With the right setup, yes. Stacking mana scales both your damage and defenses to the moon. A Hardcore version would look a bit different though, this early mapping setup is vulnerable to physical damage and damage over time. I'm working on gearing this build for T17s and Ubers. I'll let you know how it goes when I finish!
@@InsPoE Thnx for your reply. Just wanting to check one thing. It doesn’t matter for this strategy if you go white or red maps? I always thought you had to do T14+ maps to get the T3 corruption chamber.
@@Soei23 The tier of the map doesn't matter for this strategy. I did white T3 Strands in this video, and you can do any map your build can handle that's safe and fast :)
I really have to say as someone who has 10k hrs on the clock and twice the amount in watching youtube poe content videos, your approach is to notch. crystal clear, not too long, not too short and the best part, no bait. The problem with most creators today is, that the pressure to produce leads to unhealthy amounts of bait videos. keep it up! EDIT: btw. pob? looks fun:)
Really appreciate the praise! I played two characters in the video, one was a Winter Orb Inquisitor that's been dissected so I can't share that. The other is a Profane Bloom Death's Oath Occultist. It's a work in progress but it uses proliferation tech (hexbloom, contagion, southbound) to create a chain reaction of explosions that can clear a screen. pobb.in/KynjsnXQuXPP
@@InsPoE ah yes, I was actually looking for the winter orb one. Never played WO when it had it great days, so still looking for someone reviving it. thanks!
@@wodzefag8062 I managed to move some gear around and snapshot what's left of the PoB. It was a really fun build to play and the clear felt good for T16/T17 but the single-target was lacking without further investment. Maybe I'll revisit it before the league ends! pobb.in/RgYQrQ2eOuIB
So by my math you need 4 maps to make a temple (without scarab). If on average you're able to sell a temple for 1.5 divs (which is very generous) that's an average of 0.375 div/map. In other words you need to do 26.67 maps/h to get to 10 div/h without scarabs. At that point it'd be a really mediocre farming strat for a mid league farm, but quite ok for needing no scarabs. But the question is, can you run 26.67 maps/h where you need to clear 3 incursions in that time too? It's not completely impossible but I suspect most people will do closer to 20 maps/h. tl,dr - I think the scarab is basically mandatory for this to be even remotely worth it as a mid league farm. Just do essences and extract 1 div/map in the same 3 minutes, instead of 0.375. That said if the prices ever go up it's quite good.
We take Artefacts of the Vaal on our Atlas Passive Tree which makes each map contain 4 incursions. Since we only need 12 to finish a temple, you can build 1 temple for every 3 maps even without using the scarab. Using the scarab is a generous multiplier on the number of temples you can build an hour. It's a nice strategy to get the ball rolling, but as you said it pales in comparison to some other methods like Betrayal and Essences.
@@InsPoE Ah damn I missed the node. This should make running these a bit faster and changes the math a bit on div/map. But ultimately not by that much since you still need to go into the incursion which is what takes time. What I'd love to see to push this a bit further closer to other strats would be to have a keystone that would grant you an extra button, to "close" the temple at your will. Maybe this had the risk of reducing total incursions available by 2 or something, idk. But it sucks to have to keep running incursions once you already have your lvl 3 chamber.
Awesome, i always love doing incursion, be good to get 5 or so of your mates doing at the same time and go on a double vorrupt spree targeting meta uniques haha
It should also be noted…if you get one of the rooms you are trying to upgrade (corruption/gemcutter) but didn’t get it up to tier 3, once you leave the incursion, DO NOT do any more of the incursions in the map and do not talk to Alva. When you enter a map, the rooms that are going to be offered is predetermined. So if you get lucky and the first incursion is the corruption chamber but you couldn’t get it to T3, that room will not be offered again during the remainder of the map. So you should leave the map and open a new one and start a fresh “instance.” Also, if you talk to Alva at another location before leaving and she reveals the next room she wants you to enter, that room will now be hard coded across all maps until you complete it so don’t talk to Alva and just leave and start fresh. You do this to maximize the chances of you getting the rooms you need more than once. A pretty common example of when this would be needed is when you enter a a non-tiered room (max tier either room will be upgraded to is 1) or it’s a T1 but you are changing the room so the max it will be is T2. You HAVE to get the room again to be able to upgrade it. So if you get this example on the first out of the 4 incursions, you would be wasting the 3 remaining incursions on the map once you complete it. Hopefully that makes sense
Your video instructions is clear asf. I immediately start playing this mechanic according to ur vid and already made a couple of divs in the past hr. Love you man <3
Kind of depressing how the value in this entrie machnic lies in enabling extremely rich people to gamble away their investment, mostly because any other nodes have almost 0 value to them, not even currency chambers ...
