My channel documents and shares my collection of electronics from the 1930's through the 1980's. I'll also do a "how-to" video from time to time and share helpful tips on repairing vintage radios, TVs and record players and even an occasional car repair.

That is one reliable fan. At least it still working good after all these years. I have the same fan except its a Galaxy brand. These will outlast modern fans. That could use some cleaning, but still runs perfect.

Now the vintage appliances are definitely the one and only last resort. This dishwasher would much better than a new Whirlpool, LG, Samsung, GE, or any big box store appliance manufacturer. That would replace a new GE dishwasher that broke. Kitchen remodeling was never my thing especially with appliances, after I realize that the new appliances people buy from home improvement store, like Lowe's or Home Depot, are meant to break after less than a couple of years. You can look for vintage whirlpool fridge and a fridge with a kitchen. That is definitely and has been a great serviceable dishwasher compared to today's junk.

It is a very cheaply made stereo. It was perfect for me when I was seven years old...honestly any name brand all-in-one stereo from the eighties will sound better than this. If it weren't for sentimental reasons I probably wouldn't pay more than $10 for it.

Never heard of this bridge before! Interesting thought: there was a POW camp near Anchor Lake during WW2. Not sure where exactly. Makes me wonder "what if..." Editing my post because I've been thinking about this: covered bridges are common in areas where there is risk of freezing in the winter and where it would be necessary to keep bridges free of ice. That just doesn't happen much in South Mississippi, so there's really no necessity of a covered bridge; thus, it seems like it must have been built by someone unfamiliar with the local environment. This is why I thought of WW2 era when there were folks staying locally who would not know such matters. Or perhaps it was built by some newcomer nostalgic for their homeplace up north. It's interesting. And I'm really quite curious about when and why and who now. Really, thank you for posting this short video. Perhaps you could specify which subdivision?

Been keeping an eye out for an 8 track machine and recently lucky enough to find one a neighbor was giving away. Pioneer stereo recorder, H-R99 was like new except for metal case part, which I resprayed. Face is perfect, just needed a little clean-up. Had to go searching for an 8 track tape. Found one and the unit worked. Needs a little internal clean-up and already got new drive bands. Now I can listen to the 8 track I and some friends recorded in 1982. Couldnt risk that one on a test.

I just completed this very difficult task. I released the tensioner spring to enable me to get to that bracket's second bolt easier to get it loose. I took out the other bolt and swung the bracket out of the way. Unfortunately, I started this task by dropping the entire rear end thinking there was no way to change it without getting this out of the way. Maybe it would have been possible but..... And now I just read the comment from 7 years ago. Stand it up!! That would make it MUCH easier!

Why would you want a mower without a Briggs engine? The only other choices now are Chinese and electric. Given those choices, I'd go with the Briggs. You're complaining that it won't mulch tall wet grass? Um, NO mower (other than commercial) will work well in that situation. I have a side-discharge only mower with the 125cc engine. I mow dry grass, and it works fine. Never bogs. If you want to mulch, mow more often, and wait till the grass is dry. If you want to mow tall wet grass, use the discharge chute. Use the mower as it was intended, and it will be fine. Re: Briggs plastic carb... they work fine unless neglected. None of them work well if neglected, but I have to admit, the plastic carbs will gum up quicker than the older metal carbs. I'm guessing it's due to smaller jets they had to use to meet the EPA regs.

@gearhead366 buddy, I'm not ragging on Briggs & Stratton, just relaying my personal experience. I will say that the plastic carb on this Murray has performed satisfactorily. After having too much trouble with them on two mowers made around 2015 I wasn't optimistic when I purchased this one.

This is the same set that was featured in a 1961 episode of Hazel. Hazel's TV goes on the frits, and George offers to buy her a new set. He's willing to pony up $189.50 for a black and white set. Hazel decides she want's a color set. So she takes his money and adds to it, then makes payments on her new color TV. The whole neighborhood (including George's son and wife) cram into Hazels room to watch color TV. After George feels abandoned by his family he breaks down and buys a color set for their living room. Imagine a house in 1961 with 2 color TVs! I imagine Hazel had the table model version (with remote), but this was the one they had in the living room. The name of the episode is "What'll We Watch Tonight?". It was in the first season of the show and the only color episode filmed in the first 2 seasons. The show aired on NBC, which at the time was owned by RCA. The episode was used to drum up interest for color television.
