Isn’t there rules about the length of the skirts? No more than FOUR inches ABOVE THE KNEE? Looks more like TEN INCHES. When the girls bend to bow to the judges and the musicians, they are showing their kick-pants to everyone.
I'm not trying to be a jerk but I've noticed the music that typically accompanies these dancers is very bland and uninteresting. I have noticed that when I watch Appalachian cloggers or flat footers the music is sprightly, fast and fun. What gives?
I opened this with the thought that I would skim through it but it felt so disrespectful to such wonderful talent that I ended up watching it from start to finish, totally enthralled.
Wonderful dancers, no doubt. However, I detest Michael Flatley's obsession with [hideous wigs] and the Las Vegas stye of wardrobe. Put boys in kilts and girls in the Irish traditional embroidered dresses please!
That's what I'd like to know. I competed in the NY area 30-38 years ago. John Jennings was roughly 4 years older than I, and I'm currently 47. If John Jennings Jr. in this video is the son of the John Jennings I knew in NY, I'd like to know which one he is - although I made a guess as to who he is based on the way that his father danced.🤷♀️
Traditionally, ladies would curl their hair to perform, but they designed wigs to make hair easier to do. The style has been getting bigger recently (:
