I suppose you could call Garrett Works a hobby shop. I will tinker with just about anything ranging from building work benches to building/modifying race cars. Follow along to see what is probably the wrong way to do most things. We all have to learn some how.
Thanks! The fronts were upgraded a size when the Wilwood brakes were installed. The rears are still stock size. I believe that makes the fronts 1/2” and the rears 7/16”.
Rears are definitely stock length. I think the fronts are too. Still using an enclosed lug nut. My wheels were made to work with stock length studs and there are no spacers.
The following Hooker glasspack baffles are the ones I ordered. For me these were still a bit too loud and would hurt the ears under hard acceleration. I think the inside tube was about 2 1/2” diameter. The tuner had a set of hooker baffles that were just a bit more restrictive and the inside tube has a 2” diameter. Not sure which p/n they are but the sound level is better. I wish they would list these important measurements on the websites where they are sold. I have the box still and I can look to see if the P/n is on the box this weekend. No promises though. www.summitracing.com/parts/hok-21021hkr
Thank you! It is the water pump for any LS1 or LS6. They were the same. I think I commented in the video on where the corvette accessories belt runs on the water pump pulley compared to the F-body. I used F-body accessories. I modified the pump by moving the heater hose fittings because they would interfere with the upper control arm.
I’ve found your project. I’ve been following and as of now on part 12. Your ability and craftsmanship are outstanding. I’m really enjoying your series. I personally did a body off restoration on my 1971 big block t-top. As you know people say they restored their car, but most had other people or shops do the work. I restored mine by myself with a little help from friends. Of course that was 26 years ago. Now I’m 76 years old now only with the memories. I restored per NCRS, which states the way it left the factory. It took 2.5 years and scored a 96% score. Like I said be proud of your work, you deserve it. Thanks for sharing
I used all 4th gen F-Body accessories and brackets. Used a MRG-6368 thermostat. I think it tells you in the description of the water neck what thermostat you need.
Hello, I really enjoy watching your C3 Corvette build. Part 1 to part 14 has been very helpful. What Painless wiring harness did you use for your C3 project? Thank You
Thanks! I used the PRF-10413 harness. I bought it because of the amount of circuits available. I knew I needed to run the ECU as well as additional add ons like a charging port, electric fuel pump, differential cooling pump, dakota digital gauges, and the electric headlight conversion. www.summitracing.com/parts/prf-10413
😂 because it was a safe spin with no damage. Love that you are driving that classic out there! I actually think spins are fun to watch (when safe of course) and I post up the ones I witness and participate in as well. Keep safe out there!
Nice! I love seeing these C3's being driven. Get a cheap external microphone and use painter's tape to tape it to the decklid. Your sound will be much cleaner in future videos.
Thanks! I love them too! No spacers required when you have the correct backspacing. 3030 Autosport MOD3 series - M6GT wheels 3030autosport.com/product/mod3-series-m6gt/ Front: 10” wide 5” backspace 275/35R18 Rear: 10.5” wide 5.5 backspace 315/30R18 Falken Azenis RT615K+ tires.
Can you please let me know wheel size and offset/ backspace as well as tire size front and rear. I too am building a C3 pro-touring. Although Vansteel suspension, this will give me another frame of reference for my research.. Thanks
Missed your videos! Didn't know which way to go with mine! Car is awesome and I've gotten a lot of great ideas from watching your build. Thanks and hope to see more of the car in the future.
@@garrettworks346 nice, I've been trying to get started in the sport or at least get in some more trackday time. Lucky for me Summit Point West VA is close by to me but I am still deciding whether or not converting my CBR500R into a track bike or just get a used track bike. Watching videos like yours tho keeps me inspired to continue in my goals of getting into the sport.
@@MK384 having a dedicated track bike typically means the parts are easier to replace when you crash and the race body work is repairable. I think it’s worth it if you are going to keep doing it.
I think you need to create your own "Tank Sticker" just for the future restoration of this great build. Maybe a funny one of sort, just to surprise and delight the future bolt twisters.
I´m glad i found your channel!!looks like you`re really good guy for building a car! I bought 78 corvette from Usa to Finland and it took a few years to built it but now it is ready and i am happy with the end result!! Greets from Finland to another Corvette man!!
Nice work man. You ate me alive, only the many more cc's kept me in front. Great riding. Saturday was my first day back on the bike after crashing last September. New gearing, New brembo MC, etc. I was really slow on Saturday. Picked it up a bit Sunday afternoon and got back into the 206's.
He used a primer and modern adhesive. Makes for a stronger bond. He put some rubber blocks at the bottom of the window to keep it from sliding down. I don’t think there were any spacers for height. I think it’s actually a little high because the wiper hits the hood now.
@@garrettworks346 Thanks - Sorry to hear the wipers are rubbing. Seems weird that there would be so little tolerance. Do you still have the wiper door or a later hood? I’m looking at installing glass on my 71 in the next couple weeks, so I need all the advice I can get! Hope your’s is running well.
Garret- looking good! I picked up a Ninja 400, but I kept my R-3 and thinking about riding two classes with WERA in Atlanta this month. I just can't bring myself to sell that R-3...its a fun ride. I enjoyed your video!!
magnificent job! I have seen know one do such a thorough and well exacuted up date of a c3. I once had a red 76 the interior was all red with white seats and door panels. I sold it in the mid 80s. When I saw the condition of your floors I almost cried thinking that is what my 76 probably looks like. I wish I could have the opportunity to redo my 76 as well as you have done yours. I have watched your video's so many times that I can hear your background music in my sleep. please upload one showing the final finished product. thankyou for making them.
I was wondering where you got the dimensions from to build the dolly to put the body of the car on. I’ve found a plan on the internet, but the clarity of the dimensions are not legible. I need to take the body off of my 76 so I can do all the mechanical restomod changes similarly to your project. Thanks Steve
