There’s numerous servers at any time of day.. problem is people get used to the old stuff. I’ve played AoE 1-4 and I’ll pick the 3rd and 4th over the others any day.
I abandoned AoE4 multiplayer because I was playing Byzantines and there was litterally no way to defeat the Ottoman free units forever strategy. Plus the bombard was broken as hell. Still havent checked if they fixed it.
The game had promising elements but it just had fundamental flaws that never were going to get adressed Game looks bad too imo, its hard to see whats happening on screen Then they added 8 copy paste civs diluting the already low quality of the game I personally would much rather play aoe2

Personally I was just overwhelmingly disappointed by the graphics. They were for a mixture of AOE2 and Warcraft Clone graphics whilst I, and a lot of people, were BIG fans of AOE3's detailed oil painting look. With ALL the money Microsoft had I was expecting graphics at MINIMUM on par with Anno 1800. THEN there's the problem with the gameplay but my comment is already stupid long so I'll stop here.
