If you're careful the tuner holes act as pilot holes for the bigger drill bit. The issue with the reamer, as you mention it at one point, it's that the tool is tapered. You're removing more material than you need and, depending on which side you did it from, under string tension the tuner post can bend. You didn't use pilot holes for the screws of the back. A screw in wood without a pilot hole can cause the wood to split, and under tension, this split can extend and break the whole headstock. Still DIY is pretty cool and you learn new things everyday. I feel like this guitar model is perfect for that, because is somewhat cheap but still a really good guitar.

I have been in situations where I needed to rescue some dead sounding drum tracks and employed techniques similar to this. If it ain’t the right room, it’s near impossible to get the two to feel like one they simply register as two distinct sources.

Learning about the differences... I would take e604 or C414 for anything that requires more of a "live" feel to the drums... Jazz stuff, maybe reggae or 70´s funk... And Md421 mostly for more compressed sounds, such as rock and modern pop... I hope someone comment and tell me if what I think, at this moment, makes sense !!!
For those who would like to know what to listen for- listen to the 808 ‘snare’ and the guitar melody. What I found is that the snare is pushed way forward on the summer version and really reaches out and grabs the listener. The guitar also pops out and is way more animated and dynamic. Nice beat!
I have to say, every single microphone sounds like a tom, for me the most important aspect of a "tom mic" is the off-axis rejection and coloration, which almost never appears on mic test videos...
you really showcased just how much an 1176 can completely change the tone, character, and aggressiveness of a hip hop vocal. This video deserves more views (You should section it for easier skimming). The WA76 sounds nearly indistinguishable from the UA1176 (to me). Great compressor.
