I loved our costumes back in the day with the lovely velvets and the embroidery was a real work of art. No horrible Madge Simpson wigs just our own long hair curled or short. The class costumes were beautiful too and always knew which school of dancing you represented. Then it was white bubble socks but black tights when you got older for the teams. Still have my medals and my Irish dancing doll in her costume with beautiful embroidery in a case in the attic. I miss the more traditional style of dance as it’s now like all jumps and prancing ponies. 😢. So far removed from traditional Irish Dancing.
3:11 I recently got involved in Irish dance, and I'm no expert but it seems to me she's got Michael Jackson level dancing skills and perfect rhythm. It's inspiring to watch.
