People don’t rate the early stuff because teenage girls liked it. I’m convinced. It’s like a bizarre music snob truism that anything teenage girls like is irrelevant and cringe. The opening hook of She Loves You tricks you about how what key the song is going to be in TWICE. They were writing like their lives depended on it right out of the gate. What’s more, the real achievement of The Beatles was marrying the energy of Rock & Roll with the harmonic complexity of American Songbook and Jazz. They were doing that from the first album and you could easily argue they spent 63-66 inventing Classic Rock. They kicked the door down and showed everyone you can write a song covered in modal mixture and key changes, and it’s still Rock as long as you’ve got the right energy and the right drummer. Jimmy can say what he wants, but Led Zep would never have happened without the moptops and the screaming girls. It is beyond ludicrous to say they were nothing to write home about.
I was born in the 70s, and thinking back, it's really not uncommon when you look at the world. No matter what side you fall on. Today, it's just so much more magnified and scrutinized. I have a teenage daughter, and there is no way in Hell would I ever allow her to even talk to some 30 something year old man. I mean, wtf could they even have in common? What does a grown ass man have to say to any teenage girl in actuality? It's optically not a good look, but really, how different is it from a situation today like Dr. Disrespect in todays climate compared to these years past? It's not different. Public perception is the difference, no matter if it's actually right or wrong. As far as this clip goes, yeah, im totally getting creeper vibes from him.
Crosby, a bloated carcass full of drugs every drug and chemical known to man.. Yup, thats him!! There is absolutely no other reason he should not be in the hall of fame. This is pretty disgusting!!
Back then I was 21 my girlfriend was 16 I had known her for several years as she was the daughter of one of my father’s friends, it wasn’t considered weird by anyone.. Remember in 1980 there was on internet and very few people had yet discovered cell phones so you typically dated within a relatively small group especially if you lived in a more rural area.. that being said 27/16 is a real stretch..
As soon as he plays it you know it’s Paul’s tone!!! Unmistakable. I believe he played all the guitars on this track but who knows???? Amazing song and I loveeee that rhythm!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
Same thing happened to me but i grew up loving Angus and AC/DC as a kid then when i was 13 my friend showed me Hendrix , it blew me away when i heard him. Same friend was a big Zappa and Pink Floyd fan but that took me longer to appreciate that stuff.
