As a side note for Sombra as I play that hero. A lot of it has to do with distraction and picking off squishies to create opportunities for my team. Taking out the healers or distracting/taking out Widowmaker/Hanzo/Ash etc... to lower pressure on the team. She is a great counter to Bob so the Ash has to be more "interactive" to use Blizzard's term with the enemy team or it will get quickly shut down. There are other heroes that can shut down ultimates, that Bob Buff is non-sensensical. Sombra punishes bad positioning and campers. Most if not all flankers have at least 2 mobility skills. Sombra's 1 mobility skill, translocator, is tied to her stealth cooldown, so it's like using 2 cooldowns at once. To top it off, the translocator animation tells you where she teleports to. Getting hit out of stealth for 1 sec is a loss since most single shot heroes can wreck her and the rest can just hit her repeatedly to keep her out of stealth. As far as flankers, Reaper has a teleport and fade, Tracer has blinks and a heal/fade, Genji has wall climbing, deflect, and a long dash that resets cooldown on downing opponent, Venture has a Dig and a dash/push. So, if Sombra should be a flanker she should at least have Stealth be a separate cooldown to translocator so there is a way to get in and then out if necessary, like ALL other flankers can. So no, she is not a flanker, she screams "Bonsai!" when running in and hopes nobody turns around. She is not scary anymore, for good or bad, the boogieman is dead. Edit: Blizzard, can you reduce the fatigue I feel when on Soldier and Widowmaker too? My wrists hurt sooo bad...
I uninstalled yesterday. Did the halloween stuff, did not like the RNG stuff too much. Didn't see anything cool with the laboratory story mode which I was hoping they would make more stuff on. They reworked or nerfed the heroes I played, Juno is ok, but Sombra is just a different character now and Ramattra feels different as well. I don't care for rank, I just play unranked open role. It just doesn't feel the same as last season. I will probably play again in a few seasons or not. Marvel Heroes is around the corner, so I may just stick with that if it's good.
A lot of these changes are to buff widow indirectly. They do this most seasons, whichever hero gets mythic they will buff them somehow either directly or indirectly. So in Widow's case, Sombra nerf. Rein shield nerf. Ram no longer punch through shield but breaks shield faster (breaks shields faster so widow can get more impact). The buffs to the other dps don't really impact widow too much. Except perhaps sojourn. The hero is maybe being set up to contest widow, for players who don't want to play widow. And to play alongside Widow. So meta may likely be widow + sojourn poke/snipe comp. Or Widow + Hanzo now with the Hanzo buff. Baptiste buff for low/midrank players. Further the poke meta. Immort will come in handy to stave off the one shots, which will stop or curb players from rage quitting for the season for endless widows. They are trying to force poke/snipe meta to boost widow pickrate. Aka boost battlepass sales. They will likely pull back on some of these changes once the season ends, or in the middle of the season when they bring out the midseason content. I personally don't think any balancing decisions the devs make is thoughtless. It's just, their goals aren't always apparent. Until you see the patterns. I could be wrong about their intent. It's possible these balance changes are to make widow meta less annoying, whilst still trying to get widow more playtime. Like the Bap buff, and the buffs to Hanzo and Soj, alloying them to better compete with Widow. But it's still based around Widow having the mythic.
6 on 6 will always be better because matchmaking in qp is a dog shit, in most cases it all comes down to dps, whoever has more damage to kill the tank wins. DPS players themselves ruin the game when they take the widow, Hanzo, and when the tank asks for a bastion they don’t change.
The worst part of all of this is that overwatch can still be easily saved. On top of that, people act like games like marvel rivals and deadlock will kill overwatch, but for someone like me who hates 3rd person shooters, there is STILL no replacement for it.
I want the game to be saved, but I've lost hope like so many others. Those games you mentioned as a collective will cause a huge drop in player base upon their releases. OW death will be a slow one as time goes on from games releasing and players migrating elsewhere. It's inevitable in the f2p space unless you continue to improve and add value to your game. (Blizzard doesn't do that anymore)
The main reason this game is not the same anymore and its not fun and most of the time its frustrating is this shitty 5 vs 5 format, i just want 6 vs 6 back, 5 vs 5 sucks hard, having 2 tanks in the team was so fun, i miss to wombo combo with the other tank and the dps, we could make more plays with 6 vs 6 format. 5 vs 5 solo tank role feels awful the experience is horrible its not fun to play with just one tank!, its dog shit who the fuck thought that this 5 vs 5 format is fun? its pure garbage.
this doesnt feel worth it. its like they dont want people to want to play this game. i dont think much will save this game at all, i dont think much besides meaningful change will change this game.
