Rafael: I really want to thank you for creating the original Elongated Gearbox Pro Power pickleball paddle. I love this paddle so much that I bought two of them and then I added different amounts of weights to each one for a different feel and I might buy another one and not add any weights to it so I have 3 different variations of This paddle to play with. Keep up the good work.

Play proceeds in this pattern: A player moves to the other side of their half of the court if they win the point on their serve while the other player stays put. If no point is no won, players stay on the sides of the court they're on for the other player's serve.

Am I the only person who finds that the Pro Power Elongated has a good enough sweet spot, good at resets, good for dinking.....ok, took a while for hand battles at the kitchen.....Power is amazing. For me, the hope I had for this paddle was more spin. Spin is ok on the Pro power, but much less than others. I had hoped for the best of all world's.....😂 Haven't ruled this out....but will wait to see what others say when they have played with it for a bit....

No, there are many player who can master the Pro Power Elongated, the issue is understanding how to utilize the technology. The PPE requires slight modification of your stroke. The new Ultimate reduces the learning curve and is very easy to use. The spin on the Ultimate has also increased.

If rules state no foam or eva foam compressible materials be used in the core. And pretty much the whole core is all foam barely any carbon. How is this passing
@rafaelfilippini3863
@rafaelfilippini3863 23 дня назад
The structure is entirely constructed from carbon fiber and epoxy resin, encompassing the core, perimeter frame, face plies, and handle. The carbon fiber's strength is evident in our ribs and other frame structures, which measure only 0.018" to 0.045" in width; hence, they can easily blend into the foam when the paddle is cut. The foam serves as a non-structural role, primarily used for shaping the core tubes, while other expanding foams assist in internal pressurization of the structure. Additionally, the foam effectively manages vibration and sound frequencies, enhancing damping for improved feel and sound quality. It is important to note that the foam does not contribute to the paddle's structural integrity nor does it enhance energy transfer to the ball. The superior energy return is solely attributed to the carbon fiber composition that forms the entirety of our paddle.

The original elongated GearBox Pro Power Paddle is the ultimate and a person has the option to add lead weights to The original elongated GearBox Pro Power Paddle to change the characteristics of the GearBox Pro Power Paddle for more stability and control if that is what they want. if a person wants the control of the ultimate then buy the Gearbox Pro Control Elongated. @rafaelfilippini3863 23 дня назад
Not entirely true. They are very distinct paddles. Weight alone does not significantly alter the performance of the paddle. The core in the new Ultimate is completely redesigned to provide stability, control, and more spin, yet we retain a lot of the power. It's a balance of all in one paddle. The twist weight was kept low intentionally to keep the paddle agile yet stable also providing you with the ability to customize the paddle slightly if needed.
@peteherrera1502
@peteherrera1502 21 день назад
@@rafaelfilippini3863 I humbly and respectively submit that a person can add lead weights to control twist weight, add stability, and give you better control which I have done with the two original elongated Pro Power Paddles that I have. which can also give you a wider sweep spot by adding lead weights. and the only real thing that might make the new paddle distinct really is the thickness of the paddle which requires more foam which gives it a more controlled feel. The paddle you call the Ultimate paddle should have been a replacement to the Pro Control Paddle and compared to the Elongated Pro Control and not the Elongated Pro Power in my humble opinion. I would also like to see Gearbox make a 8" or more wide-body SST Core carbon fiber Pro Power Paddle with the handle length now of the elongated pro power for two handed backhands using the same ideas material, and concepts that went into the Gearbox Elongated Pro Power Paddle.

