I have always admired the Ministry of Dr. Robert Schuller and now, his grandson, Bobby. Both of these ministers hired the best musicians consistently. I had the privilege of playing piano for Tom Tipton for 35 years, featured on the Hour of Power Broadcast. If other churches want to be successful, there is no better model than Shepherds Grove, Hour of Power and the Crystal Cathedral. Dr. Arthur George Scott
My husband & I sang this with the choir at First Baptist Church of Brandon, probably in 1979. I have never forgotten the wonderful music and was thrilled to find this recording.
Every single one of the songs played in the intro brings an instant smile to my face, and a warmth to my heart. And that’s before even a single note has been sung.
I know it! And every time I hear it! I want to sing Edelweiss as well! I might get the scorebook of it. And I think that I will! My late mother loved it. I do - as well!
This great concert will be around for many years. All the wonderful people involved in the production of this video will be forever young. Their families will be able to see them for generations to come. Its a wonderful record of their talents. I hope every one in this video will be blessed. Thanks for the music.
I've just stumbled on the John Wilson Orchestra videos and HOW LUCKY AM I? They are absolutely wonderful. I play dinner music at a local aged care home twice a week and all these songs are included in my repertoire. They are magnificent. There is rarely anything like them now - although music from the Phantom of the Opera does come to mind. Thank you, whoever you are, for posting them on RU-vid. You have made my day (and week and month and year). 👏
I'm 66, I remember my grandma and I watching this show with her, after dinner and the dishes were done we'd go in the living room and embroider while watching both The Carol Burnette and Mama's Family. I was raised very modestly and I stopped watching TV and movies, I'm uncomfortable with the violence, sex, nudity and language. I kind of wish the the people that rate the TV shows and movies would rate most of them X rated
Funny still...and not one f..word! Too many so called comedians now think raw vulgarity is a must! Sadder even still they are half right as too many people now only laugh at that!
It's so hard to believe these characters aren't real people, they are so brilliantly acted and the writing so superb. I see my family in them, and I'm sure many other people do, too. I remember watching these skits when they were originally on. We didn't realize the talent that was right before us. Today's shows can't hold a candle to this one.
Both Carol Burnett and Dick VanDyke were seasoned stage actors, accustomed to live acting and staying in character when things didn't go according to script. I've seen Carol stay in character and not miss a beat while she was singing, when the scene was deliberately sabotaged. Every thing went wrong in that scene and Carol acted like it was rehearsed that way. Tim Conway is one of the best straight men ever to take the stage. He could pull off the most outlandish lines and seldom break a smile. So to watch Tim destroy Carol and Dick like that was priceless. Then to have Vicky destroy all of them with one adlib line... beyond priceless!
