Fan of cruise, i just can't no longer closed my eyes on the environmental imprint of each trip. Changing sheets on beds two times a day is a luxury ....but could we just be happy with 3 times a week? Or that new and unique concept of changing when it's dirty??? Anyone tried it? I didn't looked at the statistics of cruise vs a all inclusive resort but they for sure contribute to polluted the ocean more. I've cruised couple of times when I was not poor 😂 😮💨 and loved every second of it. My favorite.was a carnival liberty boat in east carabeins at 1500$ but I was treated like the freaking queen of the queen. 3 deserts? Why not. The guy at the main dinning remembered everything that I loved or ordered. He was.from.argentina I think. Didn't get what he said once because of it strong accent but he was so nice and all smily... Even if he was away from his family for another 5 months during the IKE ouragan, sending half of his salary to his poor parents, he was happy to make me happy. What I also love in cruises is that u don't have to give tips to have a "out of that world" service. Everybody is treating like Elvis. I was really intrigued about the level of services they offer in a very perfect way. Of course I gave some extra tips to my favorite but it's not something that they will wait for. Wich make the experience more positive for everybody. But at the same time, some spend to much and doesn't keep some at the end of the cruise for tipping the "best one", they just give what they automatically take as tips for employes. I kind of miss the time we're I was packing stuff for the maids in Cuba. Panties, crayons, parfumes, batteries... Etc. Everything that they couldn't have. I don't know if I will one day be able to go on a cruise again (any invitation????) 😉 But it's definitely on my bucket.list!
There's class, and then there's luxury. QM 2 is class. That's what their clientele prefer. The kind of Regent luxurious is totally different. It's bling that coasts very close to tacky, over-the-top, right there up to gross. It's for people who call themselves wine aficionados but only drink California wines. Americans love this kind of an atmosphere the louder and tackier the better. A first class passenger on the QM 2 would opt for class, not crass. Do Americans know the difference? A few do. The rest? They're the ones who make sure you know how much money they have, and how much better that makes them.
@@matildesantos4215Watch „your“ Meghan Markle. She does not know the difference between (royal) class and cheap wannabe. Always jealous, always whining, always failing but always craving for money and fame…
They don't keep their own homes that clean, everything have to be perfect... Buy your Yacht ⛵ and cruise on that A lot of that food gets thrown to the Dolphins and other Sea life I don't think I'd like being on that cruise you can't touch nothing and staff in your face constantly asking about what you need Looks like a huge "Old Southern Plantation Ship" with staff scrubbing the area all day... Look at the staff Don't care how much money you have... Not kissing your a__ Annoying 🙄
Cannot think of anything worse being On a cruise ship regardless of quality. The thought of being stuck on a floating box where you cannot get away from people , Nightmare
I love Regent, all the ships, because of the small number of guests, from 350 to 700. I have been on 6 cruises in various parts of the world. There are so many restaurant choices for such a small number of passengers, that it never feels crowded and they have many types of entertainment. I really like taking a few days at the city at the end of the trip, like 5 days in London. I can’t wait for my next trip. I keep myself well vaccinated at all times. Interacting with other passengers is very interesting, as they are many different types. Children are rarely on board, it is an adult luxury cruise line.
Wonder if this where film Triangle of Sadness got its inspiration. There’s a great scene where crew are advised “you can not say “no” to guests.” We booked a Japan cruise later this year-looking forward to the experience.
Nice look at what goes on behind the scenes. The Chief housekeeper should not have been doing an assessment with an employee in a guest’s suite, should have been conducted in her office. Very unprofessional on her part. Looked like the guests from Albuquerque did not like the cruise director at the beginning of the meal service in the study.
You are wrong, Regent is very spacious with only 350 cabins. Of course, I have had 4 Covid vaccines, all available. Proof of vaccination was required on my last cruise.
A quick question. I am going to embark on 14th of February at Regent Explorer, Miami. This is my first time to be working on a cruiseship. I do not have a Seaman’s Book but I have already applied for it. Am I allowed to move out on a port day . Help and guideline in this would be appreciated. Thanks
Hi Amir! Seaman's book is a mandatory requirement for all seafarers, you must have it with you before joining. Well, because of this pandemic, going ashore will depend on the company's guidelines and/or Captain's discretion to allow shore leave, however, you may always ask once you're onboard. I was with Regent Explorer and planning to go back. You will definitely enjoy it there as I did. Hope to meet you there buddy!
@@itsyultime3952 Thanks for your information and I really appreciate that. As far as Seaman’s book is concerned my company is not demanding for it as this is my first time I will be working on cruiseship however I already applied for Panama Seaman’s book and got a CT letter . I will be embarking on 14th of February. I hope to see you . Best of luck and many thanks.
No worries! I was already onboard Explorer when this pandemic started but, because the cruise operations were suspended at the time, I am onboard cargo ship as of the moment but I'll be going home on 14th Feb so I might join Explorer again in May or June. See you there! Take care and stay safe!
It depends as many passengers do not debark for excursions. So what is your job? I had a cross Atlantic trip in early 2023, but cancelled as my disabled husband died. He often liked to stay aboard when I went on excursions. Like when I went scuba diving.
Hi Bert! If I'm not mistaken, passengers are assigned to the nearest muster station and lifeboat where their cabin is. If you are travelling with your family, you and your family will always be assigned on the same lifeboat. I hope I answered your question.
