Hey all! It's ya boy, snivypootis! I'm a final fantasy xiv content creator who does short uploads, discussions videos, full blown montages, guides and more! I cover all things final fantasy xiv, so feel free to subscribe! #ffxiv #ffxivonline
Over 90% of the content in the game is level-synced. It's getting really obvious what they've been trying to do for the last 2 expansions, and now Dawntrail. I wonder how long it will take for people to understand that the goal is to cripple levelling even more. (I guess the boost pots are not selling that well?)
I'm a casual blm main and I do like the changes but that's because I didn't invest the time in learning nonstandard rotation so not much is changing for me since I mainly stuck to the standard rotation. I am excited for the one time use to move ley lines though!! Haha
These are the skill that will be deleted or change in Dawntail 7.0 Dark Knight [Blood Weapon(delete), Delirium(delete), Plunge(delete)] Gunbreaker [Rough Divide(delete)] Dragoon [Dragon Sight(delete), Spineshatter Dive(delete)] Ninja [Huton(effects will change), Huraijin(delete)] Samurai [Kaeshi: Higanbana(delete), Shoha(effects will change), Shoha 2(delete)] Bard [Wanderer's Minuet(effects will change), Mage's Ballad(delete), Army's Paeon(effects will change) Black Mage [Sharpcast(delete)] Astrologian [Minor Arcana and Draw(effects will change), Redraw(delete), Astrodyne(delete)]
you listed mage's ballad as deleted when its getting the same change as the other two songs. i said your changes were wrong but its just that one. either blood weapon or delerium should be listed under effect change because BW now upgrades into delerium that now has its effect changed
Hey dude don't be so hard on yourself. 💙 Nothing you said in this video (and just checked the previous) was mean spirited it's just how you feel. If your words are coming from the heart then there's no need to apologize. You may not have been 100% informed (who really is) but that doesn't diminish how you were feeling about it. It's all good - Much love enjoy DT :3
Someone new here. You did end up in my recommended. I understand you're trying to apologize, but plugging subscribe and like before getting into the apology is wild. XD
You live and learn. I wouldn't beat yourself up so much. I tend to agree with what the others said. People who are rushing through the story to level crafters amd gatherers plus their main is no fun but something no one mentioned is the bots on the marketboards, they are churning out gear and materials that aren't even humanly possible to do. This way everyone will have a chance to level crafters etc before the high end recipes drop and without the stress. Some people actually enjoy the crafting etc side.
Honestly bots didn't even cross my mind, because absolutely people will be selling the gear at a ridiculous price to make Gil off raiders who have way too much to spend
@@snivypootis8959 Normally yes when there aren't many sellers. People do hike up the prices but more people will be in a position to craft which may prevent that somewhat. Items should be more expensive initially but not extortionate. There's too many bots with inhuman resources and crafts. How on earth do they have 100s of materials from timed nodules when you physically cannot do it, even if you had multiple levelled alts and 50 hrs a day lol and 20 hands.
oh no, i cant have perfect best in slot for new content like the other 95% of the player base who doesnt have 10+ hrs a day to throw at a game. cry more. prior to endwalker, this is how it originally was.
I actually know that's how it was prior to endwalker, and I actually don't really care too much as it doesn't affect me, I just wanted to give my opinion on the matter, really the video isn't speaking from my perspective, rather people who told me about it and were complaining, probably wouldn't have even realized this was happening if I hadn't been told
@snivypootis8959 if you don't care, why give your opinion, that is also somehow not your opinion, it's just what super sweats cried about? whom probably never played before endwalker if they cried about this. Cared enough to make this on a very unpopular opinion that's not yours.
Simply because I thought it was a bigger issue than it was, I just didn't do enough research before hand, I apologize for the bad take on this and truly did not mean to offend anyone, you are absolutely correct, thank you
I can see that my takes I talked about in this video regarding crafting changes for raiding gear aren't received well, I should reiterate I only really started doing any raiding in endwalker so my experiences aren't very fleshed out, I'll work on my takes in future videos so it doesn't come off as a major bitch session, thanks for the feedback ❤
Yes you gain more stress to try to be first to clear. But you gained more time to practice and prepare. No matter what the Crafters and Gatherers had to be leveled to make the gear. Now they don't have to necessarily rush the story just to do it, they have time to prepare, get their potential macros set up, maybe even gather the materials needed to make the gear, or at the very least unlock the nodes to gather them, start building up the stockpile of scrips/tomes to buy materials to turn into gear pieces.
