@@zaxmaxlax Sure, it's an add2 embellishment. It doesn't negate the main idea and function of the chord, which is Major 1st inversion. Add2 Major triads happen all the time in pop music. Adds a nice spice without extending it to a 7th chord. You're doing a 9chord essentially without the maj7
I've always loved him, and I'm a major ROCK player and lover. David Bowie, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Jeff Beck, Zappa, etc., But....I've always adored soul and analog funk as well (JB, Funkadelic, Ohio Players, TOP, Bar-Kays, AWB, Kool & The Gang, etc.) jazz fusion too. And when I started playing in 1976 at age 10, both ROCK and FUNK were huge for me. So when I discovered Chic in '78-'79, it felt as natural as that maple fretboard that Nile Rodgers has abused with unbridled, joyous passion ever since. And man, those jazz elements made disco cool. Everybody Dance, Le Freak, Good Times, etc. No one could say "Disco Sucks" when they heard those killer, heartbreaking changes in "I Want Your Love" ...It's the sound of genuinely falling in love. The real shit. And then what he did for other acts such as Sister Sledge. And to me, their two greatest numbers, "He Is The Greatest Dancer" and "Lost in Music" is absolute magic! ✨ So for me, this is nothing new. This is one of the greatest guitarists, and guitar innovators ever. Plus, a great guy too. You can't lose with Nile. Marc ⚡
I hear guitarists try to dimish his work. You simply can't. He's sold more units than you can imagine in a variety of genres. His work, universal appeal, and longevity speak for themselves

I don’t understand the things Nile’s doing but it sounds great. All that technical stuff, to difficult for me. But the T-shirt is superb. Have the same one.
Nile Rodgers is in my opinion the most underrated of the greats, and possibly even my personal favourite because he was always about the song and the music more than the guitar and showing off - and his style is one of the few that has stood the test of time, that still totally slaps and fits as much in a song on the radio today as it did back in the 70s and 80s. Hendrix, SRV, Clapton, Page etc...they were all obviously great, but they were guitarists first and musicians second whereas Nile was always the opposite - everything he did, he did quietly and humbly in service of the music in front of him...I guess funk guitarists are almost more like drummers in that way. They don't take the big solos but they're so much more in tune with the fabric of the music itself, and in the case of a great like Nile Rodgers, their rhythm playing has basically been the foundation that entire catalogues of amazing music have been held up by and built from. Hats off
I saw Nile and Chic recently in Nassau. Astonishing is not the word. Songs with simple lyrics like "I Want Your Love" have always been made meaningful by the fantastic music and performance. I am so glad Nile is fond of Georgio. My friends and I were too when we discovered Chic. What a guy.
These vids can cut out learning time for some people by decades. And I mean that literally. They just have to have that passion for it with the basics in hand. Bless you people.

Not only a musical genius, but always comes across as a very humble and extremely nice person. His influence and contribution to popular music has put him up there with the greats for me 👌 Well done Nile to all your lifes work achievements 👏👏👏👏👏
Awesome! He's amazing. We've lost musicianship in Pop music I owe that to everyone with a computer being able to make a record when In prior decades you had to earn a record deal.
