i absolutely regret buying this kit..... havent build it yet, but after reading and seeing your video and another video with problem in the diffs i absolutely regret buying it. i had the sct 410.3 which was an absolute beast. but i guess thats the recipe for companies now.... build 3 4 kits that stand out, than drop the ball and go the route every other company does.... the 410.3 had most parts cnc in the diffs and so on... this one full of plastic..... spent 555 pounds for the kid plus a b c d aluminium braces plus another 130 pounds for cnc ring gear and pinion..... tekno no more, and if anybody reads this thinking they will buy the kit for bashing because tekno tough, no, dont do it! buy traxxas and part support will be better and you will be screwed the same way..... dont watch youtubers saying ~8th scale tough~ its 10th scale end of story. 410.3 was 8th scale tough. plastic in the diffs, i mean come on. thank you for the video, few people have the courage to say it how it is.
I honestly agree with you knowing how much money I spent on the project. All the Option Parts I had to buy to get it to the level that it is now. I won’t knock my kit though. I love it! Once I sorted out the little things, it because #1 on my list. If I could go back in time and change anything about this video, I’d tell you that this is NOT a Basher period. It’s for racing and big scale tracks, but nobody should bash this thing. Unless that person just has money to burn. I wish you the best and thanks for watching the video. I should probably make a follow-up video. I’ll do that after living with the rig for at least 6 months.
Feels like I haven't seen you in a while on Frank's live. How much is that going to cost? And is any of them coming to the United States? It's too bad. There's only a 100 being made.?
Yes you can buy it. For Japanese market sales by G-Force and overseas market by Masaaki Hirosaka. Contact address is please check REDRC that you can see information soon.
I guess we are experiencing a Yokomo vintage revival: first the 870c, then Trickbits, and now this very special creation! 👍Approx. USD 1,5k I read somewhere.
What size bearings are you using for the front and rear sway bar collars? In the manual, the bushings don't show a size. As a matter of fact, the part numbers are for the front/rear gearboxes, which include the bushings.
Thanks for a great video as well as a look at all the optional parts. We all know this is a quality kit right out of the box but it's great to see those high dollar bling parts as well. To each their own. You're a very patient guy when addressing some of the "knowitall" comments. Enjoy and have lots of fun with this rig!
Thanks for the comment. I don’t run a monetized channel so I’m pretty much free to agree with people who may have issues with any rig I talk about. Would you believe that I’m STILL working on it? Haha. It should be ready for its maiden “shakedown” next month. I’m currently switching radios. I’m seriously considering sharing my thoughts about why I switched brands. A little worried I might ruffle a few feathers.
@spinrushrc sometimes our projects take longer than we plan. I'd love to see your shakedown runs and any tuning you end up doing. As for ruffling feathers, if they can't handle your opinion and experiences, that's on them. Take joy in deleting those comments:-)
The stock diffs ( Front, Center, and Rear ) come with a plastic cross T for the planetary gears to rotate on. It works that way stock, but the reality is that’s not going to cut it for the amount of power most people are going to run through the system. When I saw the Instruction Manual and the bags, my first reaction was “I don’t get it” just like you. Why would you build such a heavy duty SCT kit and then toss in a bunch of plastic parts? It’s not about the design. It’s about money! Intentional fail points. Now, we can never expect TEKNO to fess up to such speculation. Intentional fail points? However, we know. So buy the right parts now or deal with the issues later.
@@spinrushrc I'm running the plastic crosses since months now in my MT 2.0 and I run it on 4S (2400KV Max10G2) No Problems so far... with Proline Hyrax 2.8
⚡️⚡️GREAT STUFF⚡️⚡️I’m glad I found your channel I look forward to seeing more of your videos📺 I do mostly TRANSFORMER Stop Motion 🎬📸🎞️ I hope you enjoy my animation‼️ 12:15
Dude, if you have to add all those extra parts to make this kit a winner , it's a piece of crap... What a joke.. May as well buy a traxas ...you're gonna be seeing the rear end of one.
You are absolutely right. There’s a lot I can’t get into a video. Point #1 I don’t care about getting on the podium. Truth told. What is important to me is rolling with my guys. Point 2: This whole build is a learning experience. I’ve learned that TEKNO will nickel and dime you for every tunable option part. I have the receipts. Will I do this type of build again? Probably not. Last thing! I’m addicted to titanium and bling. NGL, I love the shiny stuff. So, I’m just enjoying the build. Associated absolutely would have been a cheaper kit to build, but I am having fun.
Yes sir! I have the 4300kv motor and it’s looking like I’ll be going with the XR8 SCT ESC. I’m cautious. I keep waiting to hear something bad about something, but so far what I’ve heard has all been positive.
You can't race badlands, they are bashing tires. Most tracks will make you change your tires to something more suitable. You spend all that money or Gucci parts then drag out that Walmart motor? Get a Castle or Tekin.
I’m not going to start out racing. Badlands are for bashing. You are right about that. Proline Carpet Prisms are coming later next month. As far as the motor goes, it was highly recommended in the TEKNO SCT 2.0 community on FB. I know about the TEKIN as well. I’ve also read all their woes. Castle is a solid pick though. FWIW, this is just the initial build. Thanks for you feedback.
What an awesome random adventure. I really enjoy those days, when you set out for one adventure and end up having an entirely different one. Japan is a very cool place, I would love to go back some day.
