Welcome to the channel Y'all! I review paddles and occasionally venture off to other products in the pickleball world. I record at my farm house but I'll randomly get the farm animals in the videos. Come kick it and watch some reviews where Twist Weight, Swing Weight and RPM's are discussed. Take it easy Farmin' Fam!
I would be surprised if Engage made the list. They have the best contact I feel I've ever tried and manage to hit hard while maintaining control, but they are getting overlooked by reviewers who are more focused on more recent paddles. Maybe you will suprise me?
@@FarmerLankyPickleball really? interesting they wouldn't say that in any of their marketing. cool though, I just bought a 12mm with the pb central sale and am pretty excited.
Maybe they are afraid the word thermoformed would scare some people away. These came out around when core crush was a big problem. Maybe they were avoiding that term. This paddle is in my brothers top 5 paddles and all 5 of his are elongated paddles
Paddletek has stayed away from thermoformed paddles and I'm assuming that's why they've avoided it as well. They figured out how to get power without thermoforming which is great since other companies without thermoforming feel like pillows lol.
😂😂😂 it'd probably have to be since Lanky is in the name lol. Realistically if it ever happened I'd do something similar to what pbeffect did with Volair. Have a paddle with his channel name on it and profits go to charity. I'm not looking for that to happen. It was just me being a goof lol
@@FarmerLankyPickleball I could tell it was in fun, but it does bring up a fun question. If you could design the ultimate Frankenstein paddle, what design elements would you use from existing paddles to create your ideal paddle?
Debated whether to go with this but decided to go with a Monarch Control and love it in the few times I've played with it so far. Would be interested in hearing how it compares the Fat Boy.
The fat boy is stiffer in the face compared to the monarch control which has a more plush face. If you're wanting more pop off of speed ups or counters I'd go with the fat boy. If you want easier resets etc I'd go with the monarch control.
Been using a Muvn 16X for about a year, just ordered the LAZR 16X (thanks for the discount code) . While I love my Muvn I think I am ready for a little more pop. Thanks for all of your reviews!
I appreciate you using my code, thank you! You gotta let me know how you like it when you get it lol. Right now it's my second favorite elongated paddle. The Paddletek TKO-C is my favorite but realistically it makes me a worse player lol.
@@FarmerLankyPickleball Will do for sure. Its not arriving for a few more days, I will post after I have used it a bit (hopefully making me a somewhat better player!).
Hey dude, I’ve played with this paddle and loved it! Yeah, it’s poppy...crazy cool I say... AND that sweet spot is amazing. I’m not a power player, but it totally boosted my drives and speed-ups. After a few games, my drops and dinks were on point. It’s not a control paddle, but they’ve got others for that. This one’s all about power and it delivers big time. The spin? Incredible - I was spinning shots with ease. It’s worth the money for killer power and control. I say finally a new spin on old racquets..pun intended . Cheers!
When put up against the Mach 2 Forza, what are your thoughts? I’m choosing between those two. I heard you on the pop. Do you think the Kevlar makes any difference? Thanks for the review!
The mach 2 Forza is for people who are massively invested in control and keeping the game slow. If you speed the ball up a decent amount I'd 100% go with the GRUVN. It just depends on the player you are
@@FarmerLankyPickleball thank you so much for that! Now a friend has me looking at the 11six24 monarch (carbon and kevlar). Have you tried it? It’s a head to head for me between the LAZR and that one. Maybe sweet spot would out put over the other?
Try Tellezs paddle, Lotto Ultima Pro 14mm, really helps upgrade my wife’s game, more depth, drives are low to the net, great pop and it looks nice. Only drawback is the sound, when I hit an overhead with it oh my, what a crack.
Lots of layers and steps involved to get these together, so the cost to make is prob higher than average. Nice review - I had a spray on grit paddle and the grit is definitely lower but it's still a good paddle. Something needs to change and I should be able to add some grit. I hope they do well but this paddle isn't for me.
This paddle seems like a knucklehead's dream. At least for the knuckleheads at my club who just like to hit the ball hard back and forth at each other.
Lol. Ya it's definitely for people wanting to smack everything as hard as they can. Just wear safety glasses against this paddle. It launchs off the face so fast.
Is the Blue significantly more plush/more dwell compared to Spartus Apollo? Is the speed difference big? I am considering trying a soft dwelly paddle, but spin is very important. I can trade some speed (up to like -25% lower). What would you recommend?
It doesn't sit on the face drastically longer but you can definitely tell a difference. It does have more dwell time than the Apollo. Ya, the handspeed will definitely be a step down. Idk what paddles you've used but if all you've used is widebody then you're going to hate the hand speed difference. But if you've used another hybrid shape then this won't be a big deal with you. If I'm not mistaken they have a love it or return it 30 day policy as well.
Looking for a paddle to add to my tournament top 3. Right now my #1 is the Apollo my #2 is DBD 16, would this be a good fit ? I want quick at the net weight with big spin and pop. Ideas ?
Seems like widebody shape with the new tech e.g. kevlar or rcf, thermoformed/foam are a really good combo. I just bought and played with the 11SIX24 Monarch Control and it is *awesome* with plenty of pop/power while also being a control monster. Curious if you plan on reviewing it, as I'd like your take on it. I was trying to decide between it and he Mach 2 Forza.
Ya I'm currently testing that paddle out. It's a nice paddle. It's definitely softer feeling than this paddle is but not as soft as the Volair Forza mach 2
Just ordered a Spartus Apollo. Kind of wished I would've went with the GRUZN LAZR-16S now. Lol. Have you had a look at the USA made Thompson 515 Twill or Uni? That's something I'm very interested in seeing some performance stats on.
