It's not clear that this policy isn't already being gamed. The use of various tools and self-reporting may lead to false evidence. On top of this, the ability of companies to benefit from greater investment if they demonstrate improvement or good results sounds the alarm for the greenwashing this important rule seeks to quell.
I would see big companies stay in the trade associations and drive the change rather than leaving these associations. It's same way investor stay invested, engage and drive the change. Big companies should lead the way in associations and share best practice with small and mid level companies.
