Hello Maico. I had this test today with a GSI 39 machine. The technician shoved/pushed the device really hard in my left ear. Is Pushing hard a normal practice? or should it be done gently? Now I have pain and soreness in outer ear.
Dear Gogadev, in order to achieve a high measurement quality, it is necessary to get a good sealing of the ear canal for the measurement to run smoothly. The probe is inserted into the outer part of the ear canal. Since the skin in the ear canal is very sensitive, this may be a little uncomfortable and may cause a pressing sensation. During the measurement, you may also experience a feeling of pressure. However, you should not experience any pain. If the pain is not gone after a few hours, we would recommend seeing a doctor to check the ear canal. The device you were tested with belongs not to MAICO. GSI = Grason Stadler. Is there any way to have the conditioning start at 25db instead of defaulting to 50 to start? Not everyone needs conditioning and this uses a lot of valuable time when doing mass screenings. @MAICO
Thank you very much for your feedback and your interest for our easyTone product. In the current version of the easyTone we do not offer the setting to change the default level of conditioning. Dear Doaa Galal, It depends on the measurement protocol you're using for performing the screening. The default protocol requires 3 out of 4 frequencies to pass (be green) for an overall pass of the screening.
