Saw your ad on SM for the first time this morning and I get ads regularly from desktop CNC companies. Yours is by far, the most promising one I have seen to date. Hoping that after 2 years, all of the kinks have been sorted out and it doesn't become a "yer on yer own" experience when I get to purchasing.
You want me to spend $3,500 for a CNC that claims 10 micron tolerances and you dare to show off it's tolerances with cheap calipers LMFAO. I and many others would buy it if you can prove professionally (Hint ask Germans) of your claims it can hold 10 microns (0.01mm), until now I'm ROTFLOL, I had hope on this.
the noise difference is climb milling vs conventional milling. the noise has has noting to do with the tool. you are hearing the backlash in the axis as the cutter is pulling the spindle along faster than the ballscrew and they are bouncing into eachother

There was a time that one could Google "Lego dimensions" and a page would pop giving precise measurements. Then Lego made "Lego Dimensions" and I'd put money on the only reason they made it was to bury the site that gave the dimensions...
It makes a different sound in each direction because it is alternating between climb cutting and conventional cutting. I’m most instances climb cutting is ideal and will result in a better finish and longer tool life.
This is amazing testing, it must have taken forever to put this together. The tiny end mills surviving tells a huge amount about the machine and how good it is. The spindle bogging down is to be expected, and even with that the results are pretty great for how inexpensive the machine is. Great stuff
The moment you said its made from steel tells me you’re not an engineer or qualified to design any machinery. This is a home brew sketchy design. Save your money and walk away from this.
I wonder if you could share the file? I'm interested to see what settings you are using, and I don't consider flying sparks to be a good thing when cutting unhardened steel.

Use option In Control then you can adjust tool diameter offset in the tool library in your controller mach4/masso g3/hass or whatever you are using. That way you will only generate code once and then creep up on the perfect dimension.
just curious how would you go about getting the Z for a new tool if the Part does not have a flat surface, would it be possible to probe the tool off the bed?
This video is missing a bunch of information required to actually calibrate the probes, such as the probe diameter (distance between probe center and tool center) and how to properly measure that. Also, the scripts that come with the machine have been edited poorly and if you're running a machine in inches, the inch based instructions are rem'd out and will cause your machine to crash if you're not careful. When editing the button scripts, replace the contents with the Software Setup Files for the DMC2. tool height button = "tool height.txt" top button = "top script.txt" right button = "right side script.txt" left button = "left side script.txt" bottom button = "bottom script.txt"