I agree, I've always had a soft spot for Incursion and I would love to see an overhaul that makes the other rooms more rewarding. Betrayal could also use a new coat of paint, GGG dumbed it down to a Veiled Orb slot machine :(
@@InsPoE Well you can say that for any kind of content that drops a unique kind of material. "Influenced Maps are just a Warlord's Orb slot machine." rings the same. The issue is that floor loot has lost all its meaning. Rather than offering more and more ways to customize stuff, they should probably just make it so higher level items have a lesser and lesser chance to roll bad stats so that doing certain content a certain way has a chance to actually drop loot that you care to check out. Imagine that all the modifiers inside a Temple would increase the average item level of gear so you can target Level 86 - 90 stuff by increasing the difficulty more and mode. By Ilevel 90 you would have a significant chance that all affixes on an item roll between T3 and T1. Suddenly a lot of different content gets a lot more meaning.
You can also self farm them and mass corrupt gems and other mid level uniques to feed that same player base. It's probably a bit late to do it without some high value or very high rolled uniques. Stuff like ephemeral edge with perfect roll would still be good
I’ve been trying to understand this mechanic and your summary helped a ton! Slowly figuring out what mechanics I enjoy. Had no idea what to do with Alva so thank you for sharing this. Will try it out. Really insightful and zero filler
Glad I could help! This one focused more on how to make money with Incursion. If you want a more comprehensive explanation of mechanics, then I'd suggest checking out my Mechanics in Minutes series. My goal is to cover every mechanic in PoE before PoE2 goes into Early Access later this year 🙂
This is my first league and I am absolutely in love with Poe so far. I decided to try this build for my 4th character and this guide is hands down the best build guide I’ve ever used. S tier production for the video mate, liked and a new sub!
Welcome to PoE, and thank you for the kind words! These guides take a while to test and put out so comments like yours really help me stay motivated while I work on the next project. I'm glad you found it helpful and I hope that you're enjoying your first league 🙂
Man i didnt even started with your tactic so i just implemented it in my build and the results are shockingly good, just got piety in like 3 sec. Thanks for the video
Glad to hear it! Have a peep at the pinned comment if your damage falls off in the later Acts, it helped me a lot when I tried the strategy on a different character 😄
No problem! Just a heads up that the footage is from Patch 3.24, and that there's been some major changes to melee builds in the current version of the game. There's still a lot of relevant tips and tricks in the series, but I'd suggest having a look at this cheat sheet I made for Patch 3.25. Cheers :) www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/1ecg30q/boneshatter_juggernaut_cheat_sheet/
Whelp. Enjoy it while it lasts. GGG will nerf it so the campaign can be as miserable and slow as possible lol. Poet's pen was nerfed specifically because of how useful it was for leveling alts.
At 53 you could use Arakaalis fang and use the usual combo to summon spiders on demand. With Envy in off hand they should gobble up the entire campaign
That sounds like something I'm going to have to try the next time I make an alt! I've never used Fang but I know it's a staple for endgame minion poison builds.
Great video! Really enjoyed the recap of variants at the end as I am new and don’t know much about the different ways to tailor passives to gear/playstyles. I am trying the Ziz/Raxx/Goratha build right now and so far it’s been a fun journey. Just swapping to Ice Nova from Firestorm w/ all evasion /ES gear + suppression nodes. I may swap out to another defense style once I put on Kitavas. Still trying to figure out comfortable times to switch passives without sacrificing defenses. If you were interested I would love to see a video on how you like to ramp up various defense post campaign / early maps! Looking forward to more of your content regardless, thanks!
