You’ve learned so many valuable skills. The only one I know is making tomato sauce but I have to freeze it since I don’t know how to can. I do know how to make bread but not sourdough bread. I’d love going to a farmers market. We do have one here in Southwest Texas but it’s Sunday mornings and we are in church. Then it’s too hot after and it would be preparing to close. ~ Janet 😘
what apple trees do you have? I live in East Tennessee and my apple trees all died from cedar rust 😢 Loved your video though! So interesting and relaxing 😌
Thanks Megan for stopping by the hollow & watching our video! We were told by the previous owners that they were Fuji apple trees, but they never look like the grocery store ones. So, I can’t verify! I do know that ours have always looked gnarled & are more difficult to work with when making recipes other than eating fresh off the tree. BUT their taste is so delicious that it is worth the extra effort. We hope to plant other varieties on our homestead in the future.
Hi! Beautiful garden! Wouldn't the lid fit better turned the other way?? Anyway, I would not pay for the "lids.". I would just use old plates, probably really cheap at a thrift store. The lids don"t need the permeability of the pots since they are just slowing evaporation.
@@aribinu8910 That’s a great question! You might want to dilute the mixture with more water than epsom salt and then see how the plant reacts. I haven’t tried the epsom salt bath on that variety of fern. So, I can’t say for sure how it would react.
@@cynthiaarce6164 Hi there. This was a short companion video for a blog post I shared a while back. It’s pretty basic, but does have the step-by-step instructions. If you read some of the other answers on this video’s comments, you’ll hear more about why one would want to use this method and the benefits of soaking your ferns with Epsom salt. It also can help other plants if they are deficient in magnesium and other minerals.
That is awesome! I need to try to bring ours in before the weather change. We live in a hollow, next to a creek…so our ferns get A LOT of critters taking refuge in them. 😢 I appreciate you stopping by and sharing.

What a lovely video. It really blessed me in so many ways. My Sister passed away after a four month battle with cancer. Her tummy was hurting and she went to see her Doctor but it was too late. The cancer had spread everywhere. I used the tools you helped me with when my daughter passed away. I look forward to Christian videos and send you love~ Janet 😘

I just had your channel come up in my recommended videos, and subscribed. I'm just about at the end of this one and wanted to ask if you mind sharing the name of that music? I have a project I'm working on and would like to try this one. I do see it's from epidemic sound below. Also popped over to your blog and emailed myself how to make sour dough starter. Looking forward to more videos!
So glad you stopped by and enjoyed our latest video. Off the top of my head, I don’t remember the name of the music selection, but I do know that I searched on Epidemic Sound for acoustic guitar songs. Hope that helps and hope you have as much fun as I do making sourdough bread. ✋🏻
You can over winter them. They will drop leaves but just vacuum under them once a week. Also you can soak them in the winter as well. Mine is doing great by soaking it once or twice a week. I will try the epsom salt bath too! Thanks
Thanks so much for those great tips! I am definitely going to give them a try. I appreciate you stopping by and sharing your helpful recommendations. ✋🏻

So glad you found our channel and subscribed. You can find our recipes over on our blog…www.gracefullyhome.com The recipes for the cinnamon squares and star bread was from Joanna Gaines’ holiday magazine. Next time, I plan on using our own sourdough recipe.
Thank you, Brenda for your encouraging words and for supporting our channel through watching and liking our videos. Hope you have a blessed rest of your week and stop by again soon.
Some of this. advice was the worst I have ever heard. If you are caring for your fern properly, you don’t have to throw it out at the end of the season. My ferns live for decades, and if I handled my ferns as roughly as in this video, half of the fronds would be damaged, broken and turn brown. No wonder she is taking shears to the bottom of her ferns! Ferns are gentle peaceful plants and that must be respected in the way they are handled. Thumbs down.
I'm sorry that it wasn't what you were expecting. I appreciate you sharing your input and will definitely take it into consideration for future fern upkeep. We live and learn and it is our hope that this channel can be a place where we can all encourage one another and learn together. There is enough negativity in the world and we don't want to add to it.
Really enjoyable and peaceful video. I love having things orderly. Both my parents taught us six children to be orderly and then going to private schools it was really instilled in us. I love the quilt on your bed. ~ Janet 😘
Thank you, Joann! I learned along the way that we can still have an organized home amidst all the chaos that accompanies raising children. Wish I had learned that lesson earlier on. ;)
Beautiful, simple, country home. Your home is very inviting. Minimal elements reduce sensory overload and stress. Thank-you for opening your home to us. Have a Blessed Holiday Season!
This was such a sweet and encouraging message, Deborah! Thank you so much for your kindness. So glad you enjoyed the video. Have a blessed Christmas! 🎄
Beautiful! Happy Christmas! By chance would it be strange to ask if you remember where the pillow fabric came from? Didn't see it listed so thought I'd ask. No worries if you don't remember. ❤
Thank you so much. So glad you liked it! I found the fabric from this online store. jshhomeessentials.com/products/green-tree-fabric I bought it when it was on sale. The coordinating stripe fabric is something I had on hand and can’t recall where I purchased it. I love the way it turned out! I appreciate you following along. Merry Christmas. 🎄
Aww, thank you so much for your kind comment, Haley! So glad you enjoyed the video. Hope you are enjoying the holiday season and that you have a very Merry Christmas! 🎄
