Keely's strength training this pst winter is the key factor here for her fast last 120 meters. Same cadence just more power than last year. You can tell by looking at her there is more muscle around her hips. Should be gold in Paris.
I know this is an Ethiopian classic, but still wondering, does anyone know what the name of the piece that is playing in the vid called? Is there even a name for it?
Keely needs to do this at the Olympics. Impose herself on Morah and Mo . Don't let them dictate from the front. But I think she will need to run around 1.54/1.54.5 at the Olympics. Think she can do it based on this performance.
What was the 'injury'? I think in reality Jakob just had a little time out because of all the family troubles including firing his Dad as coach. You don't run a 3:46 mile if you're injured or still in recovery. Jakob has been making excuses for defeats for a few years now so we are all used to this kind of talk and his refusal to give credit to his competitors. It's a shame that he does not have more worldly influences on what he says publicly given the many youngsters who look to him as a role model. Anyway, Paris is still over two months away up so he still has time to rehearse another excuse for Paris. It's annoying to me because Jakob is such a great athlete and we all want to admire him and just enjoy his performances but he is actually, as a man, a bit of a dick.
Pretty wild a guy can come back from injury and a lengthy recovery to open the season with the 11th fastest mile in human history…and it’s seen as at minimum humbling and, according to some, a disappointment.
I remember when all his glazers were saying Jakob was gonna smash El Guerrouj's records by now, 2024. Now all Jakob needs to worry about is making sure a British runner doesn't take his medal.
Watch Ingebrigtsen's tune up 3 days before Pre & Kerr's seeson leading up, & you'll see an incredibly massive difference in effort quality & accomplishment. Yared is fabulous, but..... seems too nice to really put the hammer down aggressively enough........ ( Pre results say as much........)
I rewatched race, when Kessler went out of bounds, wondering if his spike tore a hole through Cooper's shoe and punctured his toe. Thats a plausible explanation for that bloody hole he showed us.