Rising Pickleball Star Alix Truong Aims for Greatness, One Point at a Time Professional Phenom Follows Passion from Tennis Courts to Pickleball Primacy In the rapidly growing world of professional pickleball, few athletes embody the sport's youthful dynamism and boundless potential quite like Alix Truong. At 19 years old, the Utah resident has already established herself as a formidable force on the court, her powerful groundstrokes and deft touch around the net leaving opponents in awe. Yet, it is Truong's palpable enthusiasm and relentless pursuit of excellence that truly set her apart, captivating fans and foreshadowing a career destined for pickleball greatness. 1:35, Are you a morning trainer or a post-lunch trainer? Truong's dedication to her craft begins before most people have had their first cup of coffee. A self-proclaimed night owl, she has embraced the discipline of an early riser, often hitting the gym by 8:30 a.m. for a comprehensive training regimen overseen by her personal team of experts. "I don't like to sit still," she confesses with a laugh. "I always joke about it to people, but I just have to be doing something." That "something" typically involves a morning workout followed by two to five hours of on-court drilling and recreational play, bookended by recovery sessions and strategic planning. 4:00, How did you get into pickleball? Truong's pickleball journey began somewhat serendipitously during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a high school tennis player, she found herself locked out of the public courts near her home when they were closed due to safety restrictions. A friend's private court, adorned with pickleball lines, piqued her curiosity, and before long, Truong was hooked. "I signed up for my first tournament with my dad the next month," she recalls, "and just fell in love with it like everybody else." Her rapid ascent in the sport was fueled by an unyielding commitment to improvement and an insatiable competitive drive. 5:58, How hard was it to walk away from tennis to focus on pickleball? While the decision to leave her high school tennis team behind might have been agonizing for some, Truong viewed it as a natural progression. "I didn't really like the social aspects of school," she explains. "I was always very independent, and my learning styles are very different." The pandemic's disruption of traditional schooling allowed her to thrive academically on her own terms, while the arrival of pickleball provided an irresistible athletic outlet. "It was pretty easy to walk away and, falling in love with pickleball, I was like, 'You can do this every day, 24 hours.'" 10:10, Personal growth through professional pickleball Truong's pickleball pursuits have catalyzed her personal growth in ways that extend far beyond the court. "Playing tournaments and then as you get better in those tournaments, like maybe you played on Center Court, and then you have to do an interview," she explains, "I had to learn to speak well and talk to older people in the community who have that life experience." The sport has imbued her with a level of poise and professionalism that belies her teenage years, a fortifying experience that will serve her well as her career continues to blossom. 12:50, Pickleball sponsors & how they contribute to your success Success at the highest levels of any sport requires not just talent and hard work but also the support of invested partners. For Truong, that backing comes from industry leaders like Engage Pickleball and Chicken N Pickle. "I truly believe in Engage, I truly believe in Chicken N Pickle, what their missions are and the products that they put out there, their quality," she says. These sponsors provide invaluable resources and a collaborative environment that allows Truong to focus on her game while representing brands she genuinely admires. 15:29, Engage Pickleball & Chicken N Pickle Truong's glowing praise for her sponsors is well-earned. Engage Pickleball, an iconic brand with deep roots in the sport, produces some of the finest paddles on the market, while the innovative Chicken N Pickle facilities have captured the imaginations of pickleball enthusiasts nationwide with their unique blend of recreation and hospitality. "It's an amazing place to just go and hang out," Truong raves, recounting the mouthwatering cuisine and lively atmosphere she encountered on her first visit. 18:15, Major League Pickleball Perhaps no development has impacted the professional pickleball landscape quite like the advent of Major League Pickleball (MLP). Truong, a member of the Black Diamonds franchise, revels in the electric energy and raucous crowds that distinguish MLP events. "The crowds erupting, there's people with signs, and their chests are painted, and like noise makers - it's crazy, and I love how everybody gets so into it," she enthuses. The team format has injected an extra dose of camaraderie and friendly rivalry into the sport, further endearing it to players and spectators alike. 23:27 The Brock Purdy of Pickleball and Ms. Irrelevant Despite being dubbed "Ms. Irrelevant" by some pundits after being the last pick in the MLP draft, Truong embraces the underdog narrative with her characteristic mix of humility and determination. "I get tagged in a lot of tweets, like, 'Oh, the Utah Black Diamonds are statistically the most likely team to come in last,'" she says with a laugh. "I'm replying to these tweets, I'm like, 'We're not coming in 12th,' and then I get replies after that, '13th, question mark?'" Undeterred, Truong sees an opportunity to defy expectations through the intangible bonds of team chemistry. 24:55, Team chemistry in pickleball While pre-season projections are often based solely on individual player rankings, Truong understands that the x-factor of team cohesion can render such predictions moot. "You can look at paper and just look at all teams in any of the sports," she observes. "You put two of the best tennis players together, like a female tennis player and a male tennis player - that doesn't mean that they're going to be the best mixed doubles team. They might not have good chemistry." Her Black Diamonds may be outmatched on paper, but Truong is convinced that their rapport and esprit de corps will propel them to unexpected heights. 27:03, Are you a goal setter? What are your goals for the rest of the year? When it comes to goal-setting, Truong subscribes to a pragmatic, process-oriented approach informed by the insights of her coaching staff. "I've been working really hard on my mental game," she explains. Rather than fixating solely on results-based objectives like rankings or medal counts, Truong focuses on incremental, performance-based targets - hitting a certain percentage of drop shots in practice, for instance. "Setting those tiny tasks and knowing that I can complete those daily goals every single day," she says, "it's satisfying knowing that you actually can check something off your list immediately." In the end, Truong's aspirations are as lofty as they are nuanced: "Of course I want to be number one. Of course, I want to have as many medals as I can... But I'm just taking those little steps to get there." With her prodigious talents, unwavering dedication, and mature perspective, the pickleball world would be wise not to underestimate this rising star's ability to turn those little steps into a giant leap towards greatness.

