As a young musician, Gary Numan changed my life forever, and I will be eternally grateful to him. His songs are aging alongside us in an extraordinary way. This performance shows that.
My dad died last year and our relationship sucked. What he did do for me though was introduce me to Numan. We always connected over this song. And for some reason, the Telekon album. Thanks for the modern performance.
Crazy that Tubeway army's version was amazing at the time, Gary's 80's and 90's versions were awesome and now a new version and still amazing for different reasons.
I’m happy to read all the positive things about Gary here in the comments. There’s only one thing I worry about and that is that he is getting older and I never want him to resign.
I was there and it sounded a lot better than this over produced recording . The guitars were much more in the mix and gave this classic a much tougher more aggressive sound than what you here on this recording plus the crowd was from where l was standing pretty racous and could be plainly heard during the spoken parts of the song
WOW WOW WOW!!! I've loved this song for yeeeaaarrrs. When this popped up I thought, "what the heck" and clicked 'Play'. Holy crap whatta performance!!! Gary is still such a brilliant performer, I was properly blown away watching this with my jaw dropped for the whole song. I wanna go home where they KNOW how to put on a show. Thank you for putting this on YT where all people stuck in the %$#@ing US can still get a dose of proper music culture.