Personally I can't say I understand it too terribly well, but then again I'm not a huge raider myself, so the change just didn't make much sense to me but I can understand both sides really
I don't clear Savage, I don't run Ultimates, and even I know that Day 1 crafting is historically part of the World First racing experience. It gives crafters a HIGHER purpose and end-game when they get to participate in the World Race by CRAFTING. It's called role playing. It literally HELPS the World Race, and doesn't hurt it. An non-static raiders are still gonna do PF clears even if they have pay higher MB prices for their gear. What you're proposing is less incentive to be a crafter, and thus less role playing.
And I can completely get that, again it's more of a thing like I'm not super experienced with raiding or being in the crafting position as I've only been in this case for a year, so really I can't say I understand too much so I'm just going off my own thoughts and experiences
The incentive to be a crafter is to make/save gil and the convenience of being able to repair, not to feel like they're part of a worlds first race that realistically they barely had anything to do with. There are plenty of crafters without this. If you want to roleplay there are endless opportunities to do so in this degenerate game, the majority of which don't involve making the experience worse for those of us who actually intend to participate in the raid. Out of all the reasons I've seen for defending this poor decision, this has to be by far the most delusional one.
Ha money for me. YES!!! I love this. I am happy about this. I have 2 gold khloe certs. Thanks SE, I love to hear these "end game" raiders cry that their fight is harder. They wanted harder and now you made it harder and here they are crying. YES!
I'm but a noob on BLM, but I'm glad Sharpcast is gone. It never really felt right to manage. And the dual purpose of buffing Fire III somewhat like an illusion of choice, or at the best a niche application I'd forget if it ever came up. It somehow felt likethe job was made more complex just for the sake of complexity, basically managing 2 buttons to apply 1 effect.
I can definitely understand that yeah, it just will take getting used to it not being a thing anymore, not against it being removed, but it's just gonna be really weird
can't wait to login after maint, pray the datamined resources are correct, instantly craft for 8 people before raid like 1 hour later (while crafting all of it probably takes almost that full hour) yeh really bad change
Savage drops on 7/30 Tue. Alongside the map hunt, Allagan Tomestones of Heliometry and Master Recipes and Crafted gear this was on the official upcoming schedule.
I've seen literally no one complain about this until this video randomly showed up on youtube for me. Maybe it's just the super sweaty min-maxxers complaining and I don't hang out in those circles.
I'm not a sweat by any means, I've only raided for about a year, and even then I don't world first or anything, not complaining about it, more just giving my thoughts as I heard this from a more experienced raider
I’m so happy that we don’t have to keep up with the thunder dot anymore and just cast it when swapping elements. It makes me wonder if this will make ss blm more viable since we can just cast two ice spells without waiting for server ticks and go back into fire faster. I’m pretty open minded to these new changes honestly.
This is actually how it worked for the first tier of Endwalker. The nice prep time seems to be more of a product of circumstances with the intention of the break to allow for people to do the patches story free from worry in the x.2 and x.4 raid tiers
Yeahhh I apologize if I sound ignorant, it's more of a case of me not being too familiar with things due to being new to raiding relatively, only really started in endwalker
@snivypootis8959 your opinion is super valuable and needed. However saying that nobody wanted this is just simply not true. My friends are excited for the change to make big profits on gil. This also makes old school groups with a 9th or 10th member for world first races really valuable. The 9th member will craft gear for the raiding team while they rush for world first clears or server first clears. If you also take a look at p10s no groups actually did that on min I level because crafted gear already outclassed the min requirements. Raiding on min I level or sub min I level on the first week Is the difficulty I would like to have going in.
I welcome this change it is how it always used to be. Every single raid group having access to crafted gear on day 1 was not the normal thing for all of this game until endwalker. This makes those who took the time to level crafters more meaningful. This brings back day 1 min I level sync raiding and will be exciting moving foward
I've been playing BLM since 2.0 at the start. We had our high and lows for sure. Some claim BLM is one of the hardest jobs to pick up. I tend to agree. I have cleared every savages and extreme with BLM so far and I still love BLM. I like how we are not a reactive job but more of proactive job. Which naturally makes BLM the hardest to proc with. I am to a point where I tend to memorize floor patterns and the timing of my comrade as part of my rotation. That being said, I feel like BLM has to jump thru so much hurdles to make it work. Where as SMN is a braindead job that aren't too far from BLM's average people's capabilities. I feel like BLM gameplay is risky in nature but low on reward. Either make the job more accessible or make it more rewarding to play. BLM already suffers from stigmata.
