This RU-vid has been started with the permission and full knowledge of Bhikkhu Achan Pho, Abbot Emeritus, Wat Shan Mokkh, Chai-ya Thailand, Home of Bhikkhu Buddhadasa. We focus on the Supra-mundane, including and starting with Supra-mundane right view, a view that is noble and investigation oriented, rather than belief oriented.
Damn Eddie! That's amazing explanation of the phenomena when you can feel that kind of thing! Just so you know Ivan, there's a theory of autism that says the ego can't exist in autism, but ego is probably a thing that came from the pride of the psychologists more than a real thing.
we are all here because we can also be laughed at, just like this. once we can react with kindness towards others, we can also do it towards ourselves.

The discussion on Nibbita (disenchantment) starting at 47:00 is deeply delightful. In fact, this has been a big dhamma addiction for me, going back into delusion just to have the joy of coming back out of it again, over and over. Been doing that since a very young age. The missing piece for me was being told, by Dhammarato, to be satisfied with what I have already come to know and understand. That just this amount of understanding is good enough. Satisfaction must follow every step or else it’s possible to go back into the craving/dissatisfaction origin point in dependent origination. Many of us dhamma lovers get in this cycle
Here’s a relevant simile: "Suppose there were a man needing a water-snake, seeking a water-snake, wandering in search of a water-snake. He would see a large water-snake and grasp it by the coils or by the tail. The water-snake, turning around, would bite him on the hand, on the arm, or on one of his limbs, and from that cause he would suffer death or death-like suffering. Why is that? Because of the wrong-graspedness of the water-snake. In the same way, there is the case where some worthless men study the Dhamma... Having studied the Dhamma, they don't ascertain the meaning of those Dhammas with their discernment. Not having ascertained the meaning of those Dhammas with their discernment, they don't come to an agreement through pondering. They study the Dhamma both for attacking others and for defending themselves in debate. They don't reach the goal for which [people] study the Dhamma. Their wrong grasp of those Dhammas will lead to their long-term harm & suffering. Why is that? Because of the wrong-graspedness of the Dhammas.
Vegetarian and vegan also fruitarian are not killing plants your harvesting plants. And if it has seeds your actually planting the seeds and creating more plants, plants are actually designed that way. With animals your actually killing and taking its life. It doesnt want to die, your taking life. Its really about going back to source. Even animals eat plants. You are what you eat. Your excuse is you except anything someone gives you is not wise and untrue. If someone gave you a bowl of guts or doodoo would you eat it. I think not so we always choose what we eat.
I’ve approached the Dhamma from just about every angle and I can’t emphasize enough how subtle and profound Dhammarato’s approach is and how skilled he is as a teacher. If you haven’t gotten it yet, trust me, you will. Keep looking until it becomes clear. The immense and continuous delight that accompanies waking, following like a shadow all day, and lays beside you as you prepare for sleep, is invaluable. Truly life changing. Like the Dhamma, Each day is beautiful in the beginning, beautiful in the middle, and beautiful in the end.
Been going to the Eastern Sierras since I was a baby with my dad. It’s the most beautiful place on earth. But can you be satisfied with where you are, what you are, and when you are, right now? With it without the “vanlife” in the mountains. Can you be fee in any circumstance? That’s the profundity of the Dhamma.
