SMR2 was going for a very different art style in the first game. A more ‘Storybook’ adventure type art style. Though because squaresoft was a bitch we had to switch the name.
0:13 I am wondering if we all had a collective hallucination and that this may have been actually an object (like a parasol standing there), not an actual person there.
The Title Screen logo is still in the game, in the Aegis fight when he put on the golden mask (old Evermore logo) and create doppelganger of your Wolfdog. Great Video with alot of changes compared to the final version, especially the last Cutscene with the Waterfall is amazing.. Great stuff, thanks alot.
I feel like if this resurfaces, someday, not much will there be a difference between the final and beta version. The 60% of this game was moved to a new system, meaning everything is set in stone into development, but we wished we would get more games of Starfy underrated game. Today Nintendo finally released the Japanese versions of 1 to 3 of Starfy so I hope it catches audiences attention so it can be on the switch remastered
I wish Stage Debut was a full on game. It could’ve gotten Nintendo much money and could’ve been a better game than tomodachi life because you can interact with Nintendo characters. And use the e reader for your Gameboy
I think a proper SNES version of this could have been very cool. And, just think about how good that atomic bomb explosion could had looked on SNES its proper colour math transparency and widow masks to do that scaling ball of light effect. :-o
This is easily the most mysterious piece of beta media. In less than a year, they reworked that town into what we now call "Delfino Plaza." It's just so mysterious... the entire beta of this game is so mysterious. Like that girl, Nico, were there supposed to be more humans like her? And what about the plot of the story? Would Bowser Jr. still be the main antagonist? Or would it take another approach? So many questions, so little answers. All of this is what makes it so mysterious...
Playing through this game again for about the 10th time and my god has it aged well. Funny to think how pissed I was with this trailer when it was first shown. That Space World 2000 tech demo really did hype me up for a beefed up version of OOT. Turns out this art style really did stand the test of time.
lol I love Windwaker, but this trailer is so off the mark. Like, yes, the game has a cartoonier art style and there’s a fair amount of comic mischief to be had in the game. But this video makes the game seem like it’s one big episode of Tom and Jerry with its goofy ass hijinks 😂
