Hi Vicki. Your Shirt dress is beautiful. I just heard of this challenge this year and it's interesting to see. I have precious fabric I'm just not ready to part with just yet, but maybe next year.😅
Oh Vicki, I don’t envy you at all all. Having to choose from these extremely gorgeous fabrics is so hard. My favorite is the last one (expensive shipping 🤣🤣). Good luck 🍀 💖💖, Karen.
The Liberty print will make a fab short sleeve blouse and be very wearable. I seem to remember that pattern has lots of small classy details especially suited to a precious fabric.
Love, love your fabrics! You really nailed the fit on the dress you’re wearing. I have sewn w Tana lawn fabric and have concerns that it doesn’t have enough drape for either of the patterns you mentioned. I recommend a more structured blouse. I sewed the Fitzroy from Liesl & Co and love the fit and the sleeves have some tucks at the cuff. As for that wonderful drapey print, it is made and you have enough to make a tiered dress I’m thinking Pattern emporium Meet You There or Take the Chance. Whitney made a beautiful MYT dress. If you can’t go gathered, a wrap style dress would be lovely as well. Can’t wait to see your makes!
Thanks so much for watching. I’ve worked on that shirtdress pattern for a couple summers now, thanks for the kind words about the fit. And thanks for the pattern recommendations, I’ll definitely check them out.
Hi Vicki, your plans sound great. I hope you use the Lady McElroy fabric, I think it’s called Life in Venice. It’s so beautiful. I made a gift for someone using this fabric and have never seen them wear it so I’d love to see it being worn. Maybe a shirt dress that doesn’t have too many seams to break up the pattern? It is quite lightweight so might need a slip or lining. Good luck, whatever you do.
Thanks so much for watching. Yes, Life in Venice is the name, thanks for reminding me. It’s so disappointing when someone doesn’t use a handmade gift, but they’re probably saving it because they treasure it so much.
Love the pink, Vicki, we were together in Rochester and I bought some of the pink fabric too. I love it just as much, I have older precious fabric, but certainly could use that for this challenge. Seems more of a spring fabric, tho. Can’t wait to see what you do with it. Love, love the McElroy print, see it as a shirt dress. A fun challenge for sure. (Deb)
Thanks for watching, Deb. How could I forget our max dash over to Ginny’s to buy that fabric. Funny how you haven’t sewn yours up either. Miss seeing you on Instagram. Hope all is well. My Country Dancer rose really took off this year.
I got the same color way and was so happy I did! Although I agree that either would have been wonderful! I was supposed to get mine on Tuesday also, but my mail lady delivered it to the wrong house. I was so upset. I had to go the post office and have them look up what happened to it on Thursday. She has to go retrieve it and bring it to me. I was happy that it was unopened. I may wait until late winter to make something with it. I get the extra fabric because I am a larger woman and i like to have options. Your skirt looks great so far. I gave that fabric to my daughter because it suits her better. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks so much for watching. I’d be so upset to have my pink box delivered to the wrong house. Glad to hear you got it back. Better late than never, I guess.
Thanks so much for watching. Yes, even though it’s not finished yet, I definitely think I’d use this zipper insertion again. It’s sort of done by sewing it down and then pressing the fold in place, kind of opposite to the usual way.
Ahh ! You made my knitterly dreams come true! I was thinking how much I loved the yellow Estonian shawl and that the only thing I would wish for from a knitting show from you would be a Bohus. AND THEN you showed the Spring Bohus! Heaven. I'm a happy Viewer!
I got that one too. I get the 4 metre box because I'm slightly plus size and very tall, so I have more options of things to make that way, rather than just a shirt, skirt, or shift dress, but this month, I'm making my husband a short sleeve shirt and something for myself too from this fabric. That's what I did with the nautical print from 2 months ago, too. I decided I would do that any time I had fabric suitable for both of us.
That shall is Amazing! Perfect match for that fabric. I’ve been to Estonia. It was COLD (brrrr). Nice village with the oldest apothecary in the world! In your next video you showed the lovely dress you made with this fabric. Well done! Lovely dress. Super impressed that you’re keeping up with the sewing from these boxes…😊
How fun that you got the fabric you really wanted! Liberty fabric is awesome, you’ll love sewing with it. I received the same fabric and so did my English friend Judi! I think I’ll try and get the new FLEUR dress from Fabric Godmother out of it. We’ll see if I can play pattern Tetris and make that work1. Happy Sewing and hugs from Oregon.😊
lovely vlog. i have just found your channel. I also have the liberty fabric from my box, and i love it. Looking forward to seeing what you decide to make with it.
I was also blessed with that liberty print in my box. It is so gorgeous! And that project planner - so pretty and useful! The swizzles are a light mint flavor. Very tasty! I enjoy your videos! Your dress from last month’s box is beautiful! I haven’t made any of my fabrics up yet because I am a bit scared to ruin them. I do have plans for several of them but need to toile them first. Have a great week!
Wow. What a beautiful box. I love the fabric. I’m glad you received the Liberty fabric. You look great in the True Bias dress. I have several other people talk about how slippery it is. I dread that. 🤤❤
I always look forward to your videos! I have watched for years. I loved your shoe adventures. Please DO consider sharing what you are making more often!❤
Your shawl is beautiful & the design gorgeous but looks really complicated . You are very talented & must have a great deal of patience doing this. I was down in the West Country a couple of weeks ago & went to the shop & met not only Andrea but also Jason & they made us so welcome. Jason was at the back of the shop cutting the fabric for the boxes so I got a sneak peek at the different colour waves - all beautiful but I think the colour you got was probably my favourite. I think a dress in this fabric, together with your shawl will look super. Good luck & look forward to seeing it made up.😊
Great job on all your makes👏. The white jacket is gorgeous and the "special buttons" completes the look. But, my favorite is the shirt you are wearing, the little bow is adorable. Thank you for sharing💖💖
