No, the 70mm is HUGE if you're trying to get the great footage. The 24 is all you need if you're just exploring... in fact, it's even too narrow for that. I'm an fpv guy, and the 24 is very tight. I think that I'll try the 14mm conversion they have available for the air3 and see how that is flying it around with the goggles. cheers-

Thanks for making this comparison video. Great to hear the perspective of a mechanic on these and their competitors. Would you say the DR650 would be okay as a first bike for a total newbie with very little mechanical knowledge, or stick with the CRF300L? I love everything about the DR650 except the carb. Also I’m 5’10, 190lbs.

I think I would get the Mini 4 Pro with that controller also. Cheaper and I had a Mini 2 with the same type of controller. I like the display about the controller. Screen on the bottom with the high-end controller I don't know if I would actually like it that way.

Curious, at 16:55 you said it made to feel Weary. Was that just an error, or did you mean Wary, like tenuous or edgy? Or did you mean it as actually weary, like tired, as in riding the 300L was tiring?

@@wipperwil i meant weary and edgy. Weary where I was exhausted from high winds blowing me around and edgy because it was pretty unstable on the freeway. But I am a lightweight guy at 140 lbs. So it might feel different to a 180lb guy.

@@TheHighestGodisGood more than likely needs a flush but if I were you I would upgrade your lines to steel braided as well. Sometimes the old lines won't flush out the crap and you refill them just to find out there was a pinhole that was letting air in causing moisture build up. You and your life is worth replacing the lines. Bad brakes are the number 1 killer in bike accidents.

@@jamesgaszak3685 Another thing is I just installed new a handlebar and had to solder-extend the wiring and reroute the hydraulic cables, as they are at their length limit with a 14" bar. They do allow the bars to go fully turn though. Could a any of that or a potential miswire cause the front brakes to auto clamp out of the blue? And, could the ABS be doing the auto front braking even though it doesn't pulsate and the ABS light doesnt come, when I know it can light up? A dealer has the bike now, but I wanted to steer them as best as possible and you know your stuff.

@@TheHighestGodisGood a dealer should figure it out quick. If you routed the cables good and it isn't pinching then you should be good but since I can't physically see the bike I can't know for sure. If the brakes were working fine before the bar install that might be an indication that something is not hooked up properly though. As for the abs there could be a number of problems which again I couldn't know for sure unless I was there to inspect it.

Carburated motorcycles aren’t too bad. Not as reliable as efi but you can theoretically fix a fueling problem on the side of the road. Efi failure is rare in the Japanese big 4. Definitely keep an eye of the condition of the float needle. That’s probably the most common point of failure for wear and tear

@@davebewshey1549 they actually have a lot in common especially because I was going to purchase the crf300l and ended up getting the dr650. Mainly because they both have a huge following and both brands especially model specific Crf vs Dr have top reliability. Plus both have similar price range, similar ride height, similar ergonomics, similar after market parts, from the bars to the suspension, wheels. The weight is less than a 60lbs difference. When you add all these factors the bikes are more similar than they are different.

It turns out that yes, it's still relevant. In 2024, I see people using RF/EF adapters and using this lens all over the place... Even the non-IS version. I've seen EF Lenses that originated in the 1990s.... they have improved them and are still making them.... on Sony bodies. Great lens. Wish I had one.

Yeah it's best to create your own and rig it together. I had to rip the entire electrical fuse system out because those old bus fuses kept popping.

I can’t laugh because that actually happened to me. On a ride home I felt my bike start to drag and pulled over. I discovered the brakes had locked. I couldn’t budge the bike an inch. While trying to figure out what to do I got something to drink from a nearby store. It was hot out. After my soft drink I checked the bike. I could now roll it. The brakes cooled enough??? Once I got it home I had the rear brakes bled and I heard a puff of air come out of the line. That’s why I searched these vids to find out who else had a similar experience.

Anything F1.4. F1.8 is ok. F2.8 is not very good. Don't even try F4 unless you enjoy being disappointed. My favorite low light lens is the EF 35mm F1.4 mark 1. That lens is magic. For portraits I would do the EF 85mm 1.4 image stabilized lens. Not sure what you are filming or shooting?

