@@Smitherrrrs there's only 2 things I can think of, first, if I remember correctly there are 2 versions of the layouts in the Akina mod (arcade/realistic), though if you are in the touge life server, this wouldn't be the issue. Only other thing would be using a skin/theme (I can't remember what it's called) for the layout. I'm sure that works for online lobbies as I knew someone who used to use a winter theme on the Akagi map
Amazing control, do you tune the car in-game at all? Somehow you seem to get more rotation out of the rear than I can, but that might also just be a skill issue
@@lollibone thanks! Yes i do have a tune for the car, so that very well could be the reason, though i remember the car feeling pretty good as standard as well. Being delicate with the brake pedal and getting a feel for how the car rotates with just 5-10% force can also do wonders, as this will be ideally how you rotate the car. Also, quick side note, having the handbrake mapped doesn't hurt, ideally you don't want to be using it at all.. but it is very handy for those times when you take a little too much speed into the corner and the car doesn't rotate as you would like. You'll still lose a bit of time, but this can help minimize the time loss a fair bit
@@Andyrew94 Thanks for the answer :) I thought you'd use more brake for the rotation so that is probably what I'm getting wrong. I've actually got a proper handbrake in the mail so I'll give that a go too, I think I'll try taking some of the tighter corners with the handbrake and see if that helps me learn the 4-wheel slide a little better.
@@lollibone yeah getting used to the braking can take a little while. Once you've got the rear of the car to swing out, try to keep the steering wheel as straight as you can and let the weight transfer do the work. For me that was probably the most difficult to get used to, as obviously when you're mid way through braking coming up to a hairpin, the last thing you think of is not steering lol. Using the handbrake to initiate the 4 wheel drift is definitely a good way to get used to it and learn the balance. Good luck with it all!
@@infanatosuks4880 keep at it and you'll definitely get there! I'm rarely in this server nowadays, but still find myself going back from time to time because the cars are fun to throw around (though some definitely need some tinkering with the setup ha)
I'm not sure about that, the power band seems to be in the 6-8000rpm range, which the shortest gear ratio seems to keep it in. Plus i just tested shifting earlier (seen your comment just before I was loading into the TL server), and even 500rpm earlier will male me slower on the straights compared to my pb's delta
why arnt you ever in acs anymore, you got all the good times and just fell off the place of the earth for acs, i already took ur #1 spot on race challenge
@@trusty-loll tbh i got a bit bored of Akina so i stuck with other servers for awhile, although the last 2-3 weeks i've not been on Assetto at all really.. Will be back on at somepoint though, so maybe see you there! :) PS - congrats on the #1 spot also :)
@@Andyrew94 you and your buddy i forget his name but it started with a k and had 98, only 2 people i know on the server that i havent beat because yall just died, been needing comp man
@@trusty-loll you should check out the Kaido Battle Tour servers, I remember there usually being good drivers there quite often to get some competition going
Well, let's be honest, you trying to chase me at Akina ;) and I still have our multi story car park rooftop drifting to make a video from lol :p Have got other replays i gotta make videos from as well, dropped the ball with it the last few weeks lol, mainly just done shorts.. But one of those videos will be an onboard of my 4:19 in the GT86, so i'm sure you'll be interested in that XD
Hahahhaa At least I can chase you decently! Dont forget Im new in Touge 😏 In Drifting Ill make you sweat like me in Touge when you are pushing 😆 But one thing is sure there is no fight, just Friends enjoying their driving knowledge 💪💪
@@Andyrew94 And hum... not interested on your 4:19 Ill prefer mine when ill finally achieve this and make myself first with that shitbox 😂😂😂😂😂 The competition will never ends
@@Kamikazi_36 hmm idk man i kept door to door with you in all our drifting round Tamworth, no sweating required, 1st time on the map too ;) haha, i'm just good at mimicking someone else's line if i don't know the course. I've learnt a few circuits very quickly in races by doing that XD And yeah ofcourse no fight, just the pursuit of faster times and nicer drifts :p
Thanks! :) I still go on that acs server quite a bit (still have a few more videos from the server that i need to get round to editing haha), so chances are we will bump into eachother, my name in game is the same as my channel :)
No no lol, this video was done on the Kaido Battle Tour servers so they're different cars, this ae86 being the tuned version that's in the game. The server we were on earlier was the acs server, the tuned ae86 in that server is a mod with some more power so it is faster
Also, forgot to mention, but on the Kaido Battle Tour servers you can't actually cheat the leaderboards like the other server, if you touch a barrier/wall, your time becomes invalidated.. So much better haha. You should definitely check those servers out though buddy, quite a few good drivers on there
