Here in Brazil, large brass bands performed this piece, the one that performed best was the Corporação Musical Lyra de Mauá, from the city of Mauá, in the state of São Paulo. And this performance has a lot in common with Lyra's performance, with a lot of strength, a lot of "grip", at the same time with incredible expressiveness. Of all the performances I've heard, from groups all over the world, yours is without a shadow of a doubt the best! Bravo! Bravo!

My high school band played this piece in 1962 at a concert called Music for Spring in Toronto Canada at Harbord Collegiate Institute when I was only 14 playing with my 9th grade string group.Thank god it was all preserved on a vinyl disc recording to be enjoyed forever long before You Tube.I am now 74 and living in LA and still L l love the piece.Great job with hard trumpet part!

That's cool. Our high school band also played this a lot, back in & around the mid 1980's. I was Sousaphone/tuba. I do not think our teacher recorded any of us though, but maybe he did with a future class. Time flies, from when this was first played in the 1920's, then your band in the 60's, my band in the 80's & now we're listening to on the world wide web in the early 21st century. And it will probably keep going 500+ years from now.
