I went to football fest last year and saw the mock scrimmage game and it was super fun (with the notable exception of witnessing the injury that kept Kenny McIntosh off the field for the whole damn season; and he looked AWESOME in that “game” before he got hurt). Definitely trying to go again this year! LFG Hawks!!!
Um Young, Shenault, Eskridge are all competing with this guy for the 5th Receiver (after Metcalf, Lockett, JSN and Bobo)/ Kick Return job... Or no spot at all!
I’ve never heard of Anderson…..never even seen his name in fantasy stats. Far removed…far.. like Siberia….cuz Estridge muchly….bobo even more muchly….?
Sam Howell is younger than Bo Nix and Michael Penix Jr. He threw for more yards and TDs in one year then Matt Flynn did his entire career. There is no QB competition because that doesn't make sense. Geno is a decent NFL QB and getting paid to start. Sam Howell has more talent but in a 5th round rookie contract. Sam Howell was better than Jordan Love coming out of college. There's nothing wrong with him sitting for two years. Although, I doubt that will happen. Geno has competition. That's a fact.
I can’t even fathom the “Howell is starting” argument it’s dumb, most arguments for him is “he was good he just had a bad line” well Bruce young had a horrendous line and if you wanna sit up here and argue that the commanders had a worse line then the panthers ima say watch film and hope you feel dumb. Anyway, Bryce young had horrendous line play and played 16 games and didn’t throw 21 picks, same with geno. You don’t just throw 21 picks because you don’t have a good “supporting cast” like geno is starting and it’s not even close
Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers Pat Mahomes and Matthew Stafford also tapped. What's your point? It's called rhythm cueing. Just because some idiot on TV makes these comments doesn't mean they are right. It's interesting how average or journeyman QBs have loud mouths on YT. That also doesn't make them right. Same guys who made a big deal about Drake Maye's footwork when he put up 10k yards in only two years.
Hey Brendon I’ve had some concerns about our depth and already injuries at the linebacker position with Jerome baker and Tyrell Dodson. What’s your opinion on this, do you think we need to add one more solid depth piece?
I’ve never understood the Howell > geno argument. If geno is better then play geno. If geno is worse, then let geno tank so we can get a top 10 player (possibly even a better younger qb then howell) No reason to force Howell to start. Let him not worry about the pressure of starting and just learn behind geno
@@warrenjohn1307He legit won us a game…. Lock isn’t better than Geno, but let’s not act like he wasn’t thrown into the fire when he played.. He might take Danny dimes job out in NY
If you define "The Promised Land" as 11-12 wins and an appearance in the divisional round of the playoffs, then yeah, I'm a believer. But I think they're still a couple of years away from being a *true* SB contender.
Howell needs to develop and learn defenses the offence watch film and push Geno Smith I want him chomping at the bit and be sharp before he starts for the Hawks IMO that's how you need to bring a young QB into the NFL all the best QB's in history have done it this way
I don't think they need to see Sam Howell play in games to get a feel for whether he can be the guy. They're going to see this guy throw 200 passes a week in practice to 2nd team receivers over a span of 6 months. If he's throwing passes 3 yards over receivers' heads on 10-yard crossing routes, or not knowing the playbook after 4 months (like Dee Eskridge), they'll know what the deal is. Like with Russ when we had just signed Matt Flynn. After watching a month of Russ and Flynn every day, it was clear who could play and who had one good NFL game where he looked like Tom Brady.
Played behind one of the worse lines in football , dude was sacked 2x as much as Geno and Seattle’s o line was bad😭😭😭 Outside of Terry he had no real help on that offense
There’s something there with Howell. Not in terms of like super star, but kind of like geno. Maybe he could be Geno next year or the year after. Specially being in the same offense for a couple years. Had moments in Washington, but Washington is also a bad org. He did come into Seattle this year and made it competitive.
Some high upside, very fun to watch. People forget he's still younger than most of the QBs to come out of this most recent draft. Let Grubb work with him for a couple of offseasons and there's no reason this can't work.
