I’ve heard it’s good to use your hand to remove candles, and best to do it in the spring. I’m so tempted to do it right now in late July but I’m going to wait cause my roommate will kill me if I prune one more thing. 😂
There's a illegal species of this spruce named the blood spruce because its obviously red but the reason Its illegal is because its a parasitic plant witch it takes host in any fleshy object and slowly but surely kills its host
3:00 Thank you! My trees were doing exactly that and I thought they were dying or needed LOTS of water. I removed the dead growth and deep watered. Should I be watering still through the fall and into the winter? I planted around March and did very well when planted until just about a month ago and it is now Nov. and they are about seven foot now. THANK YOU!
Hi, we planted 15 large green giants in July. They were doing great. We were watering daily 1 hour per our landscapers recommendation through the hot summer (we were in a drought in CT), then went to 40 mins/day through September. Then we had a ton of rain over 3-4 days after the drought, so shut off the irrigation. All of a sudden this past week (late September, first week October) they suddenly have tons of yellowing in the interior, mostly toward the lower half of the tree. Would you guess they will survive? We cut the water way back in case it’s an overwatering issue. Is there anything we should do to help the trees? Freaking out. Thank you!
It's 9 months later. They'll survive. I have two established 20' arborvitae and they brown up 1/3 in winter. I water 5 minutes 1 time each winter month to keep them alive. It snows a few times during the winter and that is also considered watering.
This video was made 9 years ago. Do not buy these trees anymore, they will die from a fungus that kills them, or you can treat it every year for the rest of your life to keep it alive. It’s unfortunate, but it’s the truth.
I planted 40 8 foot arborvitae which were super looking when I planted them. After a couple of weeks they started turning brown in certain areas. Naturally, I started stressing as to the reason. Too much water, too little, etc. I started researching and came across Bill at Highland Farms on RU-vid who invited people with any questions on their arborvitae to call. The next day I did and was very impressed with his and his son's knowledge and above all with their earnest willingness to help. Nice to know that good people are still around. Kudos to them both! Expensive to say the least I feed deer in my area I wish there was an oral solution to getting rid of ticks like putting something in with the apples to entice the deer to eat and destroy ticks
Way too much gun for deer. Even the lesser 30-06 is to much for deer. How about 257 Roberts , 7mm-08, 6.5 Creedmore for deer out to 300 yards easy. 338 is great for elk, moose , and bear. The dang 338 is a kicker that is too much for a fun gun.

I have kill many deer with 223/270/3030/300wby mag 30-06 . Just about everyone of them shot has dropped like a wet rag. Also shot a doe with my 82A1 601 grain hollow point at 1120 yards . Hit the doe in the chest cavity it ripped the doe completely in half won't be doing that again.