I can't say I'm a super experienced black mage player because I started during shadowbringers, but yeah it definitely feels like it changes so drastically through the levels
Sorry for being off-topic, but how did you get the overhead HP bars to be big like that? I've been trying to figure that out but haven't been able to. I do have Dalamud, if that's required. More on topic, as someone who only plays standard Black Mage I'm looking forward to the changes. My only concern is how they handle out-of-combat mana management at lower levels (when you don't have Umbral Soul). It would suck if your only option is to lose all stacks and wait for passive mana recovery.
It's been so long since I've messed with those settings, but it should be character settings and display name, somewhere around there As for the black mage changes, I do agree it would be kinda annoying if they don't adjust umbral soul because recovery on blm always sucks
I have a friend who is super slow and constantly makes mistakes in rotation yet still enjoys black mage despite it's challenge. The passive MP regen with one umbral ice let them have leeway in moving around whilst regening, now they will have to strictly cast ice spells to get that regen. This might actually put off some casual players too who liked the passive MP regen.
I think this is a bigger problem then it at first appears. This reduces black mage mobility...in a class that already has mobility issues. Now you can't even regen mp while moving? OK guess I just won't move and if I die...cool. If you can't play your class either way dying or not doesn't matter.
I don't mind BLM skill ceiling being lowered. I've always wanted to main the job since ShB but didn't have the knowledge and skill to play it at savage+ level. I didn't even know non standard existed since I always played standard. They removed the proc rng that I hated about the job. So overall a win for me. I get why some players are frustrated still.
Nonstandard wasn’t needed for savage though and no one bat an eye if players used standard there. I bet even some savage players didn’t know it existed. Just making it so every spell in ice phase gave mana back would have been enough.
but it would raise the skill floor however, since we did lose some of flexibility (like mana regeneration depends on cast, thunder not being able to pre pull cast, more fire dependent, more punishing if you drop either phases - since the few reason you play blm is high dps and kaboom), so early blm player will have a harder time grinding to newer content
I always played BLM the way they are forcing us to now (ie I never did transpose shenanigans) so for me these changes are a win as its only making the way I was already playing BLM even better. I can see how the BLM players that were playing more nonstandard would be disappointed though, but yeah I personally love it and am looking forward to it.
Losing ice paradox hurts the most for me, i love that spell and being able to cast in both frost and fire was cool. It also made sense since its both elements in one
I'm honestly so over being mad about job changes. It's always like buff and dot taken away from monk, monk deadge, non standard blm gone, blm deadge, kaiten removed from samurai, the job is literally unplayable. I get that it means a lot to people, and i don't want to trivialise that, but I'm so done with dooming myself, and just want to focus on the cool shit
@@shizachan8421 don't get me wrong, SE has made some baaaad decisions with the jobs through the years, and ofc it feels awful when the things you like about a job are taken away (RIP optimal drift, it was fun while it lasted), but I just want to keep a positive mindset for my own wellbeing
@@Snowinmyears Tbh, I think some job changes are okay, some are just plain bad. DRK is already a mess and now it loses more of the one thing it still had going, which was its busy burst phase and Summoner is basically just dead as a job.
only 30 secs in vid to hear about the Blm dilemma is about and no the job isnt dead its just a job that is rarely used outside of endgame content afterall all jobs suck below lvl 60 but Blm suck even harder in potd they call Blm scathe mage
I thought the overwhelming consensus from the ppl that went to the media tour was that picto and viper are hella easy...? The combo quite literally guides you through the optimal rotation for those jobs.
Don't know about picto, as I'm a melee player, but viper is gonna be pretty easy to pick up and do well on. That being said it seems like there's a bit more nuance to the burst windows and how you manage your resources during a fight (like getting an extra reawaken between 6-8min in full uptime). It probably won't be that much of an issue, but no, it won't just show you the optimal rotation by following the buttons that light up
Picto has the potential for more intricate play as you'll have to balance when to use the draw mechanic and its abilities with the spells using the palette mechanic and when to use those. It almost feels like 2 completely different mechanics from 2 different jobs mashed in to one, both vying for your attention. It'll be interesting to see how to optimize it once people get their hands on it.