Thank you! When and what to swap is definitely something I also struggle with. It's one of those things that is intuitively learned by A LOT of trial and error. I'll try and sit down after the Gauntlet and see if I can convey how I do it for my characters in a way that's helpful to new players. Thanks again, for the kind words and the suggestion. Hope you have fun with the Ice Nova build, it's a good one 🙂
Hey, there might be some reasons this could be happening. You could have a Life Mastery that makes skills cost 15% life instead of mana. You could be using the Blood Magic Keystone or the Petrified Blood skill gem. Another reason is the Lifetap support gem, which makes your skills use life instead of mana. Check to see if you have any of the above active on your character, hopefully that fixes the problem!
Thanks for the kind words! Don't feel pressured to watch the whole thing in one sitting. I tried to compartmentalize it with timestamps so you can jump around to what you need to know as you're playing the build 🙂
@@hynubb3r I tried LS early into the league. It scales into an endgame beast but the campaign and early mapping felt a bit rough. Maybe I'll revisit it before league's end, but no promises 😅
@@InsPoE Ahh. As of now I'm following Pohx RF bible to learn the game, just want to branch out when I'm a bit richer. But anything you do I'd still support, no worries!
This build has been around since the major changes to Archmage in 3.24. The lucky block interaction with Svalinn might be temporary, but everything else should survive!
Thanks! Rolling Magma with Combustion and Ele Prolif is an amazing way to level. I wanted to suggest an alternative since new players often struggle with the deadzones between bounces.
Very good info, I've been following zizaran's build, came to realize for endgame I need to min/max a lot of equipment and for that need a lot of currency, still fun to use and can do t16, I even tried a t17 but couldn't beat the boss. Right now trying to change into Svalinn as that version is cheaper than Zizaran's, I learned some stuff from your video thanks a lot
Glad to hear it! I've heard some really good things about the Svalinn variant of this build. Drop by later and let me know how that feels when you make the swap :)
@@InsPoE Oh, Svallin is good to transition into juiced t16 -t17 but when U start making good money U want to switch back to suppresion - has higher ceiling
@@michalzamojski6837 That makes sense, late game suppression gear seems especially crazy with recombinators this league. I'll have to farm some currency and give it a try!
Hey there, I'm happy to hear it! Some of my favorite videos to have playing in the background while I play PoE is walkthroughs by other content creators. I'm glad to be able to provide that experience for someone else 🙂
Hey there, I used the Ranger in this video. You can try out this leveling strategy with any of the seven classes since it relies on gear more than class-specific passives 🙂
@@InsPoE thanks awesome video by the way out of curiosity do you know if there is a build guide past the lvl'ing strat? I like what ive done so far and want to go further but cant find anything
@@jedichef170 What class, ascendency, and archetype are you hoping to play? The leveling strat is fantastic to get you through the campaign, but it falls off very quickly in the endgame. If you enjoy the minion playstyle then there might be a few builds that come to mind. But to answer your question blind, I can vouch for Lightning Strike Slayer, Ice Nova of Frostbolts Hierophant, Hexblast Mines Trickster, Righteous Fire Chieftain, and SRS Necromancer being fantastic builds to try out this league.
@@jedichef170 Ah okay, I haven't tried it this league but I would suggest the Corrupting Fever archetype. It uses wands and Kinetic Blast/Bolt to apply debuffs onto enemies to kill them. Maxroll has a few guides on Corrupting Fever, and I believe you can find some great guides by TripolarBear on RU-vid. If you're looking for something to grind out and really sink your teeth into, then I'd suggest looking into Kinetic Bolt INT Stacking. This is NOT beginner friendly and VERY expensive, but a very strong build if you can get it setup!
You might have to upgrade your runesmithing table a few times. I tried checking the wiki but couldn't find what level table is required for the crafts. But I do know you get it quite early!
Hey there, if you're struggling with some of the bosses that don't summon many adds then I'd recommend the Writhing Jar unique flask or The Hateful Accuser unique ring. These items will allow you to spawn your own enemies into those fights, which you can kill to summon your wolves. This was a tip given to me by other players who were also feeling the fall off near the end.
Give the wolves and zombies a try. I'm working on a Necromancer myself with zombies and raging spirits, and I must say I miss having the wolves around!
