How do they deal with sealing the rotating piston/combustion chamber? What about lubrication of the piston? Seems to me this will suffer from the same problems as the rotary engine and the liquid piston engine X.
It's just relatively tight tolerances (0,1mm or 0.004" in retard units) between the titanium "donuts" on the combustion side. Repairman22 has a better video about this engine.
I wonder if it is possible to create a zeppelin/airship filled with gas ions in a vessel that were repelled by a centrally located electrode thus creating a artificial gas pressure that exceeds the limits of the ideal gas law in regards to density and displacement. I am not knowledgeable enough to know if it would work though.
