Rue Octavio Mey" is a reflective and emotional piece that paints a vivid picture of a street in Lyon, evoking feelings of nostalgia, love, and the passage of time. The song begins by describing a melancholic November scene with grey waters, a heavy sky, and mist embracing the environment, creating a somber, atmospheric mood. The imagery of the Saône River stretching through Lyon further grounds the song in a specific place, with reflections in the water symbolizing moments of introspection. The song references everyday elements like wooden benches and blackened cobblestones, likely found along the Saône near Rue Octavio Mey, which give the setting a timeless and personal quality. The inclusion of the La Feuille bridge connects the narrative to a real landmark, deepening the connection between the lyrical and physical world. A key detail is the inscription of "F" for Fursy, the band’s frontman, and "A" for Audrey, his wife, on a bench-turning the song into a personal tribute to their relationship and shared memories in this specific location. This transforms Rue Octavio Mey from just a street into a symbolic space for their love and history. The repeated plea, "C'est moi qui prie" ("It’s me who prays"), expresses the narrator’s wish for constancy and preservation of the moments they experienced in Rue Octavio Mey. The narrator desires for the place and its significance to remain unchanged, longing for eternal togetherness and love, captured in the everyday beauty of the street. In sum, "Rue Octavio Mey" combines detailed references to Lyon’s landscape and personal elements tied to the band’s frontman, creating a poignant meditation on love, memory, and the desire to hold onto precious moments in a constantly changing world.
Funny how so many ppl are complaining about being ripped off by a black metal musician expecting him to deliver some pretty evil music+lyrics at the same time. Do more drugs and scam more people dude, atleast you're not a poser! New music is way over produced...
@@te9591 Would've been a better cast...hekinda looks emaciated enough. But I can't imagine that he red "Harry Potter" or that he watched the movies. ^^
This is more black metal than most can understand. Avant-garde is not for everyone and that's fine. Just because you don't understand it, doesn't make it bad!
That was honestly so perfect, I love Spiritual Front so much, and seeing them perform this has made my day!, this is one of the best Live performances in Neo-Folk, and the ending was absolutely spectacular!!