Like don't get me wrong I agree it's a bit of a bummer that your loosing non standard but, I feel like you can't expect square to cater to a play style they never intended to be a thing in the first place, FF players got smart and played around with the server tick system, which yes is advanced stuff but if it wasn't intended to be played that way because of a bad system using mana tick, I don't feel like square should have to deal with the nightmare of re designing the job around a system they didn't intend. But it's nice to see your someone keeping a positive outlook on it too, it's nice to see someone not totally jumping on the shit train
Yeah I always choose to see the brighter side of things rather than just go like "OH MY GOD THEY MADE CHANGES IT'S SHIT NOW" because it just kinda puts everyone in a rage for now reason
I mean, the "recover MP when casting GCDs in ice" change would've been plenty to make it not reliant on janky MP ticks if it wasn't just the ice aspected ones
@@nospoiler yeah but unfortunately relying on those mana ticks is what enables you to play non standard, but to do it correctly your required to have a mana ticker plug in and be in control of the countdown to your party to line up the ticks correctly for your pull....and you shouldn't ha e to rely on a plug in to be able to play your job, that's also why monk got changed too, the optimal drift on monk was never really supposed to exist ether
@ginge2062 yes, that's how it is currently. And making any spell cast under ice recover MP would mean that transpose > paradox (2500) > xeno > (7500) high thunder (10000) would have you be at full mana without any reliance on tick tracking
@@ginge2062 you don't need a plugin to do optimal drift. Commonly used plugins for monk are for solving ping issues, and solving the weird interaction between your gcd and your fps; both of which are redundant if you have good ping, and use a 1.93 set. The monk changes were mostly just for accessibility to newer players
Transpose will still be used very often bc its still ideal to instacast blizzard 3 under ice or use your guaranteed firestarter fire 3 under fire. Casting those in the opposite element makes them do massively reduced damage.
Whereas ice paradox was often used as the instant cast for weaving transpose>F3P, that job will probably have to go to HThunder now, preferably a Xeno if you can spare it and Thunder dot is a little too fresh. It's worth it to transpose> instant B3 if you have the instant (like say a stack of triplecast leftover after Flare Star) but not something you really need to target. It has the same gain as instant F4, so instant B3 is more of an incidental thing if it comes up.
Continuing my previous comment after realizing something. With the potency buff to B3, if F4 doesn't change it might be a bigger gain to instant B3 in UI1. If that's the case it might be better to triple, Despair, Flare Star, transpose, B3 as opposed to starting triple with the last F4.
1:57 the amount of MP restored depends on your stacks of umbral ice: 2.5k at UI 1; 5k at UI 2; and 10k at UI 3. so from AF 3, B3 --> UI 3 means one B4 fully restores your MP. (as of media tour info) also sick art uwu
loved the viper class because of the style of clothing, I love clothes like Assassin's Creed, this job class looks like a mix of swordsman, Warrior, guardian, thief, ninja and lancer, dragon, almost reaching a very cool gladiator class job that is not in this game and this would be a mix of swordsman and paladin, the same as a guardian, but it lacked a whip again, urumi mace, kusarigama chain, scyther or snake sword whip retractable blade for this job class viper or even another class job in this style or remembering Auron from ffx 10 with this type of weapon and enchanter skills such as vagrant story, witcher and perhaps together or separately from the shapeshifter or complete morpher skill. There is a dragoon but there is still no valkyria mixed class of cleric and dragoon lancer rune knight dancer or singer just for girls like ravness from tactics ogre, paladin, the warrior in this version with an ax like a Viking barbarian instead of two swords or a large and robust buster sword like Cloud from ff7, monk, red mage class that is missing in the tactical versions of final fantasy, reaper that looks like a necromancer and dark knight, machinist the eenginer gunner pirate gun mage and alchemist in a single class all mixed with a cowboy outfit looked really cool, There's a black and white wizard, a ninja job class half a swordsman a thief an enchanter and elemental warrior, Summoners, dancer, bard, a mix of a singer and an archer, a ranger, there's the new class pictormancer, magic paintings, it was cool, I thought it would be something between relm from ff 6 to trainer from ff 5 or the cardish class from arc the lad 3, but it was good, giving the touch of fantasy childlike innocence, less violent or aggressive that the other classes don't have, to give the game a real touch and be half and half non-violent too much and without Don't lose the fantasy innocence and childishness, sage magic lasers of pure energy job class that plus the swordsman class makes the gladiator and or guardian class, and next to these two job classes in addition to the paladin there is the samurai and the gunbreaker that resembles squall from ff 8 and the class job gunn warrior from wild arms. Anyway, I hope for role-playing games, or action and adventure, metroidevania platform with graphics playing like the drawings sketches in drawings of final fantasy tactics, vagrant story, tactics ogre, live a live or like pastel painting of the screen drawings status of characters from Legend of Dragoons, Sword of Vagrant, uncorn overlord equal graphics for both characters and scenery in 2d, 3d or a mix of both hand painted or not and magic effects between laser beams like Final Fantasy Dawntrail 14 or anime style like Street Fighter Alpha or Guity Gear. Final fantasy dawntrail 14 is certainly another masterpiece game that many have seen, it looks like an excellent game, beautiful graphics, characters and job class, a great video.
