In my opinion, the "buyer's market" phase of the Pokemon economy is closing fast. Even the least desirable booster boxes from the S&S block have risen to the point where there's minimal short-medium term opportunity in buying-in now. There's still some remaining opportunity in buying ancillary products like 3-pack blisters and build&battle boxes for certain S&S sets if you can get the price per pack down below $5, but I don't expect that to last much longer either. I bet all those naysayers who were dumping all over S&S investing for the past 3 years are feeling pretty stupid right about now.
I mean I can still buy a case of paradox for 510 imagine if you could still buy any sword and shield at that price I feel like the summer is always a great time to buy twilight mascarade at 525 a case these are still buys imo
Ohh and speaking of 151 UPC. I had a tik tok account I forgot I accidentally opened one. Had a $60 off of 180 and $30 off of 80.. it came out to about $195 including tax for 3.
Just picked up my first paldea evolved bb for 120$ usd after tax, not a huge deal to me if it gets a reprint but seems like a pretty desirable set. My tip is to look on marketplace atleast once a day for deals, last month i picked up 4 evo skys sleeved packs for 10$ a piece and they go for 18$ and climbing
Yea I haven't purchased much in the past month. I need a couple of months to regenerate funds. My aim is September for 151 english anniversary (possible reprint) and holiday season.
I have stopped buying Pokémon since about Feb. I consider myself a collector first, but I have been buying MTG universes beyond collector boosters. LOTR and Fallout (mostly because I am huge fan of both and know those are very strong IP and following. I bought a case of Fallout for $1400 from my LGS and a collector booster is flirting with 700 just a few months after release. The LGS owner and I talk a lot and he said there is no chance they will reprint fallout, likely because of the serialized bobble heads. I’m thinking of grabbing some Modern Horizon 3, but I’m a bit scared cause I just don’t know magic enough and if they’ll preprint that into the ground.
Crown zenith. Please buy more. At one point when i didnt have enough capital i said to myself I would liquidate everything i had and buy just evolving skies. I knew it, i got a lot but im very greedy so always need more than i got. The room for price to move is a lot. I stil have not done my video on CZ, but its very much the best set in terms of growth potential short and long term. The plays are fewer but they exsist. You have to believe in a set if you dont see it or believe then thas ok, we all miss things for many reasons. I like money and this is going to be a great return.
@@PokeProfit if I showed you what I had you would be more bullish, helps to know the person behind the move. I watch people and feel the same, of course i direct the decision, in many ways. I'm not satisfied with my first discovery. I'm always wanting the best points in making my committed Goals.
I mean if by no deals you're looking at just cost dollar average then yes the deals are moving away from us and it all seems to be slightly over market, because of rhis lacking reprint you pointed out. For terms of a set that hasn't caught up to the market drying up that's CZ, despite all reprints the singles and the sealed continue to get absolutely demolished, it all getting scoped up, case prices being a thing of the past. As low as 450 half a year ago or more and now you won't get cheaper than 850$ can. They are not coming to market. i had to pay 800pre tax for cases at my LGS, probably last set of purchases because it's going too way more very soon. It has yet to make the jumps these other sets are making, it's second price impact is arriving shortly.
I've been a sealed Pokemon collector since 2010 and I doubt I'll ever stop. It's like owning a Pokemon time capsule. You also become the favourite uncle 😅 what a journey!
Shadowrider Calyrex is a really nice artwork, its a VMax alt art (ie a secret rare pull) and, most importantly, its one of the few Mitsuhira Arita-drawn Alternate Arts of the SwSh era. I dont personally own it (doubling/tripling up on others was a much better play for me) but i see the appeal.
I know you don't make investment decisions for others and everyone should make up their own mind, but do you think chilling reign at $258 a box, lost origin at $235, fusion strike at $230 and silver tempest at $158 a box is still a good price to invest in these sets, and are all of them out the reprint window? I can currently buy paradox rift for $94 a box, temporal forces for $107 and paldea evolved for $129...which is why I think i should go for these sets - Keep up the good vids !
I personally would buy Paradox Rift at $94 all in over TF and PE at those prices. I’m personally avoiding buying more PE until after a reprint comes. If it doesn’t, I’m happy with my position. CR at $258 is insanely expensive. I’m sure you could find it much cheaper than that if you look around.
I haven’t opened any of the booster boxes, premium collection boxes, etb’s etc this year. I started collecting again in January this year. I have an awesome collection going. Plus I have always stood by scarlet and violet. Even though it’s not a popular opinion.
peoples are not at the same stage in their journey, its been what 4 years of burnt pokemon and its still growing alot so i really dont think so, its not mtg type of pop, its like 1000x that cycles will be fine
I think chilling reign is bottom tier of the top set. For me it’s ES, FS, LO, and then CR. On the other note, I absolutely love the colored booster boxes. Makes them stand out drastically compared to the common white
That Zeraora V is simply beautiful artwork in my opinion, and it's very hard to pull. This set isn't Crown Zenith... it makes complete sense to me why the card is worth $60+ ..
LO and B* had a small restock (not reprint) where shops could buy bundles of stuff no one wants to also get a booster box. It's super common right after sets sell out. Once it's depleted it'll go back up
Cool story. I traded bulk into full grip games last year during the sm boom. The spike happened while my bulk was being processed. UF was 400 when I sent it in and by the time my bulk was processed it was 600. They gone red the 400 for me. Great store to work with! 😊