I don’t play for the rewards, I just enjoy the gameplay. If there are rewards like these drives, I’ll play as much as I can but I’m not torn up about not getting everything; it’s the gameplay that’s prime for me.
Strictly speaking its nearly impossible for the community (at least the NA community) to hold blizzard accountable because the playerbase overseas is so used to this kind of bad business practice that they see nothing wrong with it. Even if all of NA decided to stop playing they could realistically take the hit, even moreso because theyve resigned themselves to only working on comp and nothing else, no pve and nothing of real substance. I don't enjoy doomer takes for most games cause usually its hyperbolic but overwatch is one of the very few where its legitimately never going to return to what it was, and instead just going to stagnate back into obscurity.
@@shadezOW Nah im saying that for most games where doomer esque "it'll never get better" takes are made, theyre usually wrong. But in overwatches case its almost undoubtedly never going to truly get better
I think they're using drives to get data about rewards with comp and queue times. I got enough for another golden gun but it says I dont have enough lol also my signature doesnt appear in game :(
the same reason why they don't let you earn legacy competitive currency and came up with that low effort green gun -to keep people playing every season. Bascially they are disguising fomo as a "reward" but I really don't think you can call something a reward if it's taken away from you soon after you get it.
You are 100% right. And the players cards were far better than those f**** stats. I swear lot of players became litterally dumb, and analyse all the game from those 2 stats which appears. At least the repartition of damage deal to specific heroes should be vewable. I prefer 10 time a 5000 damage mate with 10 death that actually pushed and wreck the backline, than a 12k one who stay 50 meter behind farming stats on the ennemy tank 🙄 That cause so much pb I can't list all here, and I think anybodie understand what I mean ;).
For the prices : they aren't justified if ypu buy the raw skin. The battle pass is woth tho. 10 dolllars for 5/6/7/8 skins is really really cheap 😆. Free to play without overpriced cosmetics.... it just.... doesn't exist I think 😉. Personnally, I'm ol with that if their is anyway to earn skin by playing (hextech craft in League for exemple).
2 thing : 6 v 6 ; or 5 v 5 with 2 tank and 1 supp. Honestly, a game about pushing an objevtiv, with a comp 1 frontliner/4 backliner is dumb as f*** . It is really the shitest thing possible. Cause : The only frontline is not there = you do nothing till he come back.. And If you are the frontline and the backline let you push alone at anytime and provide 0 utility.... it will make the game almost impossible. But you have to understand that soldier playing behind all game focusing the tank... he wants his 12k damage and 3 death max at the end 😂😂🤢🤮. And he will beleive he pmayed great, while he was perfectly useless It makes it unplayable or frustrating. It could be ok if the community know perfectly how to play, when they should push/commit with squeechies, even if it means die for win the fight. The 6v6 contain this problem too, but it mitigate it a looot. Or have a 2nd tank instead of a 2nd support could mitigate it too. Ofc doing so, maybe rebalance a little tank to make them have less hp
Blizzard surround themselves with yes-men, and that's exactly the reason why they've chosen Custa. He'll never say anything against daddy Blizzard. It's sickening.
The biggest problem, they built and amazing game, lore and characters. Then they treid to force it to become an esport. Every change was aimed at esports effectiveness, ease to watch. But that made the game less fun, changed heroes fundamentally. Now anything of value is behind a paywall, and is usually 20 bucks a pop. Free to play has hurt more than it has helped.
I play ow long time now, what I miss is what it was in the begining which is super fun game, all characters and all stories behind them , now is all about THE BALANCE, casual players dont care about stats dmg hp speed etc, give me back old overwatch
Hot take: they should cool it with new characters and just focus on maps for a while. The constant switch of the meta gets tiring, but new maps are always fun to explore

The Post Match Daily/Weekly Progression Screen is still fucked, Jade Weapons don't get displayed there also and still No Portrait Borders.. if they would fire all the Yes-men off the Dev Team I guess the Blizzard Campus be set ablaze.
Here me out. No role que 6v6. In the marvel rivals beta I played with what felt like mostly overwatch vets. The tended to lock 2 2 2 anyway. Also going back to 6v6 no role lock and nerfing lamp and suzu is the move. That along with nerfing tank health would free up the game and allow for innovation and new comps with all the characters. Plus magua wouldn't feel trash to play against as an off tank.
@@shadezOW Moira can take advantage of the insane AD strafing and crouch spam in overwatch without suffering a real dps penalty. Every other character is going to have a harder time aiming while they are strafing. Removing the lockon dmg and orb would fix her.
@@noname-vw5qw Her attack needs to simply be a spray, same as her heal. In Rivals, Wanda has her attack type and she's a dps and it works perfectly that way.
