I tried a 2.0 mm motor shaft and it broke. It says the original motor shaft is 2.3 mm. My question is, did you just change the pinion gear to 2.0, and with the different gearing what motor mount did you use? the adjustable one i have doesn't fit the screws of some of the motors I wanted to use. thanks for any help
Thanks for this great information. Having a small motor with integrated ESC is a good setup. This way you don't have to mount either your receiver or ESC on the center brace. Awesome tips.
I use my rubber touring car tires on my typhon grom and they work great for everything I wish arrma would make adjustable turnbuckles and camber links for these cars 😎👍
Im runnig the hpi micro rtr 28mm rims and some tamiya rally blocks with foams. And they are way better than the stock tires when running on mixed surfaces. I use the traxxas 4tec 2.0 stock wheels for parking lot and speed runs. Running the exact set up as you more or less with some hot racing things.(Steering set and adjustable motor mount) And the arrma adjustable links and shocks. And i picked up a second grom fan to mount to the heatsink blowing down. This model really doesnt need a whole lot to be fast and honestly i have my tlr typhon and my nascar felony to rip around if im feeling the need for speed. Thanks for the video. I was looking for confirmation of my settings idea to turn it all down. Also was wondering how to raise the body height to allow more heat exhaust. Love the spacers idea thanks! Im tossing some speed holes up front for intake. Still contemplating going with a castle1010 and a mxm2 combo in the future, but mostly for more settings options for tuning. This thing gives my latrax pre runner a run for its money at this size. Cant wait for the losi nascars to ship. Those are going to ve wicked.
Those little buggy are better than people think even the motor I'm used to 50mph nitro cars and the typhon grom is fast enough for me considering the size 😎👍
Have a few questions I hoped you might respond to. Did you use the stock motor mount or did you have to buy the pack of additional ones? What pinion did you use and from where? Does your receiver have AVC? If so, how does it do with the Grom?
I am running the exact gearing and motor combo. Its a 2.3mm .5mod 13t pinion iirc. In so far as the motor mount i went with a hot racing adjustable aluminum mount and mesh the gears myself. Instead of using the fixed mounts which arent always correct and have no adjustment.
Very nice track to crawl and a cool crawler to tackle the course! Great bodyshell and colour, I am not so technical but the performance upgrades appear to work well. Thank you, fun video, liked 😊
The Bodyguard trigger is not smooth at all. I'm surprised S&W hasn't modified it yet. I have not either, but do have some concern if faced with using it for defense.
I saw another video saying that you should order the low profile belt 2 or 4 sizes smaller. I wear a 34 lol so I don’t know if I should order a 34 or 30.
Yeah you HAVE to swap out the trigger on these. It's practically useless otherwise. You CANNOT carry this gun for self defense with that stock trigger imo. It's way too long of a pull and way too heavy. When I took it to the range the first time to shoot it I thought the trigger was dead. Come to find I just wasn't pulling hard enough. As always, still make sure you test lots of rounds with a replaced trigger.
That's a great price for the sight pusher. Way better than a punch and hammer! You really have to do some aftermarket upgrades to make this firearm a keeper.
Pro-Mag makes a 10rd magazine. I have not tried it though. Still a great belly/ankle gun to this day. I have removed the safety with a Galloway Precision safety elimination plug. Works great!
Yeah the trigger is hatroshes. Worse then the LCP. But with the new trigger its a lot nicer. The new trigger does nothing with the trigger pull it just makes it shorter and more smooth.
