maybe ask the person who helped create this commission, and who is still on the City Council. Very frustrating to watch, especially since wanting to bring students in, yet again. Who will actually reach out to those of us who have previously worked in and made changes from the grassroots level? Look at sustainability from the perspective of what does a city need - food. Local food.
Wondering if anyone from the public can attend this workshop. Also, I've not viewed anything on the city's website or on the FB page, that provides any specific information about working groups or what specific issues this commission is working on.

Climate change is a hoax. You're putting a burden on people that use gas powered equipment, for "sustainability". You will drive people out of the city, therefore, businesses will lose money. One must think about consequences before their actions. Oh well, I'm 40 and I still learn the "hard way", sometimes. Hv a tremendous weekend.

I find it interesting that griffin reality is interested in assisting with bidding for the police department. These landlords and out of state contractors are hurting the originality of this town. We need more public awareness of the local politics. We need to pay attention and vote accordingly.
I appreciate the consideration of Cascades Park transportation. I say keep it open…there are areas a car can pull over and park to have access to the south part of the park at different sections. The sidewalks/walking paths have been increased for family walking/strollers, wheelchairs. For the first time I have seen and walked up to the falls and they are accessible. Areas that could be worked on is the road south of the bridge, and the wall of the creek needs strengthened.
So many bad ideas on traffic in Bloomington. Making College and Walnut two ways is an awful idea. Removing the stop signs on 7th was a bad idea. Because of the parking meters I rarely go downtown now. So when I came to 7th and Washington, driving south on Wash., I didn't realize you had removed the Stop sign on 7th. Nearly got side swiped by an SUV. You can't expect people who've lived here for 50 years to expect dramatic traffic changes like this. When the students are gone, no one is using the bike lanes. Has anyone on this committee ever tried to drive down either College or Walnut street with stopped beer and delivery trucks taking up an entire lane? Who cares what they did in 1956? Now, you need all 3 lanes to go down Walnut and College.

Speculating, yet wondering if the Mayor wants to keep money in the general fund to then be directed to the Showers BPD renovations, which I've heard are significantly more than what he told City Council it would be to get the approval for the purchase. Seems some fiscal mismanagement coming home to roost that is being pushed onto the residents.
Very frustrating that the Hawthorne-Weatherstone Greenway proposed has so much opposition, and had misunderstanding that there would be a part of the project a safe crossing point at Hillside. I never received notice as I am 2 blocks to the south of the neighborhood, yet have used this area for years, for 5 years used it for commuting to campus. The area proposed for this Greenway through Deer Park is the safest of the entire commute and should not be taking money away from areas that actually NEED the money for increased safety. The way finding signs are sufficient in most of these areas, except for crossing the busiest streets. Also, add survey's about these projects that can be shared on social media instead of adding more meetings.