Rising Tennis Star Rachel Rohrabacher Blazes a Trail in Pickleball Former NCAA Champion Embraces New Challenge, Eyes No. 1 Doubles Ranking Rachel Rohrabacher's journey from the tennis courts to the pickleball arena has been nothing short of meteoric. The former University of South Carolina standout, who once ranked No. 9 in the nation in doubles, has seamlessly transitioned to the rapidly growing sport of pickleball, quickly establishing herself as one of the top players on the professional circuit. 1. 00:00, Introduction In a recent interview with the Zero Zero Start podcast, Rohrabacher opened up about her remarkable rise in pickleball, her transition from tennis, and her ambitious goals for the future. With an infectious enthusiasm and a competitive fire that burns as bright as ever, the 26-year-old is determined to leave an indelible mark on her new sport. 2. 1:24, How did you get into pickleball and what is your tennis background? Rohrabacher's path to pickleball stardom began on the tennis courts, where she first picked up a racket at the age of six. After a successful junior career, she earned a scholarship to play Division I tennis at the University of South Carolina, where she excelled in both singles and doubles. Despite battling injuries early in her college career, Rohrabacher persevered, setting records and helping her team capture a championship in her senior year. 3. 4:45, Does switching sports rejuvenate you and help with burnout? While tennis will always hold a special place in her heart, Rohrabacher admits that the burnout she experienced after her collegiate career led her to explore new avenues. "I just needed a little bit of a break," she confessed. "When tennis and coaching were intertwined, it was still burnout." Pickleball, with its fast-paced action and growing popularity, provided the perfect outlet for Rohrabacher's competitive spirit, allowing her to reignite her passion for a racket sport without the baggage of her tennis past. 4. 7:45, How is pickleball training different compared to tennis? One of the most significant differences Rohrabacher has encountered in her transition to pickleball is the training regimen. In tennis, she relied heavily on coaches to guide her development and hone her skills. In pickleball, however, the coaching resources are still relatively scarce, forcing Rohrabacher to take a more self-directed approach. "The practices day-to-day are up to me," she explained, "and the drilling sessions and organizing and finding people to hit with - it's just me on the court." 5. 9:15, Do you watch film? How do you figure out what needs to be improved? Rohrabacher's self-awareness and willingness to learn have been instrumental in her rapid ascent in pickleball. She embraces the power of video analysis, carefully studying her matches to identify areas for improvement. "I think watching myself like I've noticed something recently that has just crept in that I'm like, 'What am I doing?' that I would never have really known if I didn't watch," she revealed. 6. 11:11, Memes of pickleball With pickleball's growing popularity comes increased scrutiny, and Rohrabacher has found herself the subject of good-natured memes and social media ribbing. Far from being deterred, she takes it all in stride, viewing it as a sign of her rising stature in the sport. "I think that's a sign that you made it if you if you hit the memes page," she quipped. 7. 12:38, MLP Draft Day One of the highlights of Rohrabacher's pickleball journey thus far was being drafted by the DC Pickleball Team in the 2024 Major League Pickleball (MLP) Draft. While the experience was a whirlwind, with texts and calls flooding in as her name was announced, Rohrabacher quickly shifted her focus to strategizing with her new teammates and mapping out a plan for success. 8. 14:19, What's the first thing you did when you found out you got drafted? Rachel’s reaction was a whirlwind of emotions, a blend of excitement, relief, and anticipation for the future. As soon as she saw the text from James Ignatowich confirming her selection, her first instinct was to connect with her loved ones. However, the fast-paced nature of the draft meant she had to quickly shift gears from celebration to strategic planning. She immediately hopped on a call with the DC Pickleball Team’s management to discuss strategy. “I wanted to say my piece on what direction and strategy I would like to go with the rest of the team,” Rachel shared. 9. 15:55, Do you see yourself not playing pickleball in the near future? What is your long-term goal? While Rohrabacher's pickleball career is still in its early stages, she has no plans to step away from the sport anytime soon. "I'm gonna ride this thing out as long as possible," she declared. "I'm having such a great time." Her long-term goal is lofty but well within her sights: to become the No. 1 women's doubles team and continue improving in mixed doubles. 10. 17:00, Mental health in pro pickleball As a former student of mental health counseling, Rohrabacher is keenly aware of the psychological toll that comes with being a professional athlete. She hopes to one day combine her passion for pickleball with her educational background, perhaps serving as a mental health coach or counselor for players on the tour. "I think that would be really cool, to kind of stay in pickleball but just a different role," she mused. 11. 19:50, What is your goal for the rest of 2024? For the remainder of the 2024 season, Rohrabacher's focus is on maintaining patience and consistency. While her rise has been swift, she understands the importance of managing expectations and taking things one day at a time. "Just remembering to stay patient and just try to stay consistent with what I'm doing, I think is just the most important thing for me right now," she said. As Rachel Rohrabacher continues to blaze a trail in the world of pickleball, her infectious enthusiasm, unwavering determination, and deep well of experience in high-level competition position her as a force to be reckoned with. With her sights set on the No. 1 doubles ranking and a burning desire to leave her mark on the sport, it's clear that this rising star's journey has only just begun.