The dji is for vlogging only, and not an action cam. I really don‘t understand this comparsion. 🤷🏻‍♂️ 10 bit vs 8 bit should be not make a big different with this smal lenses and in this price range. Both are cheap cameras far away from professional.

SO, my SCREW that holds the brake handle to the master cylinder. I had it way too TIGHT, SCREW DOESN'T NEED TO BE TIGHT, just a little loose. Another good find.

I want more videos on this topic. I'm stuck between getting these two bikes. Sometimes it's scrambler 400x vs drz400sm but I think DR650 vs scram 400x is better for me.

The drz400 is a tall bike. Like 37 inch seat height. If you are over 6 foot then this bike might work. The scrambler 400 seems like a good bike. The ground clearance isn't as good as the dr650 and I'm guessing the 650 will have more freeway power. If you plan to do a lot of off roading the Dr also will be a better choice. The triumph parts if something breaks down will be much more expensive.

Yeah it's that or aftermarket levers sometimes aren't machined right and also won't let the master cylinder air to retract.

Thanks. The heat bar comes up but no overheating. Keep the screen flipped out cause that helps with heat dissipation.

maybe a dumb question.. if the motorcycle brakes lock up and you release the lever or foot pedal, will the brakes unlock ?

Not if pressure is built up in the lines from heat, moisture being in the brake fluid or your master cylinder release valve is clogged. You need to open the bleeder valve or untighten the banjo bolt to release pressure so you can move your bike cause the tires will be locked up.

The CT90/110 rambunctious younger brothers are equally reliable, and especially capable with the high/low transmission. It might actually be at the top of my apocalypse motorcycle, with the TW200 my second place choice.

@@jamesgaszak3685 given that its civilized older brother the Honda Cub has sold over a hundred million units and that they share similar DNA the CT90/110 more rambunctious younger brothers may very well be at the top of my apocalypse bike list the newer CT 125 should be included but it does not have the Hi/Lo transmission which will carry or drag a deer or a quartered elk out of the brush. The TW200 that I have would be my second choice, although I'm determined to turn it into a TW 225 with the engine and 6-spd transmission from the XT225.

@@jamesgaszak3685 Not only did the newer XT 250 go to fuel injection which is not ideal in an apocalypse scenario but they went to a five-speed transmission and essentially ruined it. The XT 225 had an extra low first gear and an extra tall 6th gear making it what they call a wide-range transmission and absolutely the better way to go.

Big fan of the DR650. But I'm a shorty and my first one was a '95 which couldn't be lowered. I currently have a DR350 project bike which I have high hopes for because it can be lowered and has a wide range 6 spd transmission and can reach 80 mph speeds. I do plan to get a '96 or newer DR650 which can be lowered. I owned the KLR650, DR650, and F650GS DAKAR at the same time. They each had their strengths, but when I factor in everything: cost, simplicity, reliability, comfort (Seat Concepts), performance, the DR650 is a Goldilocks bike, and it is King.

Rear brake locked up from front (RES) too full because Honda ST1300 have linked brakes, Front handle controls some rear braking.

OK, too full(RES) for summer riding, Fluid heated up and I took pff the Aftermarket shorty Lever. Thank you.

Yup those after market levers are not machined properly and can cause build up of pressure in the Master cylinder. Switch out the shorty to an OEM lever and you should be back in business.

first ride home, front brake locked up, I bet it was the old fluid. Totally cleaned all brake system and. Rode 1000 miles and rear brake locked up. I have a cheap Ebay brake lever. Maybe that. Because I tore rear brake apart, everything looks great. My other bike, I have ridden 5000 with cheap Ebay Levers. So that's fine.,My problem might be I filled the resievors too much. Has air space. I also cleaned the vent lines in the metal cap. Good video, I can fix it all myself.

I would say it's the eBay lever that's the problem. If the lever isn't machined right it won't release the air valve in the master cylinder properly and it will cause a build up of air pressure and lock your brakes up.
