Essa seleção encantou o mundo.Zico , Falcão , Sócrates, Éder , Leandro , etc ... Jogaram um futebol de arte e magia.Na minha opinião o Serginho chulapa era o único que não era craque.O Telê tinha que colocar o Roberto Dinamite centroavante titular.

It was surely an World Cup classic. A few key pointers:- 1. Brazil's 1st goal was pure artistry in display. The turn by Zico to dodge Gentile and one more approaching Italian was the work of a genius and then came the sublime finish from Socrates. 2. Referee was too lenient. The repeated fouls on Zico by Gentile would have earned him probably a red card from 1986 World Cup onwards. 3. Brazil was denied a sure penalty in the 1st half when Zico was fouled in a goal scoring position inside the box and his jersey was torn. 4. It was well known that defence wasn't not the strength or for that matter world class for this team and was mostly in disarray. But the mispass from a quality player like Cerezo that resulted in Italy Goal no 2 reflected an approach too casual for an World Cup match of this criticality. 5. Brazil No 9 was a complete misfit in that group. Apart from missing a sitter in 1st half, he was mostly out of sync with the attacking orchestra. 6. Apart from No 9, some other much acclaimed Brazilian lefends missed free kicks from striking range in abundance. This includes Eder, Junior, Cerezo, Falcao and Zico himself. Zico was the most celebrated player of the planet that time and a brilliant free kick spealist. Some if his stature should have at minimum tested Zoff from that range. 7. Surprisingly, Zico was not used as central attacking midfielder where he was so effective and celebrated. He was quite impactful in 1st half but got lost somewhere in the 2nd half. This was a great opportunity for an on field leader like him or Socrates in 2nd half to lead from front when chips were down. Zico had been and still is my all time favourite. So much skill, artistry and brilliance...pure poetry in motion but physically a bit feeble and not capable of bull dozing like more successful Maradona of that era.
Cada vez que veo estos partidos antiguos, agradezco haber sido testigo del tremendo equipo que fue la generación dorada de Alexis, Arturo, Claudio, Gary, Charles, Isla, Bose, Vargas...
