Come follow all of my angling adventures as I travel the U.S. looking for ALL the fish!
To give you the quick rundown, my wife Jacy and I travel the U.S. full time, and I fish everywhere we go (literally everywhere!)
Although not all of our stops are major fishing destinations, I seem to find a place to wet a line at every stop, uncovering some hidden gems along the way.
Guy Jean's is a catch n release fly guide. He wouldn't send anyone there who might not be releasing on the wild trout section. Once was Zero limit single baroness Got the whole Ketrn .
Beeline Highway Out of Mesa Arizona east of Phoenix , Salt River is a tail water trout fishery. Upstream its headwaters are a native trout fishery and Small Pugh in the Middle Black river in the Pines of the White Mountain Apache Reservation. So fish in Salt River in Winter. Though it’s cold enough for trout year round in the summer Thousands tube and boat Salt River
@12:10 Nice little flyover courtesy of NAS Lemoore! Probably F-18s out for a little rip in the Sierras, worked on those for years and yeah, they're real loud. 😂
If you think this lake is great...go to Henry's Lake in Idaho, and hit all the rivers and lakes around it..just out side Yellowstone...and you're welcome.
I was thinking..maybe..it is a possibility that they were breaking you off on the rocks?...those big rocks in that riprap you were standing on look pretty rough..🤷♂️
1. I been fishing this creek and up stream for over 45 years,,,I only use one bait to knock them dead,, Single hook salmon egg,,,2. If you go way down 2-4 miles …down piru you’ll run into some big pools with huge trout,,1 lb plus trout,,,3. The fishing up-stream towards the Dam is good also,,,
Fished Piru often in the 70s. At Frenchmans and also downstream near the old Blue Point Campground up from Lake Piru. We would hike up to Ellis Apiary and the gorge. Some true wilderness and good trout and bass fishing near where Fish Creek pours in. Nasty little black flies are a beech. Thanks for stirring up the memories.
Native "KRR's" seldom work their way that far downriver. You have to push quite a bit farther upstream from the highway bridge to start connecting with them regularly, and like any native trout, they are much more picky and spooky than your typical planter...
That is why I never fish in national parks, because all the wildlife cops are there in these places. I prefer to fish in some channel around than to go to a national park to fish.
Fished this stretch of the Kern many times before. So many memories! So glad you got hooked up. There’s stoneflies in this river so the fly you chose was key
I don't know where the rugged sportsman's getting his information but there's nothing but native fish there. That's why it's completely catch and release barbless hook single hook setup no bait.
I only own Pflueger reels. I have used them forever and they are great for a cheap price. This rod is a Lews. Don’t love it don’t hate it. Thanks for watching!
I vary speeds and settle on whatever the fish seem to like. Holding fish like that to take the hook out is pretty standard practice. Thanks for watching!
