We are Kevin and Maria, a Fil/Am (Filipino/American) couple that met online in 2007, and married in 2009. Travel, Food, Culture, and Adventure are what we live for. When we're planning on any type of travel, we always research destinations on RU-vid. Sometimes the places we're traveling to, the videos are either outdated or non-existent. We love to share our adventures and hope you'll love them as much as we do! Please subscribe to our channel! And, remember: “Life is short and the world is wide.”
We are currently living in the Philippines.
LumpiaLife caters informative platform on life and travel; getting acquainted with foreign places, understanding the inter-cultural collides of both American and Filipinos, and experiencing all sorts of foods, and most importantly, the people. Lumpia, also known as egg roll in English, is a popular appetizer originated in Asia and is also being enjoyed by Westerns.
This place looks amazing, but I was very surprised to see a chain on the female that had the baby. I will be there in Oct excited to visit this place. Thank you for the video
Gotta applaud you guys! Wife and I always said it's too rough and remote for us! Doubt with what we're use too could even live there now. Have you guys considered Manilla? Makati or BGC. If you don't want to buy a property and rent, life is still slightly cheaper there than back in the US.
I couldn't see myself bringing my American spouse to live in the Philippines. It is fun for a while but it can get boring. I don't want to take away my husband's independence away from him and besides the Health Services aren't not good at all. You and your wife made the right decision to go back. Good luck! We are originally from the Oregon/ Washington State area.
She had spent 10 years away from home in the USA, so it was my turn to experience her side of the world in the Philippines. I made it 5 years lol. Thanks for watching! I (Kevin) am the same. Grew up in Washington but have lived in Oregon since 92. Amping always!
You made the choice my man!Getting old is something you cannot avoid! As we get older,we don’t know what health issues we may encounter.Though there are great medical facilities in the Philippines, and cheap too,it’s a matter of economics.US health insurance are not covered there. The greatest peace you can ever have is a peace of mind, knowing that you’re in safe hand in the event you need urgent medical attention in the US.Good luck and keep on enjoying your retirement.
glad you made the right decision to comeback to the U.S I cannot see my self living full time in the Philippines na little bit different compare here in the U.S 1 month vacation na bored ko oi. used yo live in Oregon klamath falls and Eugene. good luck guys
Hi good observation feels like camping. I remember Steve Monteli a blogger saying there should be a sign at the airport, welcome to the Philippines be prepared to be underwhelmed. Take care
Welcome home to the USA, just watching this video I felt sad. Reminds me the last time I saw my mom in 2019. That is the reason why I don't fell like going home because, it is hard to say goodbye's to your folks back there.
I’m glad I saw this video I have a second thought of moving to my country.. im a retired single and moving away from my grandkids is hard I’m planning on visiting next year.. Hope everything goes smooth for you and your wife! Grandkids are the best! 💗💙
Welcome back to Oregon, things are slightly on the upswing here, the gov. overturned the law that made hard drugs not illegal anymore. I think they are tackling the homeless issue and they voted out the worthles DA in Multnomah county. As someone who has lived in Oregon their whole life and does occasional videos on my vacations I don't think there is a more beautiful place to be (I've traveled half the US). You have the coast, the forests, the dunes, all things you can make videos on. Wish you the best of luck, from a fellow Oregonian :)
Thanks man! Good to be home. It's been an eye opener for sure. Definitely Oregon is a great state and tons to do and see here. Now if they can lower the cost of living in the PNW! Wow!
We just moved to Ph a week ago to escape it all in the US (rat race, media, jobs, violence, ever increasing cost of living, etc.) You however have a great reason to go back. Good luck my friend. I’ve enjoyed your videos.
Mh sister and her Filipino husband just moved there from Tarlac. My wife and i from zamboanga will be visiting butuan soon to see if we want to move there
We had no problem using Klook in Taipei and I recommend this tour! The lanterns were not included, but it was very inexpensive and you could decorate it up and get help with filming, photos and launching. Have fun!
Vross meat shop is a great place to shop at the prices are a lot less than Robinsons ,the Gaisano Mall supermarket is also a great place to shop at here in butuan ! Great video !
I believe those are remains of the East Gate of the old capital during the Joseon Dynasty. "Dongdaemun" means "East Gate" and other parts of the gate are visible at DDP.
I think it's to "wash" diseases off before entering different communities. Not really monitored, so not sure the true point except that it's the Philippines...lol
Hello. May i ask which ticket type you got and if it was worth it? Didnt you have a hard time going home? Read in some vlogs that it was a bit chaotic that some Premium/VIP ticket holders ended up riding the red trucks because they had a hard time looking for their assigned vans. Thanks!
We had the standard ticket. Seemed like a decent ticket. We were back from the stage a bit, but we could see everything just fine. The transportation was a little chaotic. More in the beginning of the trip from Maya mall. I guess we were supposed to ride a songthaew there, but ended up in a van. After the event we just got into a huge line of people and caught a songthaew back to Maya, that we ended up hiring to take us all the way back to our hotel as trying to book a Grab would have been almost impossible! Overall, I'm glad we got to experience the lantern festival. Check out the hotel we stayed at in Chiang Mai. Cute place! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oYIMI4WDofg.htmlsi=KJz9U1pxbyRiW-bb
You can catch the bus from Robinsons Mall (behind the mall is the bus terminal). Cost was ₱280 / $5 per person. It took our in-laws 3.5 hours (bus stops along the way). Thanks for watching! 👍