The PLL explained more about AST. The RNG is removed yes but the card effects are no longer solely about damage. Balance/Spear is damage, Bole/Arrow is defense, and Ewer/Spire are heals. The entire suite will always have a damage, defense, and healing component to it. Also the animation for the draw is literally Sleeve Draw from Stormblood so hell yeah. Also, Astrodyne ded. RIP.
fully did bozja got lv 25... the thing that irkls me is farming the notes. still need note 14 orsmth so ill need to solo a boss (wich i cant) or get lucky, started grinding it in 2021 orso still dont have it (i farm there 1ce a week)
I barely did Bozja when it was out. I did the all relics grind, but I did it through a lot of the dungeon and raid grinding outside of Bozja. lol The only grind in Bozja I did was Delebrum Reginae for one of the final parts of the relic grind. And I barely started Zadnor.
Bozja was just so much of a missed opportunity, especially in terms of world building. I only had enough willpower to complete 1 weapon and that's probably the case for a lot of other people. One of my friends who loves the Bozjan lore and is a big collector even said that he felt the whole thing was lacking even for him. It would be nice if SE would expand on it, but it might be a bit foolish to hope for considering the focus on the upcoming expansion and features.
It's nice that a lot of the restrictions are removed for Savage, and tombstones can now cap at 900 per week. I'm surprised that they haven't removed the Thaleia coin restriction too. I guess they are saving that unlock for the .58 patch.
During the keynote presentation it was said Pictomancer will have be able to support the party. Will it have a raid buff. I believe so. Also it's said to not be super supportive like per se dancer but also not attack focus like per se blm.
@@Bassnerd I believe it will be a very versatile job since it won’t have a res. It will probably have a shield or damage reduction ability, a heal and damage increase buff. So I’m thinking more on the lines of the ninja of the casters. Ninja too is a versatile job that has support skills and dps but they aren’t near Sam’s level of damage.
It's not entirely unlikely it won't have a raid buff, but at the same time it would be surprising if it did, then again I'm not sure if they only want one selfish DPS per category of DPS
@@snivypootis8959 They could be removing res from casters too which will completely change the game for them. Remember Yoshi said summoner kept its res spell by the skin of its teeth. It might be going bye bye in 7.0. Also if pictomancer was gonna be selfish dps they would have told us. They specifically said “They will buff the party” that’s not a selfish dps. Selfish dps is like samurai, blm, whm and sage. They don’t buff the party in anyway. They buff themselves.
Cover use to reduce the damage you'd take for allies. But since nerfed ages ago by taking full damage and added Job Gauge cost, it often isnt worth it. I see many PLDs get themselves killed instead.
I think it just looks silly, and out of place. However, its practicality might be pretty good. I thought SCH was gonna be lame and it quickly became my main, and it had to be nerfed. Guess we'll see. Thanks for the video, fellow Warrior of Light. P.S. pictomancer shows up in FFVI, brave exvios, and relm arrowny. So no one has really heard of it, much less played it.
I knew it came from somewhere else! I just couldn't remember what I saw it in before, Thank you for the clarification! It does look super out of place I agree, but my only hope that it is good in raids
@snivypootis8959 I think of myself as an FF superman. I even have the tattoos of the scions. But I'll be honest with you, I had to look up pictomancer. 😅🤣. Anyway, it's just really nice to be back in the FFXIV community in a way. I've been away for years. Not my choice, but no one wants to hear about that. I'm just soaking it all up where I can. Thank you for bringing to fans, and hopefully, those who may become fans
i feel like it might be somewhere in between black mage and summoner? the concept slide they shown mentions long casts while also having a bunch of instant casts on hand
