The White Sands Missile Range Museum is an official US Department of the Army museum. Located at White Sands Missile Range, NM, the WSMR Museum's mission is to to collect, preserve, and interpret the history of the greater White Sands area - its peoples, lands, and technological contributions in support of the United States Armed Forces - from the prehistoric era to the present.
Everybody's focused on the blast component of the test, but if you want to read about something really scary, read up on the Thermal Radiation Simulators, which are responsible for the plumes of white smoke and piercing bright light source (hot!) that happen just before the detonation. They burn huge amounts per second of aluminum dust in liquid oxygen. It's a bit like a rocket engine, capable of simulating the heat pulse from a nuclear detonation at scale. Think about that. It's hard to find papers on how the TRS is actually built, except in general. They are also used on devices such as the Large Blast & Thermal Simulator.

Unless they directly cloned the engine and avionics software from the DC-X, wouldn't SpaceX's technology still be original to them, even if it was inspired by the example of the DC-X and performed the same function? Why do we assume that SpaceX's team did not/were not capable of solving the problem independently?
As a 21G20 in the 3/9 FA at Ft. Sill I was one of the Pershing 1-A people in the first group of 29 Pershing 1-A people of which volunteered and was selected to go "TDY" down to Orlando, Florida to help develop and field test the new Pershing II missile system. We spent six months down there doing so. After that six months, part of our crew went to White Sands for further testing. I was not selected to go with them. Instead, I was one of the other members of that 29 member team group of which was selected to go to Germany as an instructor for when the new Pershing II was to be deployed to Europe. I personally was sent to the 3/84 in Heilbronn as an instructor.

In retrospect the Politicians and heads of the military didn’t care if the Pershing 2 missiles worked or not. Pershing 2 was a deterrent. It wasn’t meant to be used, but it’s purpose was to sow fear into the enemy preventing the Soviets from invading, by making them think what might happen to them. A game of bluff.
Research has answered all the red flags that surrounding the Noss story. Noss was not a Doctor, rather Noss peddled Schrols foot powder where Schcoos would give their salesmen a fake doctor's degree, with Noss using that with trying to make money as a foot doctor. THERE IS NO GOLD, Noss made up the story to cheat investors out of money with one investor shooting Nos dead with being found NOT GUILTY AT A JURY TRIAL. Find out the real story about Noss's scam by going to the RU-vid channel Dona Ana County Historical Society video named: Jim Eckles on Victorio Peak - 450 Tons of Gold or One Tall Tell. The investor scam continued into the 1990's. The biggest red flag to the whole story is Noss was supposed to have taken out gold bars with burying gold stashes around the desert, while Noss's family living in poverty while still selling the scame to investors. I am glad I found out the REAL TRUTH before wasting time and effort, not alone wasting money to investigate and dowse for gold in person with military escorts. P.S. The Lost Dutchman Mine was completely mined out at the Goldfields Mines, yet people are still searching for the mine. The only truth about that story is Weavers Needle, which can be seen from Goldfields. The Dutchman also lived and died poor, with not being able to go back for more gold because someone claimed it with starting the Goldfields Mines so go figure !

i just found my favourite non nuclear explosion of all time this was a nuclear test where the US nuclear defense agency just put like 4.6 tons of amonium nitrate into a big ball and then detonated it because why not the ball was the equivalent of 8kt of tnt hiroshima for comparison was 15kt of tnt

@@xianshi8896 For a groundburst consider everyone within the 5 psi radius to be finished. For a ground burst you can calculate the radius with a simple formula. r=450*(yieldInKilotons)^(1/3) For example for a 5 kiloton surface burst. 450*(5)^(1/3) =769 Meters
