I’m glad you found the video helpful. You can also cross their arms across their chest, but I find that if I do that, they instantly break out of the swaddle.
Lol. Believe it or not, my experience has been that they do. They’re very cramped in the womb, so wrapping them like this mimics what they’re used to. Not all babies like it, but mine have all slept really well when swaddled.
I got this as a hand-me-down several years ago, but it’s by Aden + Anais. I don’t know if they have made changes, but I’d imagine this would be the same: a.co/d/cLeiiXQ
In theory you could, but they recommend just putting water in it. I tried it with juice, didn’t fill it all the way, and it came out the top when I carbonated it. You could definitely put the flavor and ice in after carbonating.
Our first baby was like that with the Velcro swaddles. I liked using a double blanket swaddle with her, but you could also try the SwaddleUp, which is zipped up, so they are unlikely to be able to break out like that. Or maybe your baby has a future career in magic. 😁
My girlfriend’s eye doctor actually recommended the Love to Dream Swaddle Up today. Looks like we’re going to have to use one of those. Thanks for the advice
Lmaoooo in five minutes he’s gonna have his arms through the bottom and the swaddle will be over his face. Stopped using the Velcro ones because of this.
Thank you for that. My son is 8, maybe I never swaddled because he was always in my arms and I catered to any amd all bits of comfort he needed. So many people said let him cry. Let him fuss. Leave him until he falls asleep, leave him for a nap even if he cries. I NEVER DID. I held him always. I'm so glad this works and helps provide comfort for them, how awesome.
@@cassiemerrick5803 they probably were talking about self soothing to learn how to regulate emotions by themselves. It has it's time and place to do that. Not everybody can handle doing this because "it's my baby".
Great question and answer! I’d add in - it keeps them from waking themselves up from the Moro reflex. Also, it’s unsafe to have them sleep with a loose blanket (suffocation hazard), so a swaddle can help keep them warm while they sleep. @bholley253 @Cassie Merrick
😊- We had similar fun with our oldest and these swaddles. A double blanket swaddle ended up working best. We went through trial and error finding the best swaddle for each baby.
Have you ever thought about bringing Little Swimmers. Those won’t fit til they are coming close to be done with size 2. They go from size 3-6. My mother brings those for my 9 month old sister and two year old brother. Those are super good to pack with sunscreen if you plan to do something with water fun.
Yes! Great suggestion - thank you for your comment. This trip I was packing for wasn't one where we were planning to do water play. However, we recently went on a beach/pool trip where we took Little Swimmers diapers, and they were great.