If you're looking to seriously up your pickleball game, you gotta check out this paddle. The textured surface means you can put stupid amounts of spin on the ball - your opponents won't know what hit 'em! What really blew my mind is the carbon fusion technology -- they use this foam injection process to fuse the faces together, creating a monster sweet spot that seems to wrap around the whole paddle. Hardly any dead spots and mishits are basically eliminated.
@kimleith1378

Good tech if Joola can keep it consistent from paddle batch to paddle batch. Injecting liquid foam into the core and having it "set" to a solid form, is a "adhesion" problem. Flex and impact will separte the foam from the PP core. Only a problem for players who don't get their paddles for "free".

Yah. Foam will expand by temp and crush the polycore. Gearbox is diff since it is 100% carbon so the core is hardern

Joola came out with a great paddle for sure. It now can compete with the same tech the off brand paddles have been delivering for a year at half the price.

@JustPaddles

@feliksperl9992 very similar in feel. We had a member of our team switch to PIKKL as a longtime Volair Forza player. What core thickness were you looking for?

Why is this going on the same weekend the PPA is in town??? I will be going to Elite Thur - Sun. The PPA tourney is the same weekend it was last year. It's not like it was an unknown.

I've a fair-to-middling player but I do like to spin the ball, and this racquet really helps. It also has much more power than my previous racquet (Gearbox CP7), and I really enjoy playing with it.

A lot of bots with the name format of name1234 saying this racquet is incredible. For that reason I will not be buying it.

From what I understand most peoples accounts look like this now. I think people just don't go through the process of changing the handle that is assigned them.

Case in point, my name has 7954 behind it and this is the first time I've noticed it. I however, am a very real person. :) Now I just have to figure out how to change it.

@@teutatezify Thanks for you comment, and it's a fair point, I can understand your thought. But it's just real customers who bought and play with the Aero¹. We let previous customers know about the launch today with JustPaddles and to leave comments about their experience if they felt so inclined. We're a newer brand so it's hard for people to know what it's like to play with.

Give it a brief hold on the handle and be sure that it's on the side with the small pickleball on the throat.

@@JustPaddles thanks for the quick response. But nothing no response no matter how long i hold my phone on the handle. Don’t know what is going wrong. Maybe a fake product. But I order it from totalpickleball that is supposed to be legitimate.
