Has any St. Helens local ever heard of Moorflat? I;m told that an old photo o Baldwin street and Co-oprative store at 50 second mark is aproximately where Moorflat was decades prior it would be now a police station according to google maps and old mid 19th century maps. That is where my 3x great grandparents resided in the mid 1800s.

The little pig at 7.55 is when I was landlady, as my sign above entrance door with aothorisation to sell alcohol is visable. This was between 2006-2010 how ,lovely coz it still had the main name The Victoria, however when the current owners bought this they removed The Victoria name and just left the Little Pig.
I'm not speaking with hindsight, but I said many years ago, and as recently as 2004, the town is going down. I said that Sthelens will be just a big housing estate with Asda in the middle of it. Thanks to the worst council in living memory, we have no character, no industry and no money in reserve. Even now, looking at these nice pictures, I'd bet the labour gang still couldn't be bothered or ashamed. They've well and truly sold us down river.

Looks like someone can't spell - there's no 'u' in bygone days. As for me, I came top of the class in spelling back in 1981...much to the annoyance of the other kids.
A town systematically destroyed by an inept and thoroughly corrupt set of inward looking, self indulgent councillors over many years. Marie Rimmer, hang your fat head in shame.
S Capistagnio was in my class in primary school. The family lived off cooper street- they are all knocked down now and the G maguire was the brother of John who was in my class in secondary school.
